This era of drag racing will always be the most important era of the sport of organized drag racing. As far as I am concerned the cars and the people of that era really had the stuff. I find regular drag racing since the 1980's a real bore fest. I am so thankful that nostalgia drag racing exists to try and recreate the glory years of drag racing in the past. Thanks for sharing. Joe Yes I do those were the great days of drag racing ,today it’s more about the money . Speedwin automotive, they were going to build me a pro stock vaga they stole 30,000 from me That was joe Jill his mother signed contract she was not partner so he screwed me . Still love the sport .

Elton Spurlock .... im not a Ford guy , but at least Ford was actually competing against mopar. Chevrolet was non existent, until they changed the rules in 72 , so they could compete.
At 3;50 or so watch one of the Smothers brothers run that beautiful 442 to about a 13 second quarter mile time.Not a 10 something like the idiot said but impressive for the car and driver. Good old days.
