@@mitchellhayward6492it was clever, but it isn't cool😭😭 im pretty sure people would like to see raw power dracula vs raw power satan rather than satan using someone's power which is alucard's body in order to bargain and fight Gabriel
@@winii1132 Agree to disagree. It's not out of character for Satan, the "Father of Lies" to pull a dirty trick like this to give himself an advantage. This to me is his way of taking Drac seriously, his way of giving this fight his all. But at least Satan is using his own weapon and powers, not Alucard's. That said, the problem with the "rule of cool" is that when you rely too much on it, cracks start to show in your characters' logic and/or your story. Sometimes it's much better to see characters actually use their heads rather than trying to out-punch each other.
@@mitchellhayward6492 true i agree with make sense statement you enlightened me brother for extension i used to feel like all fantasy things should be cool but it is uhhh yea it is better to be more realisitic to actually make relatable point between our reality and fantasy reality
The game was up to parr on some Metrovania aspects, but as I was finishing the game, I found myself anticipating a more formidable second form for Satan. However, the final boss battle was an ultimate disappointing.
I wonder how people would react if the book of revelations came in effect today and then this version of dracula ends up taking place of those angels with the trumpets.
I should give these games another try. Along with the slaughterhouse remake. All i remember was being dissapointed for some reason i can't remember. Lords of darkness was decent i think. Symphony of the night was mostly cool. Id have to replay a lot of games to decide what the best journey is though. I just never really liked this character design for dracula, felt like dracula is always supposed to have that iconic van helsing movie look. Thats still the best Dracula we ever got.
I liked the first Lords of Shadow a lot. More than the second one. I liked the reveals in it. Symphony of the Night has all those different items you can find in the game. Worth replaying
The thing that annoyed me so much was not the entire game... it was the lore of alucard depicting trevor fuckin belmont as alucard from being turned... i couldnt get on board with THAT one. But i did enjoy the game besides that
Laws of Magic within their world, I mean, the devil in castlevania isn't actually allowed to be on earth so he'd understandably be only as strong as the body he possessed and Alucard isn't stronger than dracula... he's the better fighter overall which is why a normal Alucard wins due to his own skills I think in symphony of the night dracula was a avatar of said devil, idk though. I just thought his character design in that game was extremely weird and scary but lame. I was expecting a scary batlike humanoid... they did the same thing to lady D in resident evil 8 and that was shocking but a bit of a wtf I was expecting a dragon bat lady
@Brian-ti7xm nah in Castlevania SOTN, he's using the power of Chaos (which is another reality, ruled by the entity Chaos). And if your talking a out the final boss, the throne dragon thing, yeah could have been cooler. But Draculas design was NOT lame, definitely his most iconic. As for RE8 lady D, her dragon form was pretty cool, after all it was a story book with a hero saving his daughter, in fantasy they have dragons. So the developers though a dragon/vampire would be cool, which I think they pulled off pretty well
This was such a disappointing ending. I was hoping this would be a relaunch of the whole series. Lords of Shadow 1 should have ended with "Dracula" absorbing Satan and becoming the new enemy of God and Mankind. Enter in multiple sequels following the progress of the Belmont bloodline grow stronger over the generations via passing the battle cross down their progeny in an effort for atonement of what their bloodline wrought in the Earth.
Agreed. This trilogy, specifically, the Lords of Shadow 2 was ruined by the classic "sympathy for the Devil" where the titular character no longer gets their hands dirty because the writer/producer gains a liking for them... there is no real redemption for Dracula without his eventual death. I agree that the series should have gone down the generations and gamers should have still had the opportunity to play as Dracula, but the real Dracula. Not this brawling sad excuse for Dracula. The one who commands the forces of darkness from the four corners of the Earth. Going forward with that we should have experienced the stories of the other Belmont's and Alucard as Gabriel's name as the first Belmont becomes more shrouded in the annals of the history. Lastly, literally introducing Satan, of which Dracula is literal more than an analog from his own lore, was absolutely ridiculous and I thought it was silly in the first games ending. They could have done a lot better than that. Satan should only ever be a reference point when talking about Gabriel's descent into the Prince of Darkness, not a character in the game... it's just too literal.
I may be in the minority on this but I liked the trilogy. Less so Mirror of Fate but both Lords games were fun in their own way. Such a damn shame about this one though when you hear about what happened behind the scenes. The ending was a huge let down, especially when I expected a much more grandiose Satan battle. Is what it is though.
