Is the syllabus available? He refers to "the textbooks;" what were they? Stott's seems to be one of them. Mounce also seems to have assigned sermons to watch as homework; would love to know what they were.

A Greek teacher, teaching from English. Interesting.

It's the shaped for his audience. Plus truth is not locked into one particular language.

@@tedhildebrandt_BeL so then you need to read the Bible in a bunch of different languages to find the truth? I would just think that a Greek teacher would least have a Greek text in front of him. After all, the thing he was teaching was written in Greek.

No, the truth can be presented from the Greek text but also from a good English Translation. He obviously could have taught from the Greek NT but his audience was English so he uses the English text to teach that audience. If it were a Greek Exegesis class he would have used the Greek NT. Not a problem for him. Jesus spoke Aramaic because his audience spoke that language. The NT writers wrote in Koine Greek because their audience did not know Aramaic but Greek was a more universal language.

@@tedhildebrandt_BeL I’m not trying to be rude but first of all Jesus can speak any language he wanted to And you said the truth wasn’t in just one language yet, he was reading from just one language. So I really don’t know where you’re coming from. I liked the video anyway.

Glad you liked the video. Hope you can learn Greek and Hebrew to read God's word in the original languages.
