Hi. My best friend from Chicago have bought this 2 Prolong items. Hi and his two friends have buy together because it’s expensive and all three have Toyota Prius. They have tested battery percent in cars before recognition and they have battery health between 45-65%. After recognition battery health was much more better, almost 78-95%. But after just 4 months after recognition they all have the same similar problems with batteries in all 3 cars. So my friend remove battery from the car and have change 3 bad cells in battery pack and now everything it’s ok.
The prolong system won't fix a bad battery , it will merely prolong their lifespan as much as possible , buying individual cells is something that is bound to happen due to the nature of batteries. Keep on routinely using the charger once every 3-6 months and you will extract more months of lifetime from your batteries

You Balance the voltage better with it but from your internal resistance reading, it shows you battery is no longer good. Dr. Prius battery capacity test is only rough estimate based on short load. Not continuous process for hours of driving. It's accurate if it said bad, but not when it said good just from recent balancing from override charging with prolong
It is FALSE READING from LIMITATION of the Dr. PRIUS apps. Actual capacity and condition is still bad. I guarantee that as someone who works in battery Research. You cannot recondition any battery once it already degraded, just false reading.
Thanks Dr. Prius. I have a 2010 Gen III with 236K miles on it. Original battery. Very anxious to hear about these follow-up test results too! Also interested in the new battery mentioned by David Stewart below.
Seriously looking forward to your follow up videos, the prolong charger taking your battery from 40something% to 💯 is pretty incredible. I think we all want to know how long the effects last though, and how doing it multiple times effects it. For example if you do this "prolong maintenance" like 2-3x a year how much can you get out of your battery.

As others have commented: how is the battery holding up now that it's been several months since you posted this video? I just did a test on my Prius today and got 57% which is still considered in fair shape, but it also says two of the blocks are in poor balance. It's not my main vehicle so I'm not exactly worried about it, but it'd be nice to know if this product is a good path forward, or if I should just consider replacing individual cells or even just buying a whole new pack. The same maker of the app used in the video says that they've sourced and designed a pack that they intend to sell sometime later this year, and they claim it is half the weight of the OEM HV battery but 4x the energy density for less than the cost of an OEM replacement. Presents an interesting option.
Yes, good battery shows homogenous internal resistance asst about 24m ohm. When this internal resistance is no longer 24m ohm, it's already degrading. My Corolla hybrid 2015 was always parked in garage and at 62k miles, it shows that. But my older 2006 prius was like yours before one module completely shot

Tbh my car has 170k miles. Im considering just buying one of these instead of a refurbished battery. How can one balance the battery? Does this balance the cells as well? Does the battery need to be disconnected while installing the prolong product(to avoid high voltage danger). Just curious before I spend 700$ on it.! But what I'm seeing and hearing its a great product,.

Don't waste your money in false hope. Battery is degrading and kind of rotten lemon, you can try to squeze some of the juice but will not make it fresh again. Call Toyota North America and ask for their goodwill and let them choose which dealer and recycling program and get new battery for about $2500 that will last another 12-15 years or longer if you kept it in the garage.
It cycles the battery pack in a very different way than the car ever does. This affects the cell chemistry and has two primary benefits: (1) restores lost capacity due to voltage depression (memory effect), and (2) equalizes the voltage across all of the cells in the battery pack. The benefit of doing this once every six months can extend the life span of the original battery pack for multiple years

It may be good for good healthy 4-5 years battery but not for dead or dying battery.
@my two cents This technology is well established within the RC car and airplane industry since the 1990's. However it applies to NiMh cells only. This does not work on Lithium battery based EVs.
