Dr Otek MTXE Iron Discrimation?Does it Work?

@@Hadesdetecting thank you have watched quite a few of your videos as I’m gonna start off on local beaches not hoping to find much but is easier to dig out with the dry land I have secured some old farm land with fisheries on when I’m more confident to dig a place where my dad works there is definitely a gold chain and his wedding ring on that land somewhere so hoping to find them xx

Hi thanks for watching the channel.. welcome.Start with the sensitivity on 2 and see how it goes,could be mineralised ground giving false signals,if you get an iffy target try altering the swing north/south east /west.If in doubt maybe dig everything for a short while to see if anything is there? sometimes I start in all metal then discriminate out iron .I get sounds from all my machines and over time you'll subconsciously know what to dig and what to stop and investigate,if you do think it's a machine problem DrOtek are very good,contact them on Facebook for a fast reply as they seem to use that alot,join the DrOtek pages as others will provide knowledge also.Good luck hope this helps

@@Hadesdetecting Thanks for your reply. I'm sure the frustration I'm getting at the moment is down to my lack of knowledge and experience but will take you're advice and contact Dr Otek. I've learned a lot through youtube vids and its possible that the permission I have is not necessarily ideal... being an old coal mining area with a hight iron content soil, that's often saturated, that said a more experienced detectorist would fair better no doubt. I'll keep practicing. Cheers.

Hi again, since our last communication I've been out and definitely improved my detecting, not found anything significant yet but I'm getting better at identifying and finding actual targets. I do have a question though I've heard detectorist talk about 'ground balancing', a feature not available on the Dr Otek mt-xe, but what is ground balancing (sorry if it's a stupid question)and what other features should I really need should I upgrade my detector at some point? Thanks.

TBH There isn't a great deal in it,iron separation is better with the MTXE as shown in the video.Niether have a bigger coil at present but I think DR OTEK are looking into developing one.Id pick the MTXE for the customer service as it seems to be spot on so any issues are resolved very quickly (plus if a bigger coil does come out bonus).Cheers for watching and Happy new year

Only thing I was wondering about is if you knew a release date on there new pinpointer you reviewed? Would grab one just now but I would rather get theres if It'll be released soon. Thanks alot 😎

@@lucianowatson2831 great stuff much appreciated,there still isn't a definite date yet as I think some modifications are going to be made to it, personally I thinks it's brilliant as is and would highly recommend one been using it as my main pointer and am very happy.
