Skied my DPS 106 tour all winter. Simply amazing skies! Love them! Even at the resorts. The combo with ATK R12/Hagan core 12 pro is superb for backcountry skiing 🤌 10/10 would ski again 😉

Great video review and information. Since you seem to have a number of backcountry setups I was curious about your thoughts on the atomic backland 100 and 107 skis.

I’ve heard good things, but have never skied them. I was looking hard at the 100 last year when shopping for a 100mm daily driver. I ended up going with the Dynastar M-Tour 99 just because the Atomic only came in a 172 or 180cm length and I wanted a 175 or 178 at the longest.

I have really enjoyed the videos yall put out. I believe i have watched about everyone of them several times, excellent content. I would like your advice. Im a intermediate level 6-7 skier and got the bug to learn backcountry sking as much as possible. Im driving my van out to Co and Ut in a few days and will be there for over 30 days starting Feb 1, 2022. Im looking at buying a complete setup of backcountry gear, i tend to buy the best out there to get quality gear. Im 6,0 and about 200 pounds average athletic ability. Can you steer me in the right direction of a set up you would recommend? Leaning toward DPS, Dynafit, and Blackcrow brands but open to hearing what you have to say. PS you guys deserve well over 100k subs for the delivery and content of the videos, well done.

can you do a review for the g3 seekr. I didn't have much of a flexible budget for my first backcountry setup and found a pair of carbon synapse 101s that already had ion bindings mounted. As much as I like how light they feel and how g3 skins clip on to the tail of my ski, I want to eventually invest in a ski that performers better in powder as well as in more variable conditions

The Seekr is a better synapse in all regards. Damper, more powerful, better shape. I skied the 110 as my powder ski last two seasons. Really liked them. Light construction, just playful enough but not too rockered that you can’t charge hard and fast or feel secure on some steeper terrain or variable snow. 100mm or 110mm is the only question. I’d say 100 if it’s a daily driver or 110 if it’s going to be your powder ski.

I’ve been waiting for this. I demoed the pagoda tour 107 very fun ski. I didn’t get too many laps on them but they were fun. This ski with those Hagan/ATK bindings is truly the Ferrari/Porsche of backcountry skis setups. I just can’t bring myself to buy them. I want to put them head to head with the Atomic Backland 107 before I make my decision. How much do you trust that binding for some resort use? I might be able to justify the purchase if I could use them on soft inbounds a days and as a midwinter setup in the PNW.

I trust the retention and durability enough to use them without a thought on soft snow resort days. I would highly recommend mounting them with the free ride spacers if that's the case. As far as trusting them for consistent and accurate DIN release? You'll have to search your heart to answer that.

Thoughts on the 94 width version for spring skiing, hut trips, and general all-rounder? Or would you still go with the 106?

@cnuila What length of this ski did you go with?

but the Movements are like 200g lighter! for the same ish profile. ??? Movement Alp Tracks 106 for sure
@cnuila
@cnuila 2 года назад
Lighter yes, and ski exceptionally well at that weight, but the DPS is giving you a whole other category of stability and dampness, especially at speed and even more pronounced in variable conditions. If you’re a high speed tourer that plans to keep his skis on the ground and in the soft stuff, the movements are awesome. Incredible actually for their weight, which is the Alp Tracks series special sauce. These Pagoda Tours are bringing a level of performance that used to be reserved for skis vastly heavier at a legit touring weight. Not ultralight, but light enough for what they are, and you get a little something more with that 200g. I still have my Movement 106s though. When it’s a powder day and I’m with my weight weenie fast friends, or going long and far for some good snow, it’s the go-to.

How do you like those Dynafit Radical Pros on your feet?
@cnuila
@cnuila 3 года назад
Love them. I wrote a semi-thorough review on skimo.co product page. They're replacing my Maestrale RS in the Beef Boot slot of the quiver. Couple grams heavier, but the range of motion, walkability, ease of use and solid cuff lock in downhill mode make them "feel" faster and lighter.

@@cnuila Very optimistic of the Transalp Pro as the 1300g boot category, which I'm sure you will test out next season,

How would you compare this to your G3 findr 94?
@cnuila
@cnuila 2 года назад
Similar in that they are both very damp for their weight, with the DPS being more playful and energetic, making the Findr seem a little planky and dull by comparison. Obviously the extra width of the 106 makes it much more adept at soft snow than the 94. The Findr 102 would be a closer comparison, again just the construction and shape of the DPS makes it a little more fun and the Findr a little more serious.
