Dr. Shefali is such an amazing soul. I read Radical Awakening a couple of years ago and she has had such an impact on my life. It is as you both mentioned a bittersweet revelation and brutal exercise but consciously moving through the topics of the book are positively essential if you wanna finally release all of those constructs of civilization. Dr Shefali is so right about Vipassana meditation. Anyone can pursue this in a retreat center to learn for themselves and don’t let the $ stop you because you decide upon the amount. ❤
I can listen to Dr. Shefali all day. She has helped me with my ''radical awakening'' since the first page of her book. Layers upon layers of conditioning and belief systems are now coming to light and I am tackling each one. And you're so right Kelly. ''once you turn on the light we can't go back'', nor do I want to...I don't choose to. As difficult as this journey is...it is necessary for our inner peace, joy, health and self-love. Thank you Kelly for bringing Dr Shefali onto your podcast. Being a male, I became so interested in her work when I first listened to her on Lewis Howes' podcast, The School of Greatness. I listened to A Radical Awakening on Audible and it helped me have a better understanding of this long standing paradigm of the patriarchy while working through my own divorce. Wouldn’t death of ego mean making it work for family/kids?? Ending a relationship is ego the I for whatever reason wants out Even if it’s because of trauma. Can’t we heal/grow without ego but keeping family together? Children are the ones that lose in divorce.
