Hi Dr Pal. I worked as an air hostess and I think I am the right person to tell u why they don’t add fibre in the meal especially during long flights. You know what happens if you have fibre intake right? With just 2/4 toilets for around 250-300 passengers!! Should I explain more😂

lol I don’t think you have ever travelled by an air India flight, it’s the only flight that provides you all meals depending on your flight journey time, even a flight from Mumbai to Delhi has meal provided by Air India, at no extra cost.

@Dr.Pal It is a industry practice. On long flights they dont want passengers line up at the toilet during the flight or at the airport. They create conditions to manage the herd using lighting, food, lines etc. I dont think any airline provides daily requirement of fibre on a long flight.

They don’t care about any other thing except cost. Package of food is usually cheap, easy for logistics and comes with better shelf life😅 As a passenger one should only consume healthy options and carry own food such as roasted nuts etc

@@vaibhav3946oh really? Please do watch how food is being prepared for flights. They take so much care into preparing their food. Just don’t blatantly accuse someone. Also, do you realise that high fiber foods are not good during the flight? Our body is under lower pressure than we usually are. And also, Dr PAL’s advice is good for everyday life, not for air travel.

I completed a Air India trip last week and did not take any food and snack throughout as it was a night flight n not in eating window. People were weirded out as I was refusing free food. That’s the impact you have made. Thanks for doing what you do. Really inspiring 😊

Excellent! My parents also insist not to eat at "Untimely hours". Finish dinner early and eat nothing more. We ate before we travelled so we don't need to eat during beginning of travel. We only ate during the next meal time and mom prepared home cooked meals. We travelled via trains. The worst meals are the food given in trains. All poor quality. One video even revealed that they used bathroom water to make tea!! Thankfully we never ate anything from any trains ever.

A person who's healthy died in his early 50's and a person who is unhealthy eats what he wants junk foods, alcohol,smokes,etc died in his 90's Take home message : Life is uncertain so don't restrict yourself so much like this granpa...live happily keep ur mind clear eat what you like but in a properly balanced proportion and every day eat fiber rich foods and probiotics for gut backup ❤...trust me you'll live long...

Protein is required only for growing kids, pregnant ladies and sports person. For normal adults small amounts of protein that we get from vegetarian diet is enough. Recent studies shows most of the diseases are caused because of protein over dose.

i also took a flight from the US to India on another airline! Got similar meals. Shared the photos of what i ate and i left the rice and ate the chicken. Did not open the yogurt with the sugar added to it. Did not eat the piece of bread. Later before landing str just the omlette.

By using dry fruit , chia seeds pumpkin sunflower seeds flax seeds and by roasting all types of dal and barley too you can make a much nutritious powder .you can cook a tablespoon of the powder in a glass of milk or water and drink it.

Bharaths food science is ahead. Its true rice has carbs hence spices have been added to it to aid in digestion of the same and balance the sugar levels. Coming to the point why there is increase in sugar levels in india is purely a lifestyle orinted problem and not due to rice. Just have to walk and lift weights regularly to solve it. Our food does not have issues. Its pretty healthy.

I'm a drinker (ok heavy drinker) but i don't think they should serve alcohol on planes. It hits you harder and it doesn't seem safe, i mean what if there's an emergency? Also it's very overpriced like everything else.

In my experience you have options to get balanced meal with fiber protein and carbs on airlines. Opt for vegan food. Airlines give options it is just that people are looking for more tastier alternatives to satisfy their tongues, and body is neglected. It is all about the choices we are passengers make.

I don't drink alcohol. Very keen on vegetarian food quality. I had a list of dialysis friends all non alcoholic and all are vegetarian. We all ended up having dialysis and the majority died.
