This is ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!! I had to fight the system to avoid my grandson from being stagnated in Special Education! I was called a grandmother in denial because I fought for him. I never allowed anyone tell him he was limited. I kept the bar raised. He graduated high school, graduated a community college in graphic art design and then completed a 4 year program at the Art Institute with his BA. The parent or guardian must be motivated and informed on how to help their children.

Yessssss!!! Grandma, I'm a school psychologist who facilitates IEP meetings and writes IEP. We welcome input from parents. We want them in the meetings as part of the team. As professionals, we DONT know everything and in a high school setting, we def don't know our freshman in the first 4 months of school, we need parents, grandparents, uncles and aunties, cousins... we need you all at these meetings. It truly takes a village. Congrats to your grandson on the attainment of his BA. A fantastic accomplishment. 🤓👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽✨

My ears pricked up when Dr Umar said "the education sector is dominated by teachers who are white females". That's also true here in new Zealand 🇳🇿. I spent my entire childhood being uninspired and abused by those women. Although it's too late for my generation, I made damn sure I was gonna send my kids to our indigenous schools that are not as well resourced as the colonial schools, but our kids graduate happy and healthy on all levels and NONE go to jail. And we have over 30 years longitudinal research to back that claim. My point, no one loves our people more than we do. Your guys Dr Umar is 💯 correct.

As a parent of a child who was special education classes. I made sure my child was in a combination of classes. Two of his classes were special Ed, and the other 4 were not. This is why it's important to attend all IEP meetings. This way, you know your child's needs. You must be available as a parent and constantly be involved. In your child's education. At the end of the day, the responsibility falls in your hands. My son went on to get his College Degree, great job, nice apartment. High five to my son and a pat on the back for mommy. 💯💥💯

The Dr is not wrong. Someone these educators are unethical and care Not for black students education. I myself was (my dads job transferee him from NYC to CA). I was in a kindergarten/1st grade program. After relocation my parents were convinced by the Cupertino school to start me in kindergarten the next year. Even at that age it was a blow to my self esteem. Soon after my parents were told I had a “speech impediment”. I did Not. Anyways, during recess I had special classes to learn sign language. Forward a few years, my mom gets divorced and relocated back to NYC. When enrolled in class, my mom asks about my “special needs” and is told I had NONE. Other than the sign language I always scored average and above. After HS grad. I married and went to community college and a trade school, always on honor roll. Today the educational is still unbalanced. The best was can do for our kids starts at home.

They just go through school and once they get a certain age they give them a certificate of participation they don't get a diploma. Then there are those that can function in a regular class room so they leave them there and a SN teacher goes to them in the regular classroom.

He is correct about Special Education. I've witnessed it as an educator and while working with SPED class as an assistant. The SPED teacher worked with K and 1st grade students. She told me that if she did not push them out of SPED in first grade, they would never get out. She knew they might struggle a little in the regular classroom initially, but with the EIP (not IEP/SPED) program, they would still get additional assistance without the label. I also agree about building relationships with students. It does work, but you have to be willing to put in the work as an educator.

He's psychologically manipulating people, he's alarming black people with negatives situations cause he knows some of yall will praise him for it or most of yall because he's aiming at you. If you believe everything he says you'll push desperately against everyone else like for instance if someone else accomplishes something exclusive to them you'll target it for being excluded but when black people accomplish something for them they'll defend it and exclude anyone else cause you believe justified to covet anything valuable but if someone else does you'll speak against it cause everyone is your enemy like the Chinese built a road in Jamaica and Jamaicans pay a toll why? Because they built it and charge a toll for the maintenance but he makes their accomplishment black people's burden in Jamaica. People like this knows racism sells that what he's talking about will be listened to he will draw an audience and people will know him people will buy his books, platforms will pay him cause he'll get them ratings, views, likes and notoriety. Hands down, the BEST Dr. Umar interview I’ve seen yet; and I’ve watched many. When the interviewer lets him speak without interruption, Dr. Umar is at his best. There are some people, white and black, who have tried to vilify him the same way they did the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Whenever a black man or woman isn’t afraid to speak the truth about the plight of black people in America, “the powers that be” tries to discredit him/her, and convince the public that they’re “crazy” and/or immoral and divisive. Especially when they’re intelligent, articulate, and knowledgeable about the subject(s) of which they speak. Love him or hate him, the brother is droppin’ gems on this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

interesting. The Jamaican government needed Capital to build its infrastructure to increase the efficiency of trade by increasing its capability of travel from one side of the country to the other in shorter time. They asked the US Government, asked Europe and for help but was denied. China (for its own purpose) took the bill under the premise that Jamaica will pay it back with interest. instead of waiting on a country that could collapse and lose the investment, they decided it would be more lucrative to take control of the toll that they could under the Jamaican government increase it if needs be. plus, they get to spy on the government and US if they need to. it's pretty smart. I don't think China cares about colonizing as it cares about world dominance and the changing of the world order, they are just playing smart and it cost money, now they are trenched in the US backyard. it's the same reason why the US now is traveling to African countries to make up for lost ground (years of neglect) that the Chinese has yet to influence. the reality is that other small countries that has done well were supported by a major power. the African countries and Caribbean were used and overlooked. its all there in the history books. using all of Jamaica bauxite (sold for dirt cheap) and then bounce.

Dr.Umar is an essential part of our culture/community. He’s the intellectual leader we need for our generation need. He definitely understands the assignment, the part that touched me is when he said how does he add up to or measure up the ancestor like Marcus Garvey. He’s a prolific psychologist, every single bit of the truth.

He said he's related to Frederick Douglass, the famous abolitionist Frederick Douglass, the late Frederick Douglass married Jane Pitts back in 1884 she was white and she was 21 years younger than him Mr Frederick Douglass, and both families did not approve of the marriage, both Frederick Douglass and Pitts shared political reform interest and theatre interest, they both share the same interest, they both had the same things in common, like I said in a comment before, why the focus on black this black the other, why not focus on character of the person whether they are black or white, I know they are also black folk that are also races, even Dr Umar is a good speaker I personally do not agree on a lot of thing's he said, a woman or a man should marry whom ever they want to marry to, it should not base on a person skin color, just like back in the 1950 and 1960 black people had a right to education, and to ride the bus and to drink water from any fountain ⛲, any person have the right to marry whom ever they want, Even Mr Frederick Douglass said in a letter he wrote to his friend in 1884, He said what business has the world with the color of my wife skin color, Now I would say why only elaborate only on black kids why not help all kids, why not help all people, aren't we all human, none of us have black blood running through our vains none of us have white blood running through our vains, all humans are made of one blood, and all humans blood are tainted, because of the disobedience of Adam, all our blood is tainted, whether your color is white or black or yellow or cinnamon no matter the Color, that's why all of us need God Almighty, no one can fix the heart but God, and only God can fix the human family, and it starts with repentance, Act 2:38, you see we all can do our best, but it takes God Almighty to fix the total man or woman.
@jackyarrindel8375
@jackyarrindel8375 Год назад
Although I agree with somethings I do not agree with a lot of thing's that he is saying, why it's always black consciousness, why not human consciousness, we are all human, we are not human base on our skin color, and like I said none of us wether we are black or white or yellow or cinnamon, none of us have white blood running through our vains or black blood running through our vains or cinnamon blood running through our vains, all human are made of one blood, let's advocate human consciousness, how many of us are really pure black? Listen the slave master rape our mother's and grand mother's and great grandmother's and great great great grand mother's and daughters, and impregnate the women, back 100 of years ago, we all have some white in us, why you think some of us came out with very very light skin and green eyes or gray eyes, I think we need to stop dividing, let us help all people that need our help and stop the dividing people aren't we doing the same things that was done to blacks now we doing the same thing to whites in a nother form, we have racism is various forms, when you tell black people do not married out side your race, that's another form of racism.

Tears fell from my eyes for all the injustices happened to our people... I sit my 4 kids down and let them know that brothers do not touch or do certain things to their sister, or each other in no certain way and vice versa. If any family member touch them in certain ways to stop it and tell. I let them know that no one has the right to lay hands on them that would make them feel uncomfortable...
