Tip! If you are stuck between buying the two definitely get the 1460 Bex smooth leather ones. They are the perfect length not too chunky yet not too flat. I have these and the are the perfect docs I’ve bought!
I have a serious health condition that makes my legs extremely swollen and never thought I would fit into any docs. Tried 101 ambassadors on last week snd they actually fit which was amazing but they were very tight across the bridge. Never thought I would ever even get them on my feet due to swelling and it's a bucket list deal for me. Ordered more to try on at home so trying to find my perfect fitting pair now. Keep rocking!
I got Jadons and I absolutely love them . I love all type of shoes with quite a larger platform , Alexander McQueens , platformed converses . I love that it makes me taller . I didn’t have to break them in and they’re actually quite comfy , I just hate the leather inside touchy my skin . I’m definitely going to get 1460 next
I first purchased the Jadon platform boots and they were notttt what I expected. They were unbearably huge and uncomfortable as all heck. I’m 5’0, they looked odd on me, maybe it’s my body type since I’m curvy and don’t have longer lines but still not so great. They’re also super difficult to DRIVE in which is a hazard for me and they created red rings around my ankles that still haven’t gone away... this was a month ago. I ended up purchasing the 1460 smooth leather, I love them. Didn’t hurt my feet at all, I’m pregnant so they’re comfy for my feet and I wear them to work. I’m on my feet from 7:40-3 so if I can do it so can you! They also go with a lot more than the giant Jadons do! Hope this was helpful 🙂✌🏻
I’m also curvier and found that the Jadons didn’t fit like how I thought when I tried them on in store. Just got the 1460 smooth leather and they look a lot better and will be great for walking for my commute in the city.
Here I am kicking myself ( a little) because I wanted the big platform ones, but after reading what you said, I guess I made the right choice going with 1460’s (OG’s). I think they’re very comfortable. I just got mine last Monday! And I’ve gotten so many compliments! I inspired my friend to get a pair the other day lol
Omg this is the video I needed!!! I have been thinking about buying my first pair of doc martens and I have been going back and forth between the two styles. After listening to you I think I am probably just going to buy the classic pair!
Great video and tips Charlotte 🤜🤛😊 I'm a huge Dr. Martens fan and got my first pair in November 2011, since then I've got a mini collection, which is, 2 pairs of 1460's, 1 of which are my first pair, 1 pair of 1461's, 1 pair of 1490's, 1 pair of MIE 1914's, 1 pair of Jadon's and a pair of 8761 BXB, and also have some Doc's sandals too. The only ones I've found that I've had to break in was my made in England 1914's, oh yes, I had plenty of sores with that pair haha 😂, and my sandals still hurt now, so last year, I resorted to putting wonder balsam on the inside of them and wearing socks with them to try and break them in 😊. I'm 6ft 1" tall, so my Jadon's make me 6ft 3", I like yourself love chunky boots and trainers and the way they look 😁👌 I've put my Doc's through a lot and they've held up really well so far 👌.
Because there's nothing that says more "emo" and "grunge" than hurting inside (your boots) Not a hate comment xD I have a pair of the jadon and they do hurt in the begining and yes WEAR GOOD SOCKS!!
I'm 6'3 and wear Jadons daily, you can never be too tall. I've a collection of about nine pairs of Doc;s and the Jadons are my go to although I adore them all. Some tips are, Don't buy a pair and expect to wear them for a full day if you're busy on your feet... short wears for a few occasions are much better otherwise you may have a day of hell. Secondly, consider two pairs of thin socks, Imo better than a thick pair. Finally, enjoy being loud and proud, you and they will be noticed.
@@noxololanga8257 Hello. For boots I bought my normal size but for my Mary Janes I bought a full size down. I had to size down from a size 8 to a size 7.
Hi there! I already have two pair of docs and I’m afraid of how the vegan ones might not break in as the other ones! Can you tell me about your experience? Thanks in advance🌞
@@lui5207 many people say that the vegan ones dont break in as much and also tend to fail sooner, i think its also unfair that they charge you the same price for an obviously less expensive material. do you wanna get the vegan ones because of morality or the environment? in case you want them for the environment they are actually doing worser than the leather ones in that regard
I want to buy my first pair of Dr Martens and I love the jadon but I'm afraid to don't love them the next year so I will test these two before buying it. But I live in France and sometimes it's difficult to find my size or the jadon :(
It will forever be a mystery to me how everyone has a hard time breaking in docs. I own three different pairs (the 1460 Pascals, the 2976 chelsea boots and the Molly‘s) and I didn’t have to break them in at all. The first time I wore the 2976s I wore them for eleven hours straight and walked all day and I only had small red spots on my heel that were gone the next morning.
@@Carina0145 hi! I’m between two shoe sizes and tried the 1460 smooths in the smaller of those two sizes and they were perfect, the 1460 pascals were too small in that size so I got them in the bigger size and then they were perfect
I agree, with the breaking in part. I’ve been wearing Docs since 2001. I’ve had several pairs & styles even the sandals. Currently I have 6 pairs and I’ve NEVER had a problem with breaking them in. I wouldn’t of brought so many pairs if I had a problem with breaking them in, I hate to be comfortable even if it’s for a few minutes. I’ve got all my docs in my usually size Women’s 10. And never ever felt uncomfortable for a minute, not even with the Jadon, which I have 2 pairs. A white pair & black pair. I just love Dr. Martens, I highly recommend them, great investment❤️!!!
so i just ordered a pair today because i work fast food and i wanted shoes that look cute and are non slip because i always forget to bring work shoes and i have friends who also work fast food and wear the jadons but they come in 4 days and i really hope i’m not disappointed
I love the Jadons and I was brought up on Doc martens. They are great for going out ! I do have 2 pair of the original 1460s. One pair for work and the other if I know I will be doing a lot of walking. I don't wear heals so the Jadon are my go too when out on the town.
@@MarieJesne I do my distance walking in the regular 1460s. Although the Jadons are so comfortable but long distance is probley not good because they are heavy. I also tend bar in the regular 1460s.
Thanks Charlotte! I’ve wanted a pair of docs for ages, but I always get put off with the wearing them in bit. I didn’t know you can get the softer leather ones.. thanks again, super helpful! 💖
I had a pair of 8 eyes in highschool but I broke them in on hills in Sf. I was wearing the standard police boots for work but now I just got a pair of 10 eyes and just finished the second night of work in them. I bought them on sunday
As some of your photos presented by RU-vid and because I am searching for informations about Dr martens boots as I buy my firtmsr pair and I have a problem with my feet moviving inside-out on the boot when I walk.. I would like to ask you if you know what can I do to prevent this? Also I tie the boot tightly until the 8 the hole lace! Thank you!
Hi ! Late to the game but just considering buying myself a pair soon :) Are you saying you should fully size up considering you wear a couple of pairs of socks especially for winter ? Thanksss
Hello! Love your videos and this one was super helpful. I have the 1460 doc martens but I struggle quite a bit on how to wear them. Could you make a styling video for the 1460 doc martens please! 🤍✨
I really love your video i was asking me if there are a diferences between jadon to 1460' sizes, you have the same size ? Will be sooo helpfull me your answer. Thank u!! 😊
I was asking that, because i bought my first pair of DM, if was jadon ones but they were too big and i didnt like the vibe so i send it back 💔and i am thinking to buy a classic one but i am not sure that they are the same size with the jadon ones if they are i will size down because my last experince with jadon ones.please your answer will be helpful.🙌
I have 5 pair my absolute go to are the Black pascal soft leather ones theyre sooo comfy . Didnt need to be broken in . All mine fit true to size I couldnt decide between the two leathers so originally i bought both the soft and shiny
I personally think there isn't too much of a difference in the English and abroad ones. my father has a pair of each and he says that unless he actually looks inside the boot he can only visually see a few small differences but apart from that to him they feel the same. He also has a really old pair though (about 20 years old, they're pretty dead) and he says there's much more of a difference between how they used to be to how they are now compared to English and abroad. In summary: don't feel different only look a small bit different on the inside
They're called cigarette bands. The easiest way to get hold of them is to buy mens gold wedding rings in your size (if you are willing to spend a bit of money otherwise I'm sure shein will have some similar)
@@dsm9461 Hey! I went to try some on today and I’m a US Woman 8-8.5. For the Jaden, a size 7 fit perfectly. While with the other pair, size 7 was too tight, so I got a size 8!
Iv been obsessing over docs and as soon as there is a store where I live corona comes back 😭( my mum isn’t letting me order them online in case they are the wrong size and stuff)
I am normally a size 10 but if I get a 9 and break them in, do the shoes stretch a lot? 9 is a little snug but was not sure what it would be like once they are worn. The 9 look significantly smaller on me. With that said, comfort is most important to me in the long run.
I would get the 10 because I think they will be more comfortable in the long run. I haven’t found mine to stretch enough to make a size smaller work. Also if your 10 really stretches that much you can add inserts and it will probably snug them up again. I only think you should size down if you’re a half size or if the specific style runs large. That’s just my experience.
@@michellefaith1705 question is for how long they are still going, its just a fact that leather is more durable than vegan "leather". they should be cheaper too because material costs should be lower, so you are basically paying the same for less imho
