One interesting fact about Finitevus I found by reading through archives of the official Archie Sonic blog is that Finitevus actually incited the Dark Legion Civil War as a way of testing whether Remington or Lien-Da was the stronger candidate for Enerjak. And then when he decided to just use Knuckles instead, he just left them to continue fighting themselves. I think stuff like that is what makes Finitevus such a great villain for Knuckles. He's primarily a manipulator, in contrast to Knuckles' initial gullibility.
He really was a fantastic character and I really think just such a good villain as he was only ever really in it for himself. It's a shame that he's stuck in Archie.
I think he owns him based on a technicality. He created evil sonic (sonic in a jacket with sun glasses) and sense scourge is technically the same character he claims ownership. Or maybe it’s just cause sega doesn’t care enough to argue with him
@@janderson6756 that’s the exact technicality he _doesn’t_ own him. Sega just also doesn’t want to deal with anymore lawsuits so are afraid to bring them back (and never will now that archie has cancelled)

@@janderson6756 true. Do you know about the fan revival? I havent checked it out in a minute but there were a group of fans continuing the mecha Sally arc pre SGW. It was good and the art was amazing. Think it was called “the real archie sonic” or something along those lines.
Heck yeah! I know a lot of people gravitated towards Scourge but the smug always one step ahead attitude that Finitevus had really made him a good villain. Plus he didn't look like a knuckles copy-paste which is a win for me lol
What if Fintievus is also the last of the echidna race, and has been searching for Knuckles as a vessel for Enerjak so he can eradicate the heroes or extinct mankind just like Majin Buu.
Dr. Finitevus reminds me of Dr. Starline, the Sonic IDW variation. Though Starline is supposedly no more, I wonder if he could come back like Finitevus. Just a thought.
I've also noticed the similarities and even pointed it out in my Mr. Tinker Video! I'd love to do a video on Starline as I'm dipping my toes into more IDW content
I do sincerely appreciate this video for giving a streamlined look at this really intriguing character, but can I just say how much I love the pronounciation of Lien-Da's name as "Linda"! I can totally picture Sonic using that as a joking nickname for her. Heck, he might have, I can't remember, it's been a while since I read Archie Sonic.
It's been on my list for a while but the more I chip away at it the more I think it'll take me a while longer than I plan lol. Right now I'm trying to build a bit of a cushion of extra videos to schedule so I can have uninterrupted time to work on it!
16:12 Dr.F may also be inspired by the Fleetway character dr. Zachary . Both are white Echidna . Both have relationship the knuckles . both are evil Tho Zachary has a unexplained reason for being evil since the comic ended however from what was stated he seemed to be abandoned by the Echidna Clan and that made him hate the world.
I do kind of remember reading something like that online before. I don't know much about the Fleetway comics so it seems to have slipped my mind but that would have been a good fun fact!

The fire ant is pronounced like ark-y, cuz it's short for Archimedes. One of his earliest appearances had an editor's box explaining the pronunciation of that nickname.

If there's one talented Voice Actor who would be absolutely perfect for voicing Dr. Finitevus if he was the Main Villain in the next Mainline Sonic game then it would have to be Clancy Brown.
Great video I think the next character should cover should be Espio as from what I remember he has a very interesting backstory in the comic. I also need someone to explain that panel with him walking away from an explosion like what is going on there

Man I sure do love when ken penders makes several hundred echidna and other species recolors, then pulls them from a good comic series right as it’s getting good, then acts like a little child and charges hundreds of thousands for them to be used, makes his own shitty comic series with them, and then turns them into NFTs. When he dies I hope the characters either go back to sega or become open rights

Not at all! I have one more Sonic video that I'm in the middle of editing and I have a shorter one that I might do after to give myself a break from characters with longer stories. But Enerjak is one I was considering doing in the future and if you're interested in him then I could look into it!
I believe female echidna names are just supposed to be pronounced normally without the - so Lien-Da would just be Lienda, Juli-Su would just be Julisu or Jani-Ca would just go Janica. The latter part is supposed to be some type of maiden name. Fun little thing here, if a female is hosting Enerjak, you could say their maiden name becomes Jak. So, Juli-Su would become Juli-Jak, Lien-Da becomes Lien-Jak and so on.

It does give real Phantom Zone vibes lol. Although tbh I have no idea if it was Penders who initially invented it. He does seem to be a DC and Marvel fan and has snuck in some little nods to them so it wouldn't surprise me
