When you said "The Original Vaseline" is a must-have, I straight away hit the subscribe button. And I said to myself, "I love this Doc!" I grew up using vaseline and have continued using it even on my children. Thanks Doc for such an informative video. ❤
Yes. I started using vaseline on my face because my face was dry and getting lines. My teenage son actually told me to use it. There has been an enormous difference in how my face looks and feels. Now, I mix the vaseline with my lotions as I used to do in the past.
You’re the reason why I started looking at the ingredients of all skincare products before I buy it! A bioderma and Avène skincare products review would be great!
Please do avene cleanance cleanser review. My local dermatologist recommend it but I saw fragrance in the list so reluctant to buy it. Would like to hear your review on it. 👍
Also keen for Bioderma sunscreens review. Recently found that they make a mineral sunscreen SPF 50 which they market for babies. Could only get it from a company in Portugal (direct or on eBay). Happy with it so far but so so so irritating to eyes that I can't put it anywhere near them. Even more irritating to eyes than the chemical sunscreens from Bioderma. Thank you for your hard work Dr V. You put a lot of time into educating us for free & it is much appreciated
Thank for passing to us all the information :) I would like to suggest a series of videos from an affordable range. 1.Morning routine 2.Evening routine 3.Extra care (sunscreens, facial mask, foundations, etc.). For A. Sensitive skin B. Oily skin C. Prone to redness skin Thank you
Hi, DR V, sorry for taking you time. How can I remove body hair without getting 'strawberry spots' everything I tried, I still get them. I love your channel and your energy, you have taught me so much!!
Exactly, even the original vaseline petroleum jelly available in India contains fragnance and some other ingredients which is totally different from the one dr. V recommended.
I was so scared before watching this video because I've used Vaseline on my body for 30 years. On my face too when I was younger and didn't any better. I have really dry skin and it keeps my skin soft and moisturized all day.
Thank you for being so considerate about budget friendly items. Budget friendly doesn’t mean it does not work. I have 3 daughters and myself so we are reading ingredients and understanding better what we need. Thank you so much.
I've been blessed with great skin. My entire 55 years of life so I never had to focus on solutions My 15 year old son's skin is a mess. I'm lost. 😭 I'm learning so much. Thank you!
Slugging (and only cleansing in the evening) is honestly the one thing that has made the biggest difference in the hydration of my skin and in repairing my skin barrier, would so highly recommend it to anyone!
A few years back, Indian market was flooding with Cocoa Butter products. Every brand put Cocoa Butter in their products & people used to buy them like crazy. Little did they know that it sits so high on the comedogenic scale. Thumbs up to the good work you are doing! 👍👍👍
Dr V - I want to say 🙏🏽 THANK you! Your teaching guidance and sharing of knowledge has transformed my skin. I literally have people asking me if I’m wearing make up or not and I always say no just sunscreen and immediately I’m told wow you have such nice skin!!! I haven’t heard that since my 20s so thank you!!!!
Thank you. Love your videos. I have been usually Vaseline petroleum jelly on my lips for over 40 years. So many people have told me how bad it was. So nice to hear that it is a good product from a qualified person. 💕
a video on fragrances would be great! also one on the brand Peach & Lily would be awesome too! particularly their glass skin serum. love your channel and I learn something new each time!
I stopped using vacaline on my lips because after I stopped using it for a short while I noticed that It drys out my lips and it made me more on depended on it. I nowadays use natural lip balm like bee's butter which i find much more nicer for my lips.
First of all thank you for taking time out to help your skin of color community. the only education i have on this topic is thanks to you . Extremely grateful to you doc. Now my question is regarding the original petroleum jelly. You mentioned the 3 ingredients it should have. I went online to check and i literally could not find the original with the ingredients you mentioned. The ones i found have mineral oil, paraffin, microcrystelline wax, vit e and fragrance :/ I've been searching the internet for the past hour. I am from India. I did find the round tin lip balm with the right ingredients. But not the tub
Hey dr V We are eagerly waiting for you to make a video from The Minimalist (indian Brand) for pores and pigmentation and acne marks. Would love a video on that. Thanks. Much love❤️
Dr. Vanita please tell us an anti aging and proper care routine for our body, as we do not have time, and even budget to use various steps of care for body as we can do for skin. Please tell us a routine for it, and some product recommendations too ❤ And i heard babchi oil is good for anti-aging and it has similar effect of it, without being irritating, can you plead tell us about it.
Yes doc plz do a video on closed comedones and white heads..... do they itch? Do they reoccur even after using gud BHA and niacinamide containing moisturiser...very stubburn..plz help🙏
@@nandikabhat9316 Its the same thing!! Actually its the medical name for whiteheads! Whiteheads *are* closed comedones, meaning that its not exposed to air, hence isn't oxidised to black - which is what happens with blackheads or open comedones! Yep, salicylic acid is the best ingredient to use for comedones Hope this helps! 😊
Thank you so much for this!!!! So helpful! Would you be able to do a review on Aveeno? Also, in Canada there is a brand called "Live Clean" they are an all natural brand that sells in all the regular drug marts and shops. Would you be able to shed some light on that brand? Love your channel so much!! Your advice has really changed my entire thought process and makes me feel so much more confident in my purchasing choices. Also, my skin has never looked better!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thanks again!!
Dr V, I've watched your video about exfoliation . Undoubtedly it was very informative for us skin of color !❤️ But can you please make a video about body exfoliation and body care for skin of color ? ❤️
Hi Doctor , thats very interesting.. i like to buy the vaseline original which is best i feel rather than any other vaseline products..that very very informative .
HI yes please to a fragrance video - especially categories of which are the most sensitising. As a thought, the cocoa butter lotion shown does come in a white fragrance free formula I have used and liked well enough for my body. Despite the marketing it isn't really rich enough for really dry/damaged skin (apart from Summer) as a stand alone product. I use it when just out of the shower and then apply my much thicker zerobase on top as I have severe dryness and eczema. best wishes.
Hello Dr Rattan, thank you so much for this. Do you know whether the 20% Niacinamide sold by Paula's Choice is good for skin of color and how does it compare to 10% niacinamide.
Research has only ever been done uptill 5% concentration of niacinamide... 10% that most brands do is already a stretch, 20% in my opinion is just useless, coz there is no data backing up this high of an concentration! Remember - the dose makes the poison
Hey Doctor V...!!!!! M so glad u did review Vaseline products..... I have been using aloe varient for years, also on my face..... I have combination acne prone skin...... None of the product ever suited on my face..... But as u said the fragrance is something I don't wish in this product..... Also doc I wanna know various types of product bases in cream or lotions...... And how to read it.... As I said none of the product ever suited on my face skin other than the Vaseline aloe one..... I want to purchase some other brands fragrance free product.... But in the same texture and consistency as the aloe one..... This one absorbs really quick, very light weight, no shine at all..... But still hydrating and not moisturing...... I have learnt so much from you doctor v..... I highly request a video on product bases and their use for different skin types.... Also let us know the base for aloe one and other fragrance free option in other brands with the same feel.... Thank you 😍😇
Yes can you please do a video on fragrances both synthetic and natural and can you also do a video on what comedogenic ingredients to look out for pls????? Love your amazing work both my mother and I love your videos and are planning in order to stop by your clinics in the years to come
do we still have to use sunblock during winter times even when UV is zero(here in Norway )???. Also could you please make a video about blue light energi?sometimes i forget to re-apply sunscreeam at work,we have no UVA exposure since the windows are always with courtains on,but we do have a lot of lightining.
Hi Dr. V, What are your views on Nanocurrent facials (both at-home treatment devices / available outside ) for skin of color ? Is it safe and effective ?
Your skin is beautiful, you are beautiful & I love that your videos are not sponsored. Thanks for your truthful insight, which isn’t bought & paid for. I just found you, subscribed & will now dive into your channel.
I always heard that we shouldn't apply orginal vaseline on any of our body parts its comedogenic. Is it true or just a myth? Also is it safe if we apply it on face after moisturizing?
@@65NART no i dont want to apply it on my face but as in vid dr.V if your skin become flaky or damaged you can apply it on top of moisturizer so that it can heal. That's why im asking
I use Vaseline on face daily especially in the winter no problems at all. Petrolatum jelly is not comedogenic . Your coconut oil, rice bran oils etc are.
Definitely would like yo see a full video on fragrance. This is probably an obvious question but I'd like to double check; is using essential oils considered the same thing as using fragrance?
Cleanser - Cerave foaming facial cleanser Moisturizer- Cerave daily moisturizing lotion And twice a week use salicylic acid or azelaic acid from ordinary or any other brand
I have the same skin type. Alpha arbutin to fade out the dark spots and niacinamide for oil control in the morning (don't forget sunscreen).. Plus what @Pritanjali Pandey said. Salicylic scid strictly at night time only.
@@pritanjalipandey336 thank you for replying...I get overwhelmed trying to figure out what products to use because I have such sensitive oily skin..I'm going to try these products..Thank you again
New subscriber and I would love to hear more about fragrance! I've bought Vaseline's rose lip therapy before and hated it. I thought that since I expose my lips to many different foods and spices everyday that it would not be that big of a deal if there was fragrance in my products but it the rose was very quick to irritate my lips. It was had a sticky consistency that was absent from the OG that I hated so I just used up the rest on the dryer areas of my body at night. Even though I would never put an ounce of fragrance on my face, I love putting heavily scented lotions on the rest of my body since it's much more tolerant.
Niacinamide is generally very suitable for all skin types. Don't know abut the ingredients in cerave tho, but I have heard all good things about them. Really depends on your skin type. Do lemme know how it goes! :))
@@angles4307 yes cerave is pretty safe. I haven't tried them all together. I generally use one of the serums+moisturiser to be safe😅 I have sensitive skin so kinda scared to experiment
@@ronellarodney1320 The Vaseline Intensive care lotion do a coco butter one, that has droplets of vaseline. I've used pure coco butter in the past. The consistency is quite heavy, and it's really pricy. I'd love to use Pure coco butter for areas like my elbows, knees, feet and lips. But omg the price! 🙀
Hello doctor, thank you so much for your amazing content. Can you please make a video on Indian drugstore brands to use on a daily basis or the best product from drugstore? It will be really helpful
hi doctor, you’ve many times suggested cerave moisturizing cream as a good one for oily skin but i saw it had petroletum. doesn’t that cause break outs? didn’t seem to agree with my skin.
Also one thing i remember now that dr V clarified in one if the videos is that petroleum is an occlusive and occlusives are not supposed to be comedogenic including petroleum. Also petroleum comes at number 7 in ingredients list i doubt that is percentage is higher than 5%😊 See Dr V taught us to analyse products on our own😁😁
Ruchita Gawande that’s interesting cause it caused my to break out though she said it was non comedogenic. I wouldn’t recommend but it must work for someone.
Thank you for your passion delivering all of this important information 🤗 I would love to know you’re point of view about microneedling facial for skin of color, thank you❤️
Fragrance video please. Also, what products are safe to use that have a good aroma/ scent? Are perfumes okay to use, since they do not go directly on all your skin and mainly clothing?
All of Paula's choice product are good, it's mostly which one works for your skin type, dry, dehydrated, oily, anti aging. The website itself helps with choices. Look at the ingredients yourself based on everything Dr V has told us so far in her numerous videos and you can choose what works for you. There is even an ingredient dictionary.
Vanita, I have too many admirations for you. Thank you for doing what you're doing! God bless you and all your family. I love your educational videos, your makeup, your nails your clothes. I just made order according to your instruction for The Ordinary products for normal to oily acne-prone. I had to live till this age to learn what type of products to put on my skin. Never too late. Thank you again.
Hi Dr. Rattan, I have one question: I heard that petrolatum ( vaseline ) while staying on the surface of your skin is mixing with the natural sebum your skin produces and that causes her drying... Would you share your opinion about this? Thank you, love your work 👍♥️💗♥️
I’d really like to see a video explaining if perfume is safe to use and since fragrance is bad then what are some alternatives? Essential oils? Thanks so much
Thank you so much for all of this useful content!! I'm wondering if you could make a video on shave creams that are not damaging or irritating to the skin?
Thank you Dr Vanita, please please can you do a video by skin type, what products to use especially for exfoliation, masks, anti aging and hyperpigmentation with product recommendations.
Hi Dr V-thanks for all your hard work..are you able to please do a video on actives that are suitable to wear during the day in the morning routine? I’m really unclear about this! Thank you
Dr. V you are amazing! With all the work you are putting, you are really helping people to learn more about skincare. I just have a request, since I am from India and a lot of new skincare brands are coming into existence in my country. So, it will be more helpful if you do indian brands like earth rhythm, pure by priyanka, juicy chemistry, etc. I know you have covered a lot of Indian brands before. Thank you for all the effort you put to educate us.
