I'm glad you didn't mock the hybrid. Most comments I've seen wanted the hybrid system taken out, but I think it makes the car much better. A bit of a better engine would have done wonders, as the car feels too slow after 1st gear.

The CR-Z drives very underpowered when the hybrid battery isn't charged up. It isn't hard to remove the hybrid system tbh though and the engine has a nice sound to it. You can't get your money's worth in power from building the factory engine though IMO. I have many different older Honda's and the CR-Z is slower then most of them. The Z's are comfortable to drive though, and still good on fuel if you keep the maintenance up. From what I hear the automatic trans makes it feel a lot slower but I have never driven an auto one before.

Need a replacement engine for mine, 1.5x Dual Carb one has issues. Want to keep it 1.5 though so could use 130bhp like in del sol vxi

I agree though I wish I knew the full specs of the engines and what years were used instead of what was in the description and in the video (HP would be nice). It looks like they're using the earlier model CR-Z instead of the later one after replacing the hybrid battery. Not saying that it would make a difference in the outcome of the race due to the CR-X being an Si but there was a bit more power when switching from the nickel metal hydride battery to the lithium ion in CR-Z models 2013 and later. And that's not taking into effect the supercharger from HPD that not many people know about either but that would be going into a whole other realm! And before you call me out on this I do believe the CR-X is the better car (minus the fact that one could be in trouble if they get into an accident in that thing) and is a classic. I just think it would be helpful to know a little more about the specs of the cars themselves so we can put it in perspective. That's all.

@@Stealthborn I agree 100% of everything you said. And yes it's the 1st gen with about 124hp combined VS ~ 137hp for the refreshed version. It would have been fair to try this one. What I pointed out was the ridiculous amount of power it had when Honda had an engine capable of way more in their range, but they decided (too early imho) to go with a concept of hybrid sports car but without the ambition of making it a decent sports car. Honda made weird choices sometimes. They went from the Civic EP3 with 200hp to FN2 with 201hp but more weight. Then, after years seeing other manufacturers releasing more and more powerful hot hatches, they finally decided to throw 310-320hp in a Civic and make it a proper track machine capable of daily drive. In 2010, a Suzuki Swift Sport had 136hp and a shitbox VW Polo GTi 180hp. CR-Z had to be at least as quick as or faster than a CR-X SiR. Sadly it didn't. Even with then engine upgrade (HPD supercharger only in US and too late). They could have saved this car if they threw a more powerful engine. Back then, we weren't yet in a situation where all manufacturers go electric and hybrid. There was still room for sport. They did it with the CTR. From 201hp to 310hp. I swear if it had at least 180-200hp I'd have bought one. The GT86/BRZ is the best example, only problem is it's a mix of Toyota and Subaru. I prefer 100% brand car. Like the Supra which shares Z4 parts. Not bad at all, but less genuine

@@aniki937 yeah but like the other guy said their was an optional supercharger added at the dealer for the crz that bumped up the hp to 197 it would be cool to see it against the crx

CR-Xも燃費重視で開発されたマシンですよ。CR-X Si乗ってたけど、あの当時かっとんでても10km/L割ることはほとんどなかった。まあ最新の車の燃費に比べたら、たいしたことないけど。 楽しい車だったな。横に乗せた友人が「横に乗るバイクだ」って言ってた😆

PLUSSPORTSモードがZF2から追加されたので、もしかしたら勝てたかもね。 ホンダの広報によるとPLUS SPORTボタンを押した場合では「3LのV6エンジン」並みの加速感が得られるとしている。

0:55 IMAバッテリーメーターを見ると、ほとんど残量が無いようなのでアシスト不足かもしれませんね。
