Big Lez was a real good host on Rap City. The woman is gorgeous looking but has such a humble and playful spirit in her interviews. Big Lez and Dee Barnes have a real love for Hip Hop.
I think I see the vision behind the album they tried to make. The beats Dre made are pretty straight forward, pure hip-hop, a loop, drums and Dre's trademark percussions. Some of these sounds were also used for 2001.
Thy Kingdom Come would've been a master stroke of art as a 5th album in King T's discography to finally make him a household name. But Dre coming off the heels of two flops with Aftermath Compilation and The Firm, couldn't take a financial risk after Source gave his album 3.5 mics. I've heard a few versions of the album and it sounds like the best music of his career that could have really taken him to the next level. Dre felt it needed more fine tuning but King T got frustrated since he put so much work in and eventually left to sign with Ruthless where a lowkey compilation was eventually released. Now he's mostly unknown unless you're a big fan of West Coast hip hop. Smh. He had all kinds of business plans to build off this album's success that never took off. SMH
Shiiit to be fair it's not like EVERYBODY who has worked with Dre automatically became household name. Did Hittman and KnocTurnal blow up? Shiiiit not everybody is gonna mesh well with Dre and Rakim is a prime example of that as well.
@@AQUAPHREESH193 yeah but they had potential too as well as others. King T was already established and this album was outta here production off the charts! It should’ve dropped.
Nah that's not how it went down. It was due out on June 30th 1998. The album was shelved mainly because Source mag gave it 3.5 mics out of 5 due to their East Coast bias. After listening to a couple versions of this album it's obvious Dre and King T could've had a classic that made King T a household name. Also keep in mind Dre didn't want to take a risk after Firm flopped and Aftermath compilation flopped so The Source Mag review basically caused him to say we can't release the project as is but we can fine tune it. King T got frustrated since he recorded it for quite some time and eventually left the label. King T did appear on Chronic 2001 as well though because he did so many joints.
hahhh u stay with the heattt!!! too bad thy kingdom come got shelved tho. king tee admits that he regrets leaving dr dre but hey hindsight is 20/20 u know?
