Easy answers to these common false Oneness questions: 1). The Father Son relationship is eternal as clearly taught grammatically and contextually in John 1:1, John 17:5, Philippians 2, Proverbs 30 . Thus, the Holy Spirit is the mere agent of conception but cannot be the Father since the the Father/Son relationship existed PRIOR to His birth in Bethlehem. 2). Psalm 18:3 tells us to pray to Yahweh....2 Corinthians 13:14 is a benediction by Paul. But benediction is what? Invocation, and invocation is PRAYER. Paul is invoking Christ to pour out His grace , for God the Father to fill every believer with love for one another and for the Holy Spirit to produce perfect fellowship amongst the body of believers. Benediction is invocation which is indeed PRAYER, and who is Paul invoking for prayer? 3 divine persons (Father, Son, and HOLY SPIRIT). 3). As to DIVINE NATURE, they are indeed coequal and coeternal, but as to personhood they are distinct. And it was the Son who was incarnate who voluntarily laid aside His divine perogatives to become a servant. And because He laid aside His divine perogatives, the Father was greater in regard to POSITION. The Father wasnt being followed around and harrassed by Pharisees all day who were watching His every move and waiting for Him to make a mistake so they could accuse Him... However, parents are also greater than their children also in regard to postion, yet, parents and children are EQUAL AS TO THEIR NATURE. Thus, if Jesus is the Son then that mandates He is of the same nature of the Father i.e eternal. 4). The Son voluntarily laid aside divine perogatives as taught in Philppians 2. Scripture clearly teaches He is fully God and became fully man. That is precisely why the Bible records Jesus speaking sometimes in His divinity and sometimes in His humanity. And very simply Matthew 24 and Mark 13 record Jesus speaking in His humanity. But, it honor God if we harmonize this recording with John 16:30, John 21:17, and Matthew 17;27 which tells us and demonstrates Jesus' OMNISCIENCE as it records Him in His divine nature. 5). Just because it does not specifically say He prayed to the Holy Spirit does not merit anyone to ASSUME He did not communicate withe the Holy Spirit. This is simply ignorance and we know that absence of evidence is NOT evidence of absence. 6). When He said let this cup pass, He was clearly speaking as man..However, you conveniently quote HALF the verse and ignore what it goes on to say; NEVERTHELESS NOT MY WILL BE DONE BUT YOUR WILL...Thus, His will was in complete alignment with the Father and Holy Spirit. 7). Matthew 28 says ONOMA (singular) because there is ONLY one God. Yet, the one name of Yahweh is shared by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit which grammatically are 3 distinct persons. This supports the doctrine of the Trinity. 8). In Matthew 28:19 Jesus gives us a SPECIFIC BAPTISMAL FORMULA to be followed. If you dont baptize in the 3 fold name then you are disobeying Jesus' clear command and rejecting the word of God. Second, ONOMA is synonmous with "power" and "authority". Thus, The NT doesnt have to satisfy your standards and include extreme details such as the 3 fold name every time someone got baptized. Since the 3 divine persons are working in perfect unity, a simple harmony of scripture is sufficient to communicate to us that the name of Jesus is synonomous with and represents the authority of Yahweh (the Triune God). And this is what Jesus taught Himself. In fact, the Didache and the writings of the ECF's confirm that baptism was done precisely as Jesus commanded - in the name of the Father , Son, and Holy Spirit. 9). The Pre-incarnate Son was speaking to Abraham. This messenger was called God like Jesus in the NT, could forgive sins like Jesus in the NT, and was worshipped like Jesus in the NT. No mere angel could ever do such a thing. Thus, we are not speaking about a mere angel. In fact, the Targums idenfy this specific messenger as the MEMRA, which means the Word of God. Thus, they recognized the Word of God as a divine person distinct from the Father and this Word of God was worshipped, interacted with Abraham, forgave sin, and was called God in light of strict monotheism. Once again, this support the Trinity. 10). We are indeed made in the image of God and God desire us to be like Him. However, God used plural pronouns when He spoke of creating humanity. Thus, Adam facilitated two persons as taught in Genesis. In other words, How can Eve be Adam and yet be DISTINCT from Adam and married to Adam? Simple. She possess' the same nature as Adam but is distinct from Adam in regard to person hood. 11). It was the Holy Spirit that move over the waters. How do we know? Because the term Spirit of God, Spirit of Yahweh, or the Spirit ALWAYS refers to the THE Holy Spirit. In fact, the phrase the Holy Spirit is never used for anyone else in the Bible except for this distinct Spirit/divine person. So, Moses was not at all confused about WHO hovered over the waters 12). Catholics recognize God as He revealed Himself in scripture - as Triune. They also embrace the orthodox core doctrines of the crucifixion and Resurrection. Thus, they believe God for how He chose to reveal Himself. 13). Yes it is a heaven or hell issue. Why? a denial of God's Triune nature rejects the clear teaching of scripture. It is defined as heresy. It mocks the word of God and makes God look like a psycho who talks to Himself. It is a false Gospel. It undermines Pauls teaching that those who embrace a false Gospel will be ANATHEMA (that is the strongest word for caution and means to be set aside for destruction). If the Bible treats heresy serious and gives a very harsh warning against embracing it - then it'll do us good if we do too!

Instead we are commanded not to. “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭ Unless every man only refers to some men figuratively as seems to be the mainframe hermeneutic nowadays. We are not called to be Calvinists. We do not follow Calvin, nor put our trust in him and his system. However, we believe in the gospel as believed by Irenaeus, Polycarp, and John. They believed in election, just as the Puritans. But Calvin must be thrown aside for the gospel of Christ alone! I would not model my life after him, nor get upset if people despise him.
