Yes and no. If you get overly invested in supports but don't have good DPSs you can only go so far. A damage dealer without a support can clear things, a support without a damage dealer cannot. So yeah, while supports are more future proof, at some point you have to pick a dps to actually do something.
No, it's petter to get supports like Ruan Mei, Aventurine and Robin when you're at the point of being able to clear something but not everything. And the after that you should be considering getting some new DPS characters. Even tho Ratio was free but we'll just ignore that ig
I mean you can easily clear all content with 4 star dps using 5 star supports. Its when you over invest into dps and have no supports is when you can only go so far.
agree 100%, I was struggling a lot on endgame with only Ratio and Jingliu as DPS, even though I had all the harmony possible. Getting Yunli changed everything.
You still need DPS, I followed this advice and got sparkle, ruan mei and Robin as well as Bronya from the standard banner. I couldn't clear anything because my only DPS other than Acheron was Jingliu so if one side isnt weak to ice I was fucked. Yes, supports are great but you need DPS that they can support that's good for the content. Even someone not as meta like Clara is a better pick than someone considered generally stronger like Jingliu if the weaknesses and buffs align in her favour.
never been more trueer. i pulled all the sustain and dps from 1.1 to 1.7 and skipped all the dps aside from kafka and dhil so now im set to pick and choose a meta comp going forward with them as the backbone of my account. still happy for my decisions but i wished i could've known JL was coming so i could've skipped dhil for her instead.
Clearly Dps's and Supports have the same amount of value. The whole reason Supports exist is to, well "Support" a Dps, hence making Them lose their true value if what you say is true, this is definitely also not said for dps if put the other way around, dps's already have their own decent damage and putting more of them on one team makes damage easier to deal and faster delt thanks to the dps/Subdps standard. Supports also tend to be very Sp Negative most of the time whilest also having less offensive stats to much better invest in living hits to continue supporting, with the acception of the few that scale off their attack stats being high like Tingyun and Robin. While I love supports they mean nothing without the real damage dealers themselves. (I have a feeling you're just trolling atp but I understand it)
I really like ruin mei!! Dont get me wrong robin is fun but her e6 is stupid crazy.. i really enjoy break damage and ruin mei is just really fun to have on my team
Feixiao is really fun now. Acheron and firefly was fun too when they came out. I would say pick your fun/fave dps first, then pick up key puzzle pieces to make them better, but dont overinvest (e1 or s1 max) so you can save up for the next fun thing that comes out
I pulled for Kafka and was able to throw a quick set for her. 3400atk 136 speed 80 efh I heard you don't need but like 30 or 40 ehr is that true? If so I'll try for more atk. She's on prisoner/glamoth sets.
That speed is way too low. Ideally you want Kafka at 160 but atleast get it as high as you can. And if you don't have her signature lightcone, she doesn't really need much EHR, just speed and attack. If u have her sig, well then build a little but of EHR, I think around 40 is all u need. But you should double check since I built Kafka a while ago. I forgot.
You are greatly over valuing supports. I agree they will always be a priority over DPS, but most of the top tier DPS (besides Acheron and FF) are versatile enough so that you can run a lot of different supports and still clear everything. As an example, Dr Ratio really likes the FUA comp(assuming sig LC and eidolons), but he works perfectly fine with SW/Pela plus a harmony of your choice. Yeah, the full whale IPC team does more dmg, but hypercarry Ratio does more than enough, and its similar with Yunli, DHIL, etc. You could still argue that great supports can carry mediocre DPS, but its going to be much much harder, and it'll require a lot more relic quality on your end while striving for a balance and pulling a little bit of everything depending on your account needs will probably lead to better results
You really only need 2 DPS… or Meta DPS/semi Meta Current Apoc Shadow? Feixiao and Firefly. No Firefly? Boothill. No Feixiao? Dr Ratio The supporting members or much more impactful to the teams.
Currently have two teams built, DHIL hyper carry and Superbreak. Atm looking into getting Lingsha for the healing capabilities so I can bench luocha and dedicated huohuo on the DHIL team when needed.
I feel like for the most part people can still get whoever they like and do well, provided they dont have too specific and weird taste. Until hoyo makes a boss that reminds me of the first time fighting weapon bosses in og FF7 or Ozma in FF9 where strat and cheese actually matter.
I am waiting for the new form of tingyun that is suppose to be a super break support to replace harmony trailblazer that should come in 2.7. Lost 50/50 for Robin to E1 Bronya. Archeron and Firefly cover my dps needs cause I don't have to care about enemy weakness.
While I'm sure Tingyun will be great, she may limit Firefly in Pure Fiction because of being Nihility. Trailblazer gets to use DDD after all. We will see though. Maybe she will enable FF to attack so hard you won't need DDD in the first place.

You don't need to pull every suport just the ones who fit multiple teams ergo Ruan Mei and Robin, with either of them you can even Ran 4 star Dang Heng and be perfectly fine, for players that don't want to waste money that's a really good advice, I picked up Huoho in the recent rerun and she is carrying my team of 4 stars at level 70 no problem.
"I don't believe Acheron is ever getting powercrept," sure man, everybody said the same about Jingliu and look at her now. Firefly and Feixiao already outclassed Acheron, its just a matter of time before she is no longer top tier, and it'll be the same for FF and Feixiao a year from now, thats how Hoyo games function
@@LucasGomes-ng2go Firefly and Feixiao outclassed Acheron? Firefly highly depends on the breaking mechanic, which narrows the actual damage window the player has control over, and Feixiao excels at ST only, whereas Acheron excels at AoE while being decent at ST. Not saying she will not get powercrept, but saying that she is now experiencing the same fallout as Jingliu did is quite the stretch at the moment.
