This era of drag racing will always be the most important era of the sport of organized drag racing. As far as I am concerned the cars and the people of that era really had the stuff. I find regular drag racing since the 1980's a real bore fest. I am so thankful that nostalgia drag racing exists to try and recreate the glory years of drag racing in the past. Thanks for sharing. do you remember a 1964 GTO named UNDERDOG it was my fathers car. He raced there from 66-70

Do you remember 1969 GTO Judge. Had all the elimanator stickers on the back windows.

Joe Yes I do those were the great days of drag racing ,today it’s more about the money . Speedwin automotive, they were going to build me a pro stock vaga they stole 30,000 from me That was joe Jill his mother signed contract she was not partner so he screwed me . Still love the sport .

I ran my 1965 chevelle at national in 1979 and 1980……I was heartbroken when the track closed. I flat towed out there from Yonkers.

Been their twice 81 85.you get spoiled after going to U.S National s.we were entered in Stock both times..never made the show..but we got loads of freebies.not no more.you never been,you gota go

Elton Spurlock .... im not a Ford guy , but at least Ford was actually competing against mopar. Chevrolet was non existent, until they changed the rules in 72 , so they could compete.

At 3;50 or so watch one of the Smothers brothers run that beautiful 442 to about a 13 second quarter mile time.Not a 10 something like the idiot said but impressive for the car and driver. Good old days.
