Hi could you please tell me how your husband got off insulin?? Did he gradually reduce the units of insulin or stopped it altogether? PLEASE do reply... Eagerly waiting..
@@amohamedarif2629 I would like to know as well. My mother is on insulin and she has gained so much weight, yet her doctor tells her she must lost. She is on two types of diabetes meds, and she tries to do the fasting, but she says when her insultin goes low, she passes out or get the shakes. She is type 2 diabetic.
Before fasting, my BP was 123/83, still acceptable. I tried to lower it by different ways, no luck. AFTER only TWO DAYS FASTING, MY BP reads: 107/73 , which is almost TOO normal 😂😂😢😅😅🎉🎉
Dr. Berg did a great job actually letting Dr. Fung talk. So many of these types of videos have two smart people trying to talk over each other. This is great! Thanks to both of you guys and keep up the good work.
I am a medical doctor and I have had lots of questions on some of our medical practices and teachings. I haven't seen so many Doctors display a keen sense of KNOWLEDGE, CARE, PASSION AND DESIRE TO IMPROVE THEIR PATIENT'S LIFE by questioning the norms and old teachings. You really take the bold steps to change the narratives with knowledge and evidence based practice to save lives. It's wonderful watching and learning from you - Dr Eric and Dr Fung!
Of course you haven’t. Doctors who speak against status quo risk being seen as traitors, and ostracized or accused/blamed in some way (say, accused of endangering patients with wrong advice), and their reputation ruined.
I truly believe that media (other than books) is the root cause of our NEED to KNOW this valuable information. Before commercials and fashion mags and golden arches and packaged meals we were a more physically active, nutritionally complete society who got our most valuable life education from our elders.
OOOH...My two favorite Doctors on one channel...how lucky am I? These are the two Doctors that I listened to when I started my intermittent fasting. I understood them clearly and I lost the 20 pounds I had been holding onto for 10 years. Plain and simple language is all we need to understand weight loss, without hidden agenda's to make money off of pusing Meds like most Doctors do. Thank you Dr. Berg and Dr. Fung!
I've been keto for 2 years now. Been following you, Dr. Fung and Dr. Berry. I weaned myself off of 4 insulin shots per day, 4 heart/blood pressure meds and lost at least 50 pounds and kept it off. I'll never go back to a "regular diet". Thanks guys!
@@jamesnewing886 stick with it! It will change your life for the better. I've now lost a total of 75 pounds. I'm hovering around 160, down from 235. I'm loving life! I wish the best for you!
They’re so amazing As patients the confusion lies in working out who is telling the truth! Once you’ve worked that out (it’s these two) you can learn everything you need to know.
I saw my brother, he started out as a type two diabetic then went to type one and died from multiple organ failure, and now my older sister is going down the same path. I have had my A1C and have type two so I am changing everything to make sure my path is different.
Hi Darla, I'm sorry for your loss How are you doing now? I know how it feels I lost my younger brother 6 years ago ()Diabetes ) after a very long battle . My older brother is Type 2 and having his under control. I'm borderline with Diabetes for ver 6 years...I'm trying my best to reverse it now with intermittent fasting. I hope all is going good for you. Selly
People don't believe me when I say that! It is so true though...once I eat then I want to eat more ; even drinking water will set me off. I get hungrier...it's crazy how that works..lol...if course I recognize that eating a nutritious meal is essential. Just saying that it is an interesting observation. Prove that insulin is the culprit.
Two angels of our lives My husband got rid of 8 years of type 2 diabetes,High B P , heart related medicines by just following Keto and IF 18:6 Doctor said that he was on edge of taking insulin injections But after 3 months of tests, doctor said he doesn’t need to use any medication I lost 34 lbs , able to reduce my bmi from 35 to 28 with Keto and IF .Still 26 lbs to lose Thank you for everything Docs
Dr Berg and Dr Fung are the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Thank you for posting on Intermittent Fasting. I have gone from 470lbs in early 2021 to 319lbs today!! Approaching 299lbs fast. Thanks again and keep spreading the word!!!
So good to hear everytime he talk like that. Hahaha. Love the guy. He’s very passionate and knows well what he’s talking about. Love both of them and Dr. Eckbert.
I fast for 23hrs daily, my skin is soft and glowing And I get a good night's sleep and go to the gym in fasted state of about 20hrs. No more craving or hunger anymore. Blessings from Wolverhampton England to you all.
Just a word of thanks to you two gentlemen. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in november 2017. My cholesterol and triglycerides were way high as well as my blood pressure. Was on metformin 1000mg/day and despite all the meds, my sugar levels were still not within reasonable levels. Weight was over 260 lbs ( my scale just could not go any higher ). Doctor was about to increase my medications when I started to watch what you guys were saying about ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. So I just followed your advice, knowing full well what my doctor told me about my condition ( chronic and progressive, with only getting higher doses of meds ). As of now, I have lost more than 70 lbs with the ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting and walking 40 minutes daily ( I was doing a 18 hour fast / 2 meal a day regimen ) and now, just to finish losing the last few pounds, I regrouped all my caloric intake to one meal a day ( so called 23 hour fast ). This morning, my blood sugar levels are at 4.6 mmol/l and my last A1C check ( 6 weeks ago is 5.5 mmol /l ). Triglycerides are 0.78 ( 1.46 is about the normal standard ) indicating that I am burning up fat. I do not hunger and my energy levels are like never before. At age 57, all I can say, I never felt better in all my last 30 years. next week, I am going to see my doctor and he asked me to stop taking the metformin to see where my blood sugar levels stand. It has been more than 10 days and all of my readings are averaging between 4.6 and 5.6 . Never will I go back to living with my carb diet that got me in such a mess. The food industry is telling you lies! As for you Dr. Fung, you are a Canadian physician. You must break this out to all Canadians suffering from diabetes. I live in the province of Quebec and over here, about 10 percent of the population has diabetes and it is a burden to our health system. By the way, refined carbohydrates are poison. And for all of rest you..... it works, at first it's not easy, but with perseverance and some failures you can pull this off. Keep up the good work and again Thank you !
@Caspean Sea Under supervision of my MD, bit by bit, I lowered my intake of metformin and day by day i monitored my blood sugar level, until i was completly off the metformin . Not only the met, but the blood pressure meds ( lost nearly 100 pounds . Now, I feel 20 years younger and life is great even during the pandemic. More ready that ever to face off this with a way better immune system, I must strain that once you are doing no carbs, your primary fuel source is fat.But never blend fats with a glycemic diet. This is for the rest of your life. However i do cheat ( on family occasions or weekends). A1c runs about 4.8 to 5.6 , so this where i am now and never ever will i go back to what made sick in first place.
@@retroriff are you still diabetic? I know it sounds redundant. but i am curious is you become healthier but still have the insulin problem. I would like to share this with some of my family.
@@rmoreno1826 I am no more suffering from diabetes. On weekends, i eat things that others do. My system is no longer resistant to insulin which means when i consume a high glycemic meal such as a chinese buffet with a generous dessert my blood sugars are normal ( 4.8 mmol/dl ) . The key is insulin resistance which dr Fung speaks abundantly. Once you have destroyed your resistance to insulin ( some people take more time than others ) everything falls back into place. I still do intermittent fasting combined with OMAD whit a low carb diet on weekdays and all is ok. Just like this way i live now. My fiend was diebetic and had stage 4 prostate cancer and he is cancer free now, after a 32 day long fast and many months after, his blood sugars went normal. Hids MD ask if he can share his data whith other colleagues. All I can say is it works and we still are in uncharted waters. But it works. This a matter of making choices and to keep em for life. Hope this may help you.
I’m 19 hours into my water fast, I’m so determined to reverse my insulin and to lose 35kg because of the truth in the guidance of these doctors. They are so clear and straightforward. Every single thing they say makes so much sense. Can’t wait to meet the new me soon. 🤸🏿♀️
You’re right! I have dr.Berg’s and dr.Fungs books( Get well and lose the weight +The body type) (Obesity code + Complete guide on fasting) I’m so happy to have shaded a whooping 15Kg, I’m healthier and going through menopause happily.
I'm a Christian and have been fasting on and off for spiritual reasons for 20 years. It never fails that my mind is sharper my energy level goes up and the terrible head aches go away. I stopped for several years got over wait and was placed on meds for chronic migraines. I got off the meds and started fasting again and to no surprise I'm losing weight and feel so much better!
Just diagnosed with diabetes arthritis asthma sinuses and more, family passed away from diabetes, appreciate All the prayers from my brothers and sisters in Christ 🙏🏼 God bless!
Dr berg sitting there shaking his head listening to dr fung like “ yep. I’ve told these people the same thing like a million times but today I’m going to let you take the credit and maybe they’ll listen”
@@RachelScottDance I don’t know because there are so many doctors who have discovered these facts and been teaching this for years. Dr. Fung and Berg both are young.
@@tiadavis5120 I love both of these doctors, however this is Dr. Fung's main focus in his nephrology practice; he has books and lectures on this subject ONLY. Stands to reason he knows more about it.
fifthof -For those trying to heal from obesity , high insulin & sugar in one’s blood -a nice warm trim healthy body beats the temporal satisfaction of eating delicious bread ! When one is healthier , one might be able to include some limited bread & pasta -complex carbs -in two meals a day -especially made from true whole grains -limiting or excluding simple sugars -especially, while as a lifestyle continuing intermittent fasting -eating real Whole Foods. One must get much healthier & trim first to do this -while eating with the suggestions Dr Berg & this wonderful guest dr advises.
fifthof bread "can" be nutritionist but the modern day flour is deplete of nutrition and just has empty carbs. I'm from Moldova where bread is a staple. I gave it up. :) except on special rare occasions
This is so refreshing to watch. I don’t like to watch anyone interview Dr Fung they don’t give him a chance to speak and would give their take which is annoying. Impressive Dr Berg. Two powerhouse. Great job. ❤️
These two person were responsible for me loosing 60kg whithin a year. Truly changed my life. Changed my way of thinking and hopefully continue to change the life of so many others through their continuous research and educational videos. Thank you both. Thank you very very much from the bottom of my heart....

I'm Italian. I live in Venice, Italy. I started to follow both of you a couple of years ago. My weight used to be about 89 kilos. My health was OK but I didn't feel so well. I started Omad and in 8 month I lost 34 kilos. It was great! Now I'm still keeping my weight of 55 kilos very easily. Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
@@jutanboy Unfortunately, I'm not very tall! My doctor said my weight is ok for my height. Thank you very much for your question. Greetings from Venice!
Delvin Vaz yes but I measure neck, arms, forearms, thighs, calves, ankles, hips, low waist, high waist, bust and under bust. I still have about 60 lbs to go, so all those area when I first started measuring would sometimes show a loss where my hips and thighs would barely budge. So it helped me stay encouraged if that makes sense
There is an incredible humility in being taught and treating patients conventionally, and then doing a 180 shift. So many get stuck, but this is amazing. The humility of both of these men, to listen and learn is phenomenal. ❤️
And look how God rewarded them for their integrity. They have wonderful ministries and are actually helping people, and presumably do not have too much trouble paying the bills.
The fact that Dr Fung admitted that he once was giving the wrong advice,is monumental ,I take my hat of to him ,you are both great Doctors ,and I wish more Dr would have a second look and re educate themselves.
Both of them are so calm, loving and kind, while being the top knowledgeable people of this area. I watch both of them daily for a while Now, and I am at my top fitness state, too. Thanks docs!
One man got nobel prize about fasting making one live longer. But still, he is not that famous to make fasting be pratice because food companies and pharma are gonna loose their businesses.
OUR DOCTER'S NEED TIME FOR THIS NEW KNOWLEGE. IT IS PROGRESSING. AS THEY HAVE BEEN TOUGHT OTHERWISE. TIME IS A HEALER AND WE CAN HELP OTHER PEOPLE TO LEARN AND SAVE OUR CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN. GOOD LUCK. HAPPY FUTURE.
When I asked my doctor about intermittent fasting he said No, No, No. I might add he is a diabetic, so I don't think he is going to help reverse me, if he hadn't helped himself.
Because there is too much money to be made by Big Pharma for Dr's. ..any doctor that prefers to medicate you, rather than treat you are more concerned about their bank account than about you!
@@Kiwiscanfly02 yup, the diabetes foundation NEVER talks about curing you but teaching you how to "live with diabetes " . There s no $$ in a cure. The web site is full of "healthy" recepies that include lots of carbs.
My heroes!! It's just FANTASTIC to see/hear both of these fine doctors together. I started Keto/Intermittent Fasting in May and have lost 17 lbs so far. Not bad for a 68 yr old woman who's still fine tuning things. Thank you both so very much.
Menh I was thinking about y God tells us to fast..cos he made us so he knows want we need to live healthy. And yes it has a spiritual aspect but also our physical health..the wisdom of God keeps amazing me. Man shall not live by bread alone.. The answer has always been Infront of us..
Thank you so much I am so riveted. I’m addicted to both doctors lol. I’m losing weight fast on OMAD! I feel fantastic at 59! Thank you thank you thank you. My 88 year old father is on healthy clean keto combined with IF, he’s losing weight slowly and steadily and he is more alert, productive and has less anxiety and depression.
Dr. Berg, I appreciated the way you conducted the interview with Dr. Fung. You asked great questions and very politely listened for his complete answers even though you have become a knowledgeable resource in your own right. Thank you for not interrupting him. Great interview and information!
Dr. Berg is an excellent listener, I'm impressed. He has a track record of communicating well: clear, concrete and concise wellness facts. The receptive side of communication is like an entirely different language. He seems fluent in both. Here, he does not interrupt his guest, yet he isn't spacing out; he gives frequent small non-verbal cues that he is paying attention. I love being able to see both sides in a conversation, you have the opportunity to learn about both parties. Kudos to Dr. Berg.
Well said!!! What a great observation!!! There is so much to be learned from these wonderful professionals, not just about diet/fasting, but also in the way they communicate.
Indeed the hardest part of communication is listening. You said it perfectly, two smart people usually jockey for position, but not Dr Berg. I'm impressed too ✌🏽
These two saved so many lifes they don't even know , they helped me loose weight after strugling for my whole entire life 😭 bless you two and all of your families 🙏🏻
Getting to hear Dr. Berg and Dr. Fung have a conversation on nutrition and health is, to use a sports analogy, the equivalent of watching an all-star game, where the best of the best are playing. There are many great doctors, researchers and professors, who advocate for low carb and intermittent fasting, who I refer people to when they ask me how I lost my 100 lbs, but the two professionals I refer people to the most are Dr. Berg and Dr. Fung. Both of these men have a away of cutting through the confusion that usually mires nutrition discourse, and they are so talented in conveying such information to the lay person, while at the same time making a cogent case for their position that would satisfy those who are well versed in the science. I simply can't think of two better emissaries for promoting low carb and intermittent fasting to the world.
Nancy Fahey, your skepticism towards doctors is understandable, given that they have been, over the past few decades, the purveyors of some pretty bad advice, especially in the realm of nutrition. So many doctors have acted as vehicles for spreading of the low fat/high carb message, lending a deeply flawed nutritional idea, unwarranted credibility. The good news is that for every doctor who still holds to the low fat/high carb mantra, more and more have been examining the science, and advocating low carb. Hopefully their numbers grow in advocacy of this way of eating, so that they can return some credibility to their profession.
You nailed it with this comment. Two amazing people, literally angels on earth giving this information on a free platform and saving millions of lives in the process.
I love how Dr. Berg let Dr Fung talk about a topic he knows so much about. I love how Dr. Fung just summarized the best weightloss advice: if you want to lost weight do not eat the high insulin rising foods and give your body a time to fast and lower your insulin and you can burn your fat.
Thank you, Dr. Berg. This is the first time I have been able to listen to Dr. Fung uninterrupted. Thank you, Dr. Fung, for sharing this invaluable information and research. Thank you both for making this knowledge available to us. Much, much love and appreciation!
These two guys saved me from an early death from being a sugar and carb addict. Too many tears to relay the gratitude I have for what they have done for me. Thank you very much.
Big Pharma's not worried. Big Pharma just waits for Big Food to create "keto" bars and to create ads, packaging, and formulations that would stimulate the appetite. Meanwhile, Big Food tracks who has purchased the "keto" bars and targets them with online ads for Oreos and Lays potato chips. It's a game of pretending they care about people's health while at the same time keeping them sick and making them sicker so that Big Pharma profits. But we already know we're living in an insane world, so none of that is surprising.
These are the two best humanitarians in the medical world. Bless them. I have been listening to all thier podcasts. I have lost over 20lbs and I am off blood pressure medication and off pre Diabetes.
Thanks for having Dr. Fung on! Cross-pollination is great because it helps these doctors reach more people in need. Dr. Berg, I appreciate the way you facilitated that interview. Ask a question and let the guest talk. I really like how you don't interrupt or interject too much. Thank you.
@@squirl2011 Maybe focus on just having two meals, and not the 18:6 IF. Monitor if it helps, and if it does, maybe you will just have to have your dinner separately. I know how it feels, I can't go on full keto as I stay with my mum (she cooks what she likes, and eating hours forbid me to stick to 18:6). However, sticking to 2 meals a day and as much as possible, eating food with more vege (e..g. salad/subway for me), has already improve my health by leaps - because I am very fat, so any little improvement is a big improvement. Good Luck to you :)
This is so true. I reversed my T2 diabetes with in 6 weeks, with IF and OMAD. My doctor nearly fall off his chair when he saw me. Asked me what I did and I told him. He told me he didnt believe in the Low Carb movement but to keep doing what Im doing, he made he laugh.
I like Dr. Berg, he's such a humble guy, giving the stage to Dr. Fung leaving his ego out of the equation. I'm sure he was familiar with 90% of what Jason Fung was talking about. This is how a good interview is run! Thanks guys...
He doesn't say anything because he wants to understand the next lie fung is talking about. High glucose and insulin is because of intramyocellular lipids blocking use of glucose. He doesn't even say plant based diets reverse heart disease
