@Torquey SRT I think Rowe is a pretty common surname and I'm in Canada, but you never know...we could be long lost cousins. If you look on IMDB most of my family is involved in the entertainment business..Tom, Jim, Erin, me and a few others.
Irving CZ they get more bc there’s a million 15 yr old kids with slow stock civics who think they’re racer bois and they want Trevor’s instead of theirs bc his is actually fast lmao
Make sure the clutch is fully disengaging. On level ground, with the parking brake off and the engine running, put the car into 1st gear with the clutch fully depressed like you normally would. Then raise the rpm to the rev limiter with the clutch pedal still fully pressed. If the car moves at all your clutch is dragging and making the car hard to shift.
D-Series transmissions do not like being shifted hard, and high RPM lock-out is very common. Gotta check the input shaft bearings for play, and fiddle with the clutch/slave cylinder/& master cylinder. Maybe consider a SpeedFactory shifter spring ($30), but that won't help your RPM lock-out. I can smash gears up 'till 5K RPM, anything abover that and I have to work it in to gear.
Was going through boxes while cleaning the shop yesterday and found pictures of my old 92 Integra that I had back in 03-04 and got me thinking... might be time to get another Honda boys!!! I've always wanted to do an ek hatch with a NA h22
Love the wheels. Also, please do an awd k swap in the future. I love the idea of this build going through different stages and watching how it effects performance. 💪🔥🔥🔥
Preload can make a car do funny things. The eg rear fork is different from the ek and because it is built onto the strut unlike the front you either need to widen it and cut off the nut to avoid crossthreading or source some ek rears.
Trevor dude you seriously need to build an AWD K that will take down Kyle's MR2! 👌😂 Wont be easy but it is possible. 😃 Also i think you will need to stock pile axels or upgrade them as those slicks will snap them like twigs! 🙈 Keep up the epic work absolutely love it!!! 👌😊
I cant believe you were driving that thing with those junk shocks and springs lol it definitely needs some BC's. I had 12k/14k spring setup before and its was great at balancing out understeer and getting a little rotation in hard turns.
U mentioned getting spacers cause of the inside rubbing....but are u also taking into consideration how much slicks expand when going down track?...u mentioned raising the front 1".....but the slicks will narrow at speed and get atleast 1.5-2.0" taller....just something to think about
And then the slicks will rub on that body seam that's spot welded in the wheel well which will cut right into the slicks soft rubber possibly even causing a flat or a wreck. Seen it happen before.
@@RockinMTB exactly....I'd Jack the suspension up 2" and find somewhere with a smooth pad . Throw some water down...and setup a camera on a tripod and do a test burn out to verify the expansion
Yes, and if you have stiffer shifter bushings on the solid linkage transmissions (like D & B-Series) than you have engine mounts, you can break the shifter linkage and/or the adapter coming out of the transmission.
Any updates on the ls swap Saab? I think that would be an awesome car to compete with the civic I’m loving all the content lol I’d love to hang out with you guys and rip some 110s and do work around the shop just sounds like a good time. From Decatur Texas me and my wife watching every video! Keep it on at least two wheels brotha!
Hey I've been watching you guys videos they are great. That's a sweet machine you have. U need to put only original honda gear box oil it doesn't like the other gear box oil dats. (2) 500hp on the d series box when it's stock doesn't hold out trust me I tried u need to build it
Civic looks better, good wheel selection....just get a new set of toyo’s, but bigger for the street and you might want to order a traction bar for the front before run those slicks or it’s good bye axles.
@@ClimptonDiddlehopper billy this here Honda has 500 wheel HP 🤔 and weighs a feather like 2,000lbs. Should be good for at least a 13.9 no? I'm just guessing tbh, but this is a sick Honda
500 hp in a car that weight should be capable of 10.5 second 1/4 mile @ 130+ mph. That's dependent on setup, launch and drivers skill...but high 11 second et's should be easily achievable.
jeremy rowe ya running a 2 second 60 foot every pass isn’t gonna get you anywhere near a 10 second pass. Honestly, this set up isn’t gonna get near a 10 second pass anytime soon
Make sure you preload! Pre load! Pre load! People fun 13x23 or 24.5 for bigger sidewall bites better. You want a z6 or y8 trans, a base model dx with put you out of power band when shifting which makes it harder to go better ET’s. Also your motor is built rev that thing to 8k at least and no lift/power shift! 500hp d16 should go high 10’s, I got mid 11’s on 400-450 last year d16y8 with z6 crank fully built. Trevor you are awesome and so happy you got into drag racing! I’m part of the HUNTERTUNED RU-vid channel and all we do is drag race and build Honda’s, we actually just got a dyno for our shop. Please let me know if this information is helpful and please ask me any questions you have I live for this content IG: Michaelwiththeredcivic
I have konig b bomb 15x7 on my mx5 or miata as you call them but as i'm from the uk i cannot find centre caps for them anywhere, any ideas? As they're discontinued wheels i believe
I'm not super familiar with hondata and if it has the parameters to do no lift shifting, but maybe play with that a bit to help with unloading the trans to get it to shift easier?
@@Robertwells596 I'm not saying it'd cure the problem 100%. But it'd sure as heck help with keeping the turbo spooled up inbetween shifts. You can usually set up a pretty soft limiter for no-lift shifting depending on the ECU aswell. Either way, getting it below a certain RPM threshold without letting it drop toooo far would help. Best fix is a better trans though. lol.
pete.lamonica I’m not saying he can’t, I’m saying a good opportunity to increase content and make a friend very happy presented itself, and Trevor isn’t taking advantage of it
I would have to find out 4 sure & idk if you'd even be interested but I might be able to get you a b18 w the 5spd for a deal. It came out of my buddy's integra & it's been sitting almost 2 yrs now. I'm sure if you waved a lil cash in his face he'd be about it. I think it had like 130,000 on it but I remember it shifting really smooth. I guess u might as well k swap it at that rate tho. I like the slicks but its gonna beat the piss out of your drivetrain. If you think you have trans problems now those aren't gonna help. Axles either.
The reason it's locking you out is because Hondas absolutely hate being shifted while so close to the limiter. Syncromesh isnt remotely close to being as good as Hondas actual manual Trans fluid. I've always had much better luck with that. It's also a d series Trans those are extremely picky when it comes to power shifting. D2b would be your best bet for cheaper options but ideally you'd want dog box. Being your anticipating that motor blowing up I'd wait until it's k swapped.
