I remember seeing the “backlash” this Roger persona got on Twitter. Like, Roger has been doing female illusion times ten for a majority of the show. Now when it’s an actual drag queen persona, now it’s too far for you? So dumb. I hope this episode is a blast.

1:02 Roger has this “power” that was revealed in a earlier episode, that whatever/ however they dress as, they become that person/ look like that person. So for example if roger wears a blonde wig a fancy dress or something, everyone else sees them as a Blonde human Woman. Like Roger almost shape-shifts based on the outfit they wear, as least from the other characters in the show’s perspective( not the main character or viewers obviously cuz we know it’s Roger).

Right I remember Roger explaining that in one episode. Everyone in the Smith family sees Roger but everyone else sees a real person. He also said that every member of the Smith family has at least one persona that they can't see past .😅

What would you consider adult entertainment? I've been to many drag shows at nightclubs involving sexual dancing, foul language and even some nudity. However, I have never witnessed a child in that environment so I'm having trouble seeing the danger there. I have also been to local pride celebrations with families and children present where drag queens performing on stage to standard pop music without overly sexual dancing and no nudity or profanities. We've also had local drag queens reading to children in libraries in my town and in cities nearby. For me, it's a stretch to call these adult performances. So when people say they are protecting children, I wonder which children and from what dangers? Also, the laws banning "adult performances" are vague enough that they put trans people in danger of being arrested or harrased for simply existing in a public space where children may be present. I'm not against keeping kids out of adult things, but it's important to define and understand what those things are. Drag and children can exist in the same spaces.

Lol Rupaul has been working longer than 20 years, walking runways on the front cover of magazines, tv interviews etc since the late 80s and then the recently passed away Australian Dame Edna Everage since the mid 1950s on mainstream tv in Australia and the UK, had their own interview tv programme where they would treat major stars like idiots and insult them till the stars were laughing. Their tv show ran in the UK throughout the 80s, on American tv and toured worldwide until not long before passing away. There are MANY actual human beings that have "normalizing drag" long before this cartoon was even thought of. That you think the repeated joke of oh stupid alien with all his costumes dressing up as a woman again is somehow doing more for normalizing drag than what Ru, Edna and others have done is wild!!!

I can literally listen to Trixie talk about anything for hours on end when I'm sewing or crafting. For days at a time if I have a big project. I don't what it is, maybe her just talking to the camera feels almost like a conversation because she interjects just what I was thinking. Maybe it's the voice that that has nothing in it to be annoying. Maybe the honesty. Maybe because for someone playing a fantasy character she's so grounded. Maybe because if we were stuck on an elevator together I KNOW we would get along really well and have a lot of fun waiting for the cables to snap and send us plummeting. Maybe because she grew up poor and knows what it's like to go without. Maybe because she's so stinkin' successful. I don't know why. All of the above?
