Usually it begins to happen over years of constantly watching asmr. Especially when people begin watching asmr in the day time when doing daily tasks. For me, i don’t do that and my tingle immunity is mild as i only listen before bed. I think it also has to do with certain sounds that are common within asmr such as taping and scratching. Overall though, everyone has different brains so what doesn’t change for you may change for someone else overtime 😊
Appreciate the misophonia mention, it's the opposite of asmr & I've suffered since childhood, i dislike tapping & can't stand mouth sounds. Yet i love the chilled out vibes of asmr videos ha
I have misophonia, also since childhood. Some ASMR tapping is ok for me, it's different from a random person being fidgety and tapping. I read that someone had good results with reducing misophonia after going carnivore, if you wanted to look into that. Dr. Shawn Baker Podcast has many videes of people sharing their experiences with all sorts of health issues, including mental (misophonia, anxiety, etc).
