@@YellowDogGamer He did enter the major parry stagger the first time. But my next hit still didn't lead to the "sendoff". Some things, I sometimes wonder, maybe only speedrunners can do even if they aren't difficult in theory. That you just somehow have to be chosen/favored by a higher power to pull certain things off.
OK this is a great video it helped me so much and probably kept me from quitting the game, but you forgot to mention something, for people that are having issues with this the thing that i was missing was i needed the perry ash of war attached to my shield wich you can get from the guy at warmasters shack or volcano manor, just apply the ash of war to the shield and when we attacks instead of blocking use your special ability
Im despereatley trying to get it all to work and I made him do the parriable attack but when I parry him he is unfazed and immiadately follows up with an attack. Great tutorial also :)
When you parry him, do you do a heavy hit, or a light hit? If you can tell, I'm having a little trouble, lol, or was that in the video and I missed it. . .
can confirm this still working after 50 tries I decided to push him off with a sword at last the shield push didnt worked for me a tip adding up cheers
Has anyone done this is the Seamless Coop mod? I've gotten the parry and hit him twice but he doesn't seem to move. Did I just get unlucky or is it the mod?
I parryed the attack and went behind him but I light attacked with the shield so it didn't throw him off but he went to the very edge by himself and started launching fireballs and I was so lucky enough to dodge through them and hit him with heavy shield attacks then I staggered him and hit him with a charged heavy and it worked
try to get to the edge of the cliff as much as possible when doing the parry. when you see him start to run towards you, back off a TINY bit more to get to the very edge without causing lightning. I do this in ALL of my runs and it is indeed NOT patched.
To anyone else, the best parry is a shield with Carian Retaliation. Barring that I would just get the buckler from Gostoc. Also, with the Tree Sentinals make sure you're right up next to them when you parry.
HAH, tried this poison technique on the tree sentinel in limgrave and it works. you just have to hide in the bushes near his path and time the mist when he passes.
