Wash Westmorland and Richard Glatzer are a veteran filmmaking team. They persuaded Julianne Moore to take on the role of Alice, a scholar who suffers early onset Alzheimer Disease. Kristen Stewart came on as her daughter. And to make things even more interesting, Mr. Glatzer co-directed while increasingly limited in his actions by ALS. The group gathered and discussed the film, the process, and choices made with David Poland,

Its so nice to see Kristen being so passionate about her charachter. She doesn't merely portrait Lydia, she becomes her. And to see that lack of gap on screen when we're watching the movie is so rare and amazing.

Kristen does have wisdom beyond her age. I’ve been watching some of her interviews on RU-vid, I like the way she thinks and conveys her ideas about anything. She’s my role model.

It actually looks like it was a great experience, Julianne and Kristen have an amazing chemistry and the directors seems really happy with the final product. Amazing interview, lots of energy :)

I just watched this movie again. So beautifully made. The moment that chokes me up is when John looks to Lydia, says "you're a better man than I am," and just starts to cry because he can't take it. The power in that moment alone is insane.

I enjoyed how candid and conversational this is, not so stiff interview-y. The book stayed with me weeks after I read it and when I heard that it was going to be adapted into a movie I was afraid they would ruin it or go over board with the heartache. Julianne did a superb job as Alice and Kristen did great as Lydia, I could empathize with both of them, even with Alec, I worked at a cancer hospital and got to see first hand the dynamic of this family, the care taker, the one that avoids the situation because they just can't deal with it, etc. Congratulations to the entire team that worked on this and thank you Mr. Poland for this.

Cecilia Uribe Hell, I'll admit the same thing lol. It was so well made, and it's great in the sense that it brings awareness to those who have never directly dealt with the effects of Alzheimer's.
