DRAG RACE: Volkswagen Golf 8 R vs Volkswagen Tiguan R

All your drag races so far there is someone napping in one of the vehicles .

Although the Tig R driver was sleeping on the line, judging by the times in the real world the Tig R is going to surprise alot of hot hatches.

Guy in the Tiguan was slow to react

Golf got off the mark quicker - would've been a couple of tenths closer otherwise. Such an impressive car that Tiguan!

The guy driving the Tiguan launches slower than my dead grandmother! Should have had a re-run!

If you are going to do a comparison drag race you really need them both to launch properly. Otherwise how can we compare.

I always expect to see a lady driving a tiguan. Seeing a dude in one is the equivalent of seeing a long-haired guy in a TT, an unwanted surprise. 😅 The same does not apply to the golf. 🤔 What I'm trying to say is, I don't see the tiguan r outselling the golf r. The r-line tiguan is sufficient to keep the wife happy or any tiguan, for that matter.

The eagerly awaited golf R....old news now....how old is the car and still not released in SA....

what sort of a count in was that?! it started at 2 but then did a v fast 1.5 and then 1. also the entire minute of b roll before the race is awful

All your drag races are dissappointments. You guys don't even bother to do a 2nd or a 3rd run 'til both cars get their launches correct.

Golf would have won either way. Golf has superior power to mass.

I would take of at least 0.5 seconds from the Tiguan's time due to the huge delay in getting off the mark!
