Woah Tsurugi got real dark real quick. Imagine Tsurugi being the true Sparkling Justice! I mean he has to speak spanish for that but he would definetly fit for that role. I mean it was never revealed who Sparkling Justice really was since it wasn't Peko
That's it- I officially love tsurugi even more now and I consider him to be a perfect and amazingly written character, and this is just chapter one and the bits and bobs I know ahead.
We finally reached the end of Chapter 1! First of all, the team would like to send out a big word of thanks. Without your support, it would have been impossible for this channel to grow this big. Thank you very much to everyone! When we created this channel 3 years ago, DRA wasn't as well known in the Western fandom as it is now. Our idea was to upload some translated videos on RU-vid for it to get some exposure, and to spark interest in the famous SDRA2 prequel if possible. Looking around the internet and the comment section nowadays, we think that part of our goal has been well achieved. Originally, we thought it would be best for the players to experience the game for themselves and didn't plan to upload past Chapter 1. This was because we expected to get a demo version out fast, but our real-life issues have unfortunately made us lag behind. Meanwhile, we saw reports from people who said DRA won't launch on their computer. On top of that, we've noticed that a significant number of viewers follow our videos for the playthroughs only (and not the demo, which is understandable). Considering these factors, I've decided to upload Chapter 2 and beyond in this channel. But before moving onto the next chapter, we have agreed that the most important thing for us is to make a playable demo available, and to work towards that goal first. Thus, Chapter 2 videos will likely come up *after* we're finished with the demo. We know this may lengthen the wait for many of you, but being the small team we are, we believe this is the best we could do. While we're working on the demo, we'll try to break the gaps with the remaining FTE videos. Once again, thank you very much for the support you've given us! We hope to come back as soon as we can.
woah, that's a great surprise, I certainly didn't expect Tsurugi to be the Nagito/Kokichi of this game, I thought he was more of the Kirigiri, I thought they were going with Rei as the anti-hero, which I honestly didn't like, she's way too similar to Togami except Togami fills the role better. though I still like Rei as a character, she just doesn't feel as sadistic and manipulative as Byakuya, she's just being an uncooperative bitch. I can see her getting a redemption arc like Fuyuhiko/Maki now after we saw Tsurugi's reveal, which is a role she fills better honestly. also why y'all hating on Rei for pretending she figured it all out without even proving it ? I know she's being a bitch, but I can totally buy her figuring it out, it was pretty obvious, and a genius like her figuring it out pre-class rial isn't far fetched, even Tsurugi figured it out (but he did't say it right away cuz A. being a Police Officer, he knows he needs evidence to be 100% sure and B. to let the others have a chance to figure it out themselves), so it isn't that hard. regarding Tsurugi's logic, it's bullshit, no one should be killed like Monokuma executed him, even if he's a criminal, and even if he's a murderer, like Yuki said, Monokuma pushed him to, so he shouldn't be happy he got tortured to death, it makes it even worse that he's a police officer. he's definitely crazy and deluded. which makes for an interesting anti-hero. he's more Lawful Evil unlike the Chaotic Evil Nagito/Kokichi. I love this fangame so far, the cast is interesting and so is the story, I can see wh it's so hated tho with its very poor execution, but I can withstand that for the sake of the story.
Adult!Tsurugi: Son, where did you get that toy? I know your allowance isn't enough to buy something like that. Tsurugi's son, age 5: (ashamed) I... I stole it. Adult!Tsurugi: (enraged) Die, criminal scum! **bang** (Tsurugi is shown standing over his son's bleeding corpse with a smoking gun in his hand.) Adult!Tsurugi: Good riddance, you filthy thief!
I honestly now feel a bit more curious about Tsurugi right now. His ideals and philosophy are extreme, if not insane, but I find characters with this kind of mindset to be interesting because it gets me curious as to where the character shall go from here and I like to know what made him gain such a warped view on criminals. I predict that either further murders will destroy his mental state to the point where he ends up doing something drastic and crazy to prevent murders or something will happen that will cause him to question his philosophy and turn a new leaf. I definitely don’t agree with his ideals, but so far, I find his character WAY more interesting than an annoying lying gremlin with trust issues.
Kokichi was interesting as a character though. So tsurugi is just as interesting there's more to kokichi then an annoying grimlen with trust issues. Yes he has trust issues but he has so much more. And his death was so sad because he was utterly alone, no-one one to care for no one who cared about him end the guilt and the pressure this killing game and the crime he's thinks himself to have committed caused a mental breakdown. He lies to himself to get him though the game. I'm not just a kokichi fan girl. I think every character is interesting and has their own battles. Though i agree tsurugi is an character who will break in this situation. If you want i can show you a kokichi analysis video. Try weeby newz
Tsurugi could do something crazy to stop murderers... Or he would just give up and choose to die, because: "No, I can't change this world" I hope this is not the case-
2 things: 1) I absolutely love this translation. Please don't stop making it, because I doubt I'll be able to get the game with whatever shoddy PC I have, so this is the only way I can enjoy it and 2) This is a damn shame. When the game started and the interactions began happening Tsurugi quickly became my favourite character, and I figured he was going to be this games version of Kyoko...but he turned out to be a Nagito instead...
Now I don't really disagree with Tsurugi's thoughts... After all, he said what I thought on the terms of their "friendship"... But there's clearly something off with his mindset, I mean he seems pretty gleeful. I thought he'd just calmly say it was deserved.
Kinjo is definitely gonna go off the deep end by the finale. I don't think he'll kill anyone, at least not intentionally, but he'll end up being even worse.
Man, what a great way to end off Chapter 1! If there's more of these thought provoking (dark) philosophies then I'm definitely excited for more. We haven't seen all of their free time events yet so this rating may change, but I give: Kiyoka Maki (7/10) Mitsuhiro Higa (7/10)
2 died, 13 to go: Protagonist that forgots family Maid free from Mitch Dark policeman Silent hope Bitchy star Warehouse freak Lonely priest Pervert pilot (Tsurugi hater) The best clown ever known Super Class Trial Sayan Polite surgeon Female Togami Ayame Hatano (no nickname)
6:33 I would kinda feel the same if your “friend” tried to kill you but accidentally killed a totally innocent person. Like how much guilt would you have felt if you had accidentally caused the death of your friend? 7:02 Tsrugis just believes in the death penalty people. I swear everyone in this cast is brain dead
I actually agree with Tsurugi. Besides 'killing the criminal' part Also *SPOILER* Wonder what'd he do if he found out about what Kanade did. He would probably totally lose it
Tsurugi pretty much is Nagito but 10 times hotter and with a whole bucket-load more of a beautiful thing called ✨common sense✨ (to a degree) And honestly? I'm fucking living for it
you've done an awesome job so far Temp/CK!!! Can't wait for the demo to come out and dont rush things. The wait will be worth it when chapter 2 comes out, though you might as well translate and work on the demo at the same time to get 2 birds with one stone and have both be ready to release at the same time. Anyways, can't wait to see what goes down in the future. Keep up the great work!!!!
See, this is where I think LINUJ wins with writing Tsurugi, and fails with writing Rei. Tsurugi's sense of justice is extreme, narrow-minded, and very immature, there's no question about that, but it is understandable. It all boils down to the fact that as someone who detests crime, he would hate Mitch for murdering someone he considered both a friend, and his responsibility to protect. Sure, Mitch didn't deserve to go in quite such a grisly manner, but the fact remains that he murdered someone in cold blood, and it is easy to understand why Tsurugi would lose all sympathy for him after that. Not only that, but the others actually call Tsurugi out on his black and white sense of justice, giving him a real, very noticeable character flaw, that leads to great potential for development, should he wish to become more likeable to the remaining cast. Rei, on the other hand...Her motivation for being a stone cold bitch is complete and utter bullshit. Her only reasoning for anything she has done so far is, 'fuck you, I'm better than you because you're stupid and I'm not'. And the worst part is, nobody properly calls her out on it. There was no reason for anyone to believe her when she said that she already knew who the killer was in this trial, and yet everyone blindly believed her anyway. She does this whole speech about how she's better than everyone again in her free time event, and we never call her out for out for the fact that no, she has not taken action when necessary, as she said she has. Everyone was struggling in the trial, and instead of helping everyone, she decides to brag, and go, 'fuck you, you're stupid!' again. And then she has the nerve to complain that everyone's taking too long to work it out. Why has nobody put this self righteous bitch of a character in her place yet? TL:DR; Tsurugi good, character, if a little morally grey. Rei bad character, and borderline creator's pet.
Its only the first chapter. LINUJ has shown to be great at writing characters as seen in SDRA2. If rei is supposed to be "girl togami" like people in the fandom say she is, im sure she will get called out later in the story. Besides, the way she acts at the beginning of SDRA hints that she got more mature than she is rn in chapter 1.
@joe everyday Can you just accept that I don't like a fictional character, and leave me alone, please? I don't like Rei, and probably never will, but I won't be able to reveal why without getting flagged for spoilers. There, that's it, done. Don't reply to me again.
@joe everyday well thank you for the information! I really apreciate it. And if you don't mind could you tell me about the rest of her FTEs? I actually know spoilers for basically the entire game so i don't mind, but if you don't want to that's ok for me.
Okay... I watched this chapter knowing who were the victim and the killer, and how were the murder and the execution. But I didn't expect Tsurugi's reaction after the execution. :O
Who else just got into this game :0 i really enjoy sdra2 and wanted to see what dra was about and it looks cool af so far, I just hope new translations come out soon :,)
Wow… first off… what an amazing way to begin this fan-game! I’m simultaneously “I now kinda wish Tsurugi was dead instead of Kiyoka especially cause I liked her” and also “We now have the actual antagonist of this game… sounds like we’ll have a truly great one on our hands.”
i just watched all of chapter 1 in nearly a day and i just wanted to say thank you so much for the translations!!!! i wish i could see more of this game
Honestly I thought Tsurugi would play the mastermind role of this game under the concept of "There is no need for law enforcement if the law is throughly enforced", therefore forcing him or his father that was previously mentioned to work with the remnants to cause chaos for them to properly handle and profit off of. The chance that his father is the mastermind and hasn't told his son is still on the table though
6:08 Anyone else in this room, duh Btw, these people are mourning Mitsuhiro like they’re his only friend like what about Ayame or Yuki or the others and didn’t Akane almost gotten assaulted by Mitch? Aight I understand how Tsurugi feels (This is just a rant because yes and P.S. I don’t hate Mitch)
I mean yeah Tsurugi was kinda(?) correct but even so(I’m not taking mitch’s side) as a police officer you should’nt take someones death easily criminal or not no one deserves to die Tsurugi literally went from Husbando to Asshole real quick-
I don’t want to sound ungrateful and impatient, but please keep working on and translating the first game. It deserves more attention and people need it to understand Sdra2. There’s a reason the second game is called that. I know Dra isn’t as polished as the sequel, but It should’ve been translated fully a long time ago. If you want to take a break, fine. But you haven’t done anything in months. And if you cancel the translations of the first game, I will be disappointed. And so will other people if I’m not the only one.
I cant tell if I love Tsurugi more or less. He definitely is a bit more, not sure how to say it, dark or chaotic? Which makes him seem a little antagonistic now, but maybe it would end up alright? Or character development time, idk
I don’t care what you say, Don’t compare Tsurugi to Nagito/Kokichi. Nagito and Kokichi were crazy, they went out of their way to indirectly kill people. No matter what anyone says, they did so much wrong. But even if you think Tsurugi’s opinion was problematic, it didn’t seem Nagito or Kokichi level.
that's what i'm saying the entire time while reading the comments. and them comparing tsurugi to nagito quite literally doesn't make sense. nagito basically tried to kill someone, while tsurugi despises murderers and will do anything to stop them. yes, tsurugi is a bit off, but not crazy to the same extent as nagito or kokichi.
I wanna hear Tsurugi's opinion on death penalties in real life, that are executed legally by the government. Would he freak out over it or go into "AAAA, ERROR STOP 0000000000000-" mode?
Spoiler, if you read this and don't want to be spoiled stop reading: Wait untill he finds out that as police and with the police station being controled by Junko, he commited crimes without wanting to do that, then you will get the same reaction like he will get in the situation you thought about
Does anyone know a way to see a full translated story of the game? It can be a summary, a playthrough or the game itself translated(which I find very unlikely), I just want something tobe able to experience at least the story of the game and its cases.
Oh and I like to think about this concept: A murder kills an innocent person An executioner kills the murder Another executioner kills the executioner ANOTHER executioner kills that executioner Have it be a never ending chain or till the last executioner kills themself
I hate how my groups first reaction was "Any respect for you that I had from chapter one, is gone Kinjo" at like.. The same time. And one of us knew about SDA2, I haven't seen it so im confused about what they said 'Haha... oh its *all* downhill from here with Tsurugi Kinjo-'
okay, not to be rude, but yall comparing tsurugi to nagito or kokichi doesn't quite make sense. nagito basically tried to kill someone, while tsurugi despises murderers and will do anything to stop them. while i kinda see the similarity with kokichi by trying to stop the killing game, but the major difference with tsurugi is that he doesn't hide that with a let's say cheerful and careless personality, and to add, tsurugi isn't a manipulative liar, i don't think (i have not watched the rest of the game). yes, tsurugi is a bit off, but not crazy to the same extent as nagito or kokichi.
Welcome to my weird thoughts "If Haru didn't switch the nameplates, then that'd make the victim Kinjo, right? WRONG. The victim would be Mitch. I refuse to explain."
i know this is a year old but I got to Say Tsurugi Kinjo is by far my most hated Danganronpa Character in the entire Danganronpa Fanbase. He could Have been traded with any of This Games Victims and I wound have been happier
This is so awesome. Loving everything about it. Ridiculously high quality for a fangame. I'm a little confused about the the first trial though and was wondering if someone could explain it. So Rei MeKaru knew the culpret from the start. She was late when they discovered the body and her excuse was that she was investigating. This means she saw the body, right? But I don't think that makes sense. The victim was killed at around 6am and that's when Rei and Kakeru saw eachother (thus the alabi). However, if she goes to investigate after this then it means she saw the body. But if the victim had just been killed in the laundry room then how did Rei see the same body in the bathroom? Even if it was after, the killer spent quite a while in the bathroom setting the scene. Also, even more confusingly, the cannon games had a rule of 3 people to discover the body for the announcement to go off. We saw Akane, us (Yuki), and then Ayame which makes sense. If Rei saw it then it becomes 4 people? It wasn't stated as as a rule but i'm still confused as to if Rei saw the body or not. I'm really late on this so maybe I won't get an answer but it feels as though I'm missing something important with Rei. It doesn't make sense for her to have seen the body but her actions in the trial says she does? Hope someone can clear this up.
Rei never saw the body. She went the opposite direction - the school building. The entire murder happened within the student area, so Rei never saw Kiyoka's corpse once.
I’m calling it- the cLaWn(clown) will be the culprit- i tHinK 🤔 I’m not sure who’s dying yet but i can feel that she’s gonna die since the best characters aLwAyS dies I’m happy that i don’t get to get spoiled in DRA DAMN TSURUGI IS _EVIL_ No wonder why he has red eyes
