I was given prescription tretinoin and my face did not tolerate it well even at .25%. I took your advise and went to a provider that has the Skinbetter line and have had no problems with the AlphaRet serum. I am able to use both the Alto Defense and the AlphaRet together now. Thank you so much for all the information you put on here.

I have used all of these and agree with splurging on the vitamin C, retinol, but not so much sunscreen (even though I love Elta MD) because you should reapply often without skimping. Thank you for mentioning the Hawaii sunscreen ban/compliance. Aloha from Hawaii!

Hello, my friend! Some strips are okay to do infrequently but I need to do a video of some harsh ones that have ripped skin off so definitely be careful! I don’t recommend pore vacuums.

Dr Sugai, really enjoy your channel. I just started using La Roche Posay B3 Serum. I noticed in one of you videos applying a few drops all over your face including under the eyes. In the instructions it says to avoid the eyes. So many different opinions on RU-vid’s so can it be applied under the eyes and eyelids or not?

Thank you so much for this video. I wanted to ask you about the Senate derma contour pressed serum lifting compact due you think this product is worth the 200$. It's supposed to help with firming for face and around the eyes. I would like to know what you think about it and if maybe there's something else I'm not sure. Hey I have the cf phloretin, serum is amazing. But as soon as I put my cream on it burns my face..before the serum the cream never burned me . I have combination skin. My cream is also very fluid ..any thoughts?

I don't mind spending the money if something is proven to work. However, I don't understand why they put such a pricy formula in a dropper bottle. Everyone always talks about vitamin C being unstable and how quickly it can oxidize. So WHY put it in a bottle that lets air in every time you use it??? I use a vitamin C serum that comes in a pump container. I can't say it's AS effective, but at least it keeps it "fresher" longer.

I buy the pumps from NIOD and put them in my dropper bottles. They’re $2.50. It stupid that we have to do this, but it does help a lot with Vitamin C.

Wahoo!! Happy New Year Dr. Sugai! I love Skinbetter science! I get it at my derm's office. I'm obsessed with the Alto serum! I actually just ran out and need to repurchase. I also have the AlphaRet overnight cream but haven't used it. That's one of my resolutions for this year. Interesting perspective on splurging on sunscreen. Nothing wrong of course with doing so especially if your budget allows, but the cost should not otherwise be a deterrent to correct and liberal application.

Agreed but unfortunately cheaper formulas typically are often not attractive cosmetically, and can take forever to rub in.

I just came across your video! It’s wonderful, I just purchased my first bottle of SkinCeuticals vitamin C E Ferulic serum, I wanted to know in which step of the morning skin care routine should I apply this product? I use La Mer and I’ve been using it for about nine years now and I wanted a vitamin C to add to my routine. So my daily ritual is that I cleanse my face, I exfoliate my face only twice a week, then I use the La Mer treatment lotion Follow by the La Mer serum then I apply the new La Mer hydrating infused emulsion serum and after that I apply my crème de La Mer cream and sunscreen. It would be very helpful if you can let me know on which step I should use my vitamin C serum? Thank you and have a lovely day.

Skinceuticals Vitamin C is the only product that has research to back up claims that it actually works. All other Vitamin C’s are up for debate if they actually work or not since they don’t have any research to prove their claims.

Skinceuticals has a patent on their vitamin c technology for a few more years. Theirs is the only one clinically proven to work well.
