My son has had this since he was young. The orthopedic surgeon wanted to wait until he was done growing before considering surgeon. He had custom orthotics made to keep it from getting worse. Ankle swelling never goes down . Now that he is older, no insurance plus he longs to join the military. Lots of pain in the tendon/calf area.
I went through all my life without a diagnosis. I continued to train and each time resting when it flares up. Right now, its really bad enough to stop any jumping. Thanks to the internet, i identify with all the symptoms. Hoping that i could rehabilitate this fix this.
I'm on surgery stage. My tendon tore which I will blame on my boss. She wouldn't let me stay on a sitting bench and pressured me into a standing bench. Worst nightmare happened and the tendon blew out leaving me in constant pain. Even now the cow is still trying to force me back into a standing bench even though I have a medical certificate stating no standing benches. You could point her to a video like this and she still wouldn't get it
Tight muscles cause inflamed tendons. Inflamed tendons cause osteophytes. Stretch and get triggerpoint release from massage therapists or myotherapists and the inflammation may ease.
So what if youve been at stage 2 for like 6 yrs now lol. Injured mine playing sports and never been the same since. No real pain, but single leg hops are tough on that leg. Literally feels like I have to muscle up outta the jump each time, barely any elasticity.
Can so relate to this !! Loved running and had this from poor regime 4 years back. Didn't ware proper shoes. Ran a full marathon. Injured PTT and ankle. Never been the same again !!! Had recurrent injury 4 months back tendon pains since then. Had to stop all activities !! So annoying. Just never felt fully recovered. Don't even have flat feet. Just hyper mobile first ray and low arches
