That look in Hajime's eyes before he was put in that machine; they look so empty. It could just be anesthesia, though in the game, it said he went through several experiments. I feel like he was just so done at that point from all the experiments. Also, I liked the amv.
And they totally used Chiaki to manipulate him to get a body. Also thinking about it again: if Chiaki wasn’t Class Rep, she wouldn’t have died bc Junko would’ve talked to her. She would’ve Tried to use Kamakura to bring her to see Hope’s Peak’s bullshit.
@@jackster9775 You might be onto something with the second point. Since she did research on Kamakura, she might have learned that Hajime and Chiaki were close. That said, Junko just wanted a terrible event at Hope's Peak to lead to international unrest and all the other things she did there did the job. Also, I disagree on how Chiaki was used to manipulate him. In her last talk to Hajime, she told him that having no talent set in stone allows more freedom. He went against her.
@@anakerendoofenshmertz9985 I don’t think they kept the evidence that it’s Hajime. They knew Chiaki would go poking around and had their eye on Chisa at that point too. I imagine they also knew that Fuyuhiko was investigating his sister’s death.
@@anakerendoofenshmertz9985 also in rewatching the Chiaki death scene, I noticed Junko only used Chiaki’s name a few times. The other times, it’s Class rep. Which seems to confirm my idea.
Glad to have Hajime fans here! He's not a top favorite of mine personally, but I can relate to him the most of the DR protagonists, and his life and his influence in the rest of the DR world is really compelling.
Yes but can we just admire how he still retained the clairvoyance to know it was the school’s fault entirely. Like how they treated him was bad Bc he was a reserve corps student. 100%. And Chiaki was a class rep whose function was to just act as a buffer between the school and the people controlling it. Eventually someone would kill Chiaki or other class reps so there would be nothing in the way.
@@sanzianagoglinache8696 Streaming rights for it lay with Funimation, so look for it on their site. I just can't tell you if they made it free to watch yet or if you still need to subscribe.
@@sanzianagoglinache8696 it’s on funimation, but the episode badly explains it. Basically, Hope’s peak was a center for human experimentation. There were, as you know, two ways into the school. One was the talent scout, the other was being a reserve corps student and paying for it. Hope’s peak was a super powerful school, where graduates could get anything handed to them, so it motivated parents to save up/starve themselves so their kids could go and have a better life. As one of the piss poor reserve corps students, Hajime was put into a situation where tuition payment looked enticing and then the adviser to Jin Kirigiri offered him exactly that in exchange for consenting to being a guinea pig in an experiment to create the ultimate of all talents. Also, he and Chiaki were sort of in a forbidden romance Bc she was in the talent corps. So he thought “perfect, I won’t have to sneak around with Chiaki anymore AND my parents will be able to eat better and all I gotta do is go on a bed and let them do anything to me. What could go wrong?”. He ended up severely traumatized and mentally altered for weeks then he became Kamakura.
