In this video, we will learn how to use the mirror command to make the symmetrical geometry. Furthermore, we will be creating different layers for different purposes of the machine. We will also try to focus on how to use the Offset command to make the offset line?
To learn how to create simple 2D geometry using DraftSight, please watch the tutorials below 👇

At 6:35 you made 2 green x's a short distance apart. I cant get mine to do that. When you make the distance of 0.650

Having trouble with the 2.5" dimension annotation, I can't get it to select the center point of the drawing. It keeps wanting to default to 2.375"

Hi, can you please check that in your Esnap settings, Midpoint check box is selected?

@@thirdangle6845 Yes, it was selected. It was snapping to the midpoint of the mirrored line (halfway across, after the fillet), instead of where the mirrored lines meet in the middle of the drawing. I got around this by starting at the midpoint and then selecting the outside line as the second point, instead of the other way around as shown in the video.

@JU57US glad that you found a solution, as long as you get right dimension, it doesn’t matter how you achieved it

Why not just use the centerline function???

Using centreline is the best approach in this case. However, I only wanted to show the use of offset command with this example. Thank you 🙏🏽

Yes, use the command weld

Center of circle just needed left side of the one line. You didn't need the second line.
