Proctor is truly an unsung social gospeler. I attend the seminary that carries his name, The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

Sam Proctor a legend indeed! I still remember his eulogy done by the Dean himself the great Gardner Taylor … “Sam it’s me Gardner … Sam …. It might be that my name is next on the books… Sam if it be so will you come down and , meet me at the runway… Sam“ Lawd!! Both now gone! Thank you for this sermon…

Dr. Procter was known for his stories. He told me once, don't steal my stories. That's all I have.
