Speaking to a crowd at the Cricket Ground in Mbale, Dr. Kiiza Besigye urged Ugandans to join him in fighting against dictatorship, assuring them that with the efforts of just 10 people from each village, they can unite to remove Museveni from power. He likened the current regime to a family business, 'Museveni Limited', stating that if you're not part of the Museveni family, you cannot enjoy the benefits of Uganda and are essentially in captivity. Dr. Besigye also accused the government of using divide-and-rule tactics to handle opposition parties, and urged opposition leaders to stop fighting among themselves, warning that this would only help Museveni maintain his grip on power. Dr. Besigye has launched a nationwide campaign to gather support for a new party, amid a factional split within the FDC, with the Katonga faction accusing Nandala and Amuriat of receiving money from Museveni.
