@@kevekulcsar5732 The only thing mclaren has is speed and cars are not only about speeds a lot other things matters Mc larens are not reliable, the build quality is not great and it will go to the service centre after this video bcoz it has done some launches while porsche will still roam in the streets without any issue
@@MzwandileHarmans the porsche weighs 300 kilograms more and has 125 hp less. what do you expect? give the porsche the same power and the result looks different..
Yes,the 911 turbo s is what I would prefer, all day long.A car that can be suitable for everyday use without drawing too much attention to itself, but standing out with staggering performance to hold it's own against any exotic supercar.A complete package that's for sure.
You’ll have to do quite a few modifications to the exhaust for it to sound good. I think the only way to make a Turbo S sound good is with a titanium exhaust. If you do anything else it’ll still sound like a vacuum cleaner.
Cool. But how about a proper road course? Wouldn't that be more entertaining? FWIW, the "soul less" Tesla S Plaid would have left both cars for dead. American racing leaves much to be desired.
@bryanland1011 what do you mean by American racing? Like 1/4 mile drag racing or the cars? I agree much rather have a race course. I track my cars at Sebring Raceway. But every once in a while 1/4 mile just for tuning and getting the cars dialed in after modding, and can be just a quick fun match up against some other cars. But most definitely for me road course > 1/4 mile racing. I also always attend IMSA races @ 12 hrs of Sebring and the 24 hours of Daytona every year to spectate. Such great races.
@10:54 of course the Mclaren is faster man, it has 115 hp more!!!! That's quite a difference. Still, due to better launches the 911 turbo S can keep it's own and win a couple of races! Incredible. With little mods you can put the 911 Turbo S with 750-800hp and i bet it would beat the 765LT easily then...
I um amazed by how quick the Porsche is. As quick as Shmee said "One twenty, one thirty...etc." it was hitting those speeds. I would've liked to see him line up his Mercedez GT against them as a reference.
@@stubones No, 4wd is just a small part of it. Porsche is legendary for really snappy gearboxes, proven by the fact that the Turbo S jumps ahead of more powerful cars even with a rolling start, when 4wd has no effect.
Both cars are amazing and that 765LT is an absolutely gorgeous spec but my heart has to go with the 992 Turbo S is an absolute unit and definitely a bigger dream machine for me personally 🙌🏼
I am a die hard Porsche fan, but holy smokes that 765 is deadly. Would be much more interesting to track them I assume could be much more different results, but on a longer straight Turbo S is smoked without a doubt. EDIT: Nope. Nurburgring tells otherwise.
When both are launched at the same time, the 765 blows the doors off the turbo s. The turbo is insane for the horsepower disadvantage though, thanks to 4WD
They were launched at the same time, the turbo is alot quicker off the line where it matters if ur skill-less and care about straight line stuff. That was a full quarter mile
I wonder how much better the 911 would have done if it were in Sport mode instead of Sport+, to stop the wing and splitter from deploying. Pushing the Sport Response button causes the engine to behave as if it were in Sport+.
Can't deny the performance of that Porsche, especially considering it's price compared to the McLaren. Nevertheless, that 765LT looks absolutely astounding.
This is been done by CarWow. 765 wins These have been done. Let’s pick a track and have the same race car driver drive super and hyper cars and let’s see who has the fastest cars around a track. We’ve been hearing for decades from European’s (especially the English) how all American cars are good for is drag racing. Well fellas go grab yourselves a track and have your friends give their cars to the same race car driver to see which car is fastest
I am getting this turbo s one day it really is the all around sport car 🚙 Porsche is more reliable then many others out there wet or dry even snow ❄️ it’s the best
Doesnt the Porsche have a Sports response button which gives it extra Power for a few seconds at the start, which might have not been used here or do the newer Porsches dont have that button anymore?
Of course he was NOT using the turbo boost button on the 911. It adds a lot more torque for 20 seconds. I would use it only from the moment the McLaren begins to catch up, not before. I have yet to see a drag race of a 911 Turbo S against Ferraris or McLarens where they use the button. It's like they don't even know it exists !
Wait until McLaren starts making AWD cars. No one will be able to beat them in the quarter mile. And even as just a RWD company, they are still dominating 97%-99% of the ICE cars out there.
So, once again the conclusion is that : Porsche are so well engineered that it's cars will fair well no matter the competition.. And with a bit more power they'd have no equal..
Tim I have a 911 Turbo that is putting out 800 hp. It is so fast and not many cars can hug the road and significantly take high speed turns like the Porsche. I reduced the weight by 140 pounds and I am almost as fast now as the Tesla Plaid. Add any turns and I win. Averaging 9.4 in the quarter mile. Most Plaids are beating me with 9.1-9.3. I daily drive my Porsche so I don’t want to turn up any more boost. I want the engine to last. 808hp is enough because on the highway when you need to get around some traffic it is jaw-dropping amazing at the ease to drive fast. Thanks for the great video. This is my 17th Porsche. Just ordered the Mustang Dark Horse. Keep up your garage collection. I always enjoy seeing what you choose to add on. Cheers Brother 😎
Love the 765LT. The 911 really is the everyday supercar and it has no business being as fast as it is. LOL I'd take the 765LT without a 2nd thought. If they ever make another slant nose 911 I would change my mind.. I have NEVER liked the headlights on the 911s. I think VW bug EVERY single time I see one but holy crap.. A rear engine car with performance numbers like that.. WOW.
@@WPD77 yeah…because carwow is the only channel allowed to do drag races 🤡. They surely do it best and are best known for it but that doesn‘t mean they‘re the only ones allowed to do them
These drag races *never* use the turbo boost button on the 911´s in the 1/4 mile. It adds torque. "There's only so much I can do...". I think not. You could do even more.
Thank you, my aunt witch was just like a secondary mom for me died three weeks ago but thanks to your positivity on the channel it has been a lot easier
The ease of launching the Porsche is why it’s definitely the “faster” car. It beat the 765 to the 1/8th every time. On the street & at the stoplight, you’re probably not exceeding 110mph or 660ft, so that 911 really is gonna win every time
No not really. Most jackasses I see racing on public streets are doing it from a roll (such as on highway) not a stoplight. McLaren will obviously hurt the 911 in a rolling race. Furthermore, Carlow did this exact same race and the 765Lt beat the 911 turbo to 1/8th every time so clearly something was wrong in this race (driver skill?)
@@chrisc1742 The 911 ran totally handicapped. Spoiler up (in Sport Plus mode) should be lowered manually to reduce drag. Turbo boost should be engaged a few seconds after the launch to add more torque in the latter part of the race and keep the other car at bay. Neither was done at all, let alone properly.
I've heard that if you put the portion 911 turbo s in sport mode it is a hair quicker in the quarter mile. Because the front splitter doesn't come down and the rear spoiler doesn't come up not sure how true that is but.
What I like with the 911 is the tune capabilities. A 992 Porsche 911 carerra 4S can be modded by 9FF @ 800-900hp and beating the stock 992 turbo S (260k$) for half the overall cost (130K$).
The 911 has 650HP and Mclaren 765HP. If the mclaren had the same 650HP they could do this all day and it will never win the Turbo S. Turbo S is the perfect car.
And lower the rear spoiler manually to reduce drag. It gets raised on "Sport Plus" mode which Shmee was using. And yes, he wasn't using the turbo boost button on the 911 which adds a lot more torque for 20 seconds. I've yet to see a drag race of a 911 Turbo S against Ferraris or McLarens where they use the button. Like they don't even know it's there! The 911's always seem to be racing handicapped! Despite that, they still do well enough.
Let's be real, that's not even fair on a real dragstrip unless the 911 is massively modified. And I do mean MASSIVELY when it comes to trying to catch a car that runs 9s@150+.
Of course he *wasn't* using the turbo boost button on the 911 which add a lot more torque for 20 seconds. I've yet to see a drag race of a 911 Turbo S against Ferraris or McLarens where they use the button. Like they don't even know it's there!
Shmee150 Absolutely Incredible Video I think it's absolutey incredible that The Triple F Collection's 992 911 Turbo S beat their 765LT Spider and I can't wait to see more fun content with the Triple F Collection in the future
Engine management on Mclaren incredible. The power delivery is right on the theshold of tire break. All Mclarens operate this way. . Then reel in the competeitor on the big end. You just need the room.
