Sorry, commenting as I watch this haha but the “he” that is referred to is Mito, the name Ian has given to his “up” persona. In nerves especially, when he says “now he’s looking for something meaningless” really hits because mania can cause impulsiveness and yeah, ugh, it’s so so raw and gorgeous

YESSSSS!!! You have no idea how excited I am that you finally watched these lol The entire DPR family is so incredibly talented, and honestly 'Scaredy Cat' is my favorite mv so far this year. Christian's acting within the mvs only gets better with each one they release I swear. The 'Memories in Disorder' documentary that was released prior to this is a must watch, the impact it had and the understanding it gave the fans.... honestly incredible. Meeting Mito and understanding where he came from and the struggles that were faced is so chilling and raw it's insane.

Omg this was on my recommendation after a while and watching this is just crazy. Now that you got to meet him i just find it crazy how accurate you were at the time without even know the full story yet. This honestly showed that this in a way was always destined to happen especially with how far you have come!! Ahhh rewatching this makes me sooooo happppy🫶

I love this whole album so so so much, Welcome to the Show just makes my heart burst with euphoria every time I listen to it. Dope Lovers and So Beautiful are also my other favorites. DPR LIVE has a song called Kiss Me that I know you'll love and and Christian has another song called Zombie Pop thats amazing

Four vids in one. Love this. And this deserves a whole essay. lol 1. No Blueberries - So I'm going to totally take this from a D.I.D perspective but more like what I've learnt/read up on so not personal experience and if I get anything wrong from what D.I.D portrays or even from what Ian intends, please correct me. Okay so from a D.I.D perspective, in the diner, it's Ian with a Mito influence (I believe). In the last video we see Mito in black and white and dealing with a lot of darkness. Plus there's a gun at the end of So beautiful. So Ian/Mito (maybe a co-fronting situation, idk) needs to compose himself in the bathroom first but he's struggling a bit with him pointing the gun at the mirror. He takes his pills and then goes outside. I know Mito is usually black and white and I always associate the eyeball ring with him so for now I'll either say maybe it's Ian with Mito's influence. So he/they order dessert, are polite to the waitress, it's all good. Until someone put blueberries on his ice cream cake. Blueberries is representative of a trauma trigger. Mito is the one to face those that trigger which leads him to eventually face the Blueberry Monster. It's how some alters operate. There's usually one that holds the trauma and faces it while the core personality may or may not remember. Mito seems to be that person. When everyone disappears and Mito has to face that trauma and then we see the cut on his nose, we can see that's a representation of the scars he's had to deal with internally. One thing I did forget to add - when it changes to black and white outside of the diner, that's when Mito fully appears, engages with the monster and then switches back to Ian who's running away. "Welcome to the other side" - If this is him, facing the blueberry monster aka trauma then the other side is the side where those trauma, bad memories are hidden away. Something to note in the video: A pocket watch perhaps. Also during his fight with the Blueberry monster we see black feathers all over. ................................................ 2. Welcome To The Show Okay so there's the picture with the man standing that reminds me of the picture in So Beautiful except in So Beautiful the hands are at his side close to his body while in this video, it's away from his sides. We get introduced to Mito here (by name because we've already met him since the beginning). Plus the cut from No Blueberries has formed a scar. I mean really, watching this in order really tells a story. So a person walks in. Is it Ian or Mito. To me it's not fully Mito as yet because it's Ian and Mito co-fronting a bit with Mito going to be more at the front soon enough. It's already happening based on the eyeball ring and hair covering one of his eyes, plus the flashing memories that were plaguing him. Ian says "I feel like I've been here before. I wonder if they are my memories. Or if it's his." In the flashback which is "So Beautiful". However I am seeing flashes of images that weren't in the So Beautiful mv, e.g. the outfit with feathers and another one as well. So this brings me back to D.I.D. Due to trauma alters hold different memories. So Mito holds the memories of trauma, negative emotions perhaps. Ian starts to feel a familiarity for these memories but then dissociates himself with "Or if it's his." However the stage is set for Mito's premiere. One of the lyrics says "Close all the doors". Well behind the doors could very well be memories. However if you're on a stage presenting to the world, this is what you want them to see. Although I don't see it shown, the door behind could also represent the backstage door - whether there's all the preparations going on and the hustle and bustle. Memories shape you as a person just like all the behind the scenes rehearsals and backstage stuff will shape a performance. Mito knows what they are but he needs them to be closed. "Welcome to the show" is Mito probably saying this is how I want to run things now, oh leave the doors alone, we're not going there. ................................................. 3. Nerves So there's a framed photo here as well. And photos/pictures capture memories. And when we see those memories captured in that still format, we might think about them in more 'movement' like "This is the time we went to that place and did all those things and remember when..." But what if the person can't go beyond that photo and 'remember' the events that happened around that photo. I'm not saying that this is exactly the case in the mv but it's something to think about. "When did it all start. I can't remember" This is Ian taking his pills or Mito holding the pill bottle and then we see the eye in his hand. We also see either both eyes or one eye being hidden whether it's by a camera, hair, light, his hand etc. If Mito is the holder of trauma and keeping Ian away from those memories then he is the one with all the scars, trying to calm the nerves on his own. Maybe he uses methods that may not be good for him, like taking a smoke, but it's what works in the moment. The song itself depicts a relationship that has ended, where the girl has moved on. There is a lot of pain that's on his side, but he knows she's happy and he doesn't want to burden her with his trouble so "don't worry bout me cause I'm doing fine." "Cause I loved you. He loved you." This is Mito speaking for both him and Ian. ............................................................. 4. Scaredy Cat So in the beginning we get this on air report "Joining the manhunt. The manhunt continues. The police reports discovering the horrific bodies. 6 years have passed. Last scene at the Devil's Diner. Railroad tracks. Witnesss say the suspect may be missing an eye." Devil's Diner - the same diner in No Blueberries. The report is fragmented which is like how memories or that different alters can hold pieces of memory. So this feels like a conflict between/among the different sides where someone needs to be control. Wearing lipstick that's smeared is not something Mito or Ian would do (at least to me). Like oh no, who or what did we unleash. Someone doesn't like that because he puts one in straitjacket. Could very well be Ian who is trapped by his alter/s. I liked that scene where one of them is just getting ready to go out and the other one locked in the closet, is just singing away - like you can push him behind in your mind but he's always reminding you that he's still there. Plus there is always someone wearing white near the fragmented mirror but his face is always hidden. Seems like he could be the one who wins out in the end. At the end when the elevator closes and then reopens, we see one of the alters in a white frilly shirt. This seems like part of the outfit he wore for Welcome To The Show. So Mito won out at the end. It's Moodswings in this order. MITO's album of course. ........................................ Nerves would be my fave song and the mv is so good (like all of them are), however Scaredy Cat is my fave mv.

Oooh nice! Wasn't expecting this. My favourite song of the album is Nerves, followed closely by So beautiful. It's also a contender for album of the year for me though it's tied with Lilac by IU at the moment. It's kind of crazy to see how much he has grown as an artist since c-clown. As some other comments have mentioned this album is about his experience with his bipolar disorder. MITO is a character he is portraying throughout this album and mvs. I think he released a longer video called memories in disorder where he kind of explains his thought process, you might wanna check that out. Just curious, have you guys heard anything by Baek Yerin? Her album tellusaboutyourself feels to me like a mix of DPR IAN and JUS2. I think you would like it.

Fun fact: Christian Yu is Australian. His music is majorly in English. The entire DPR family is talented. DPR LIVE is featured in “No Blueberries”, along with CL. The man in the astronaut costume in “No Blueberries” is the other DPR member CREAM. ‘Welcome to the Show’ is like an introduction to his sound off his album MITO, if you will. ‘Nerves’ is my favorite song from the four. The chorus is catchy af. ‘Scaredy-cat’ is reminiscent of the movie “The Shining” in my opinion. I think he has two sides to himself here as well. I think he is also still struggling with his inner demons.

After watching ur interview i was really interested to see ur reactions so i am starting at the beginning :) if u see me commenting on a lot of ur dpr reactions its because this feels like im on a little journey with u. So yes i will be writing essays! I feel there are not many people i can really delve into the details with and they'll actually understand me 😅 U are so intuitive its amazing, i wonder how Ian felt when u made the comment about having DID. Its so facinating to listen to the first album now knowing and realize how much he actually hinted at it. especially, the broken glass album cover is so signifying, its often a way people describe the disorder simply put - literally fragmented pieces Onto No bueberries i recently found a clip of him talking about it. He talked about how small things to certain people could be a trigger to others. So he used a blueberry to describe this. A harmless blueberry to most is a monster to him. Im sure in reality a blueberry doesnt trigger him but just uses it to make this point lol. Alsooo omg the whole scene at the beginning of No blueberries when he is looking at the mirror and it flashes of mito in the reflection really reminded and helped me connect the meaning of that scene from ur interview, so interesting. Lastly ohh how i miss the long hair 😂❤ he literally looks so different with different hairstyles to me

This whole album was sooooo good. My favs on the album are Nerves, Welcome to the show, So beautiful, and No Silhouette. Honestly though basically every song is my favorite because they all sound amazing.
