Trying something different!
In this video I am doing a Catfishing technique that I rarely do. I had actually did this with a guest and it payed off with some BIG Catfish! I explain how to drag for Catfish and catch a few fish in this video! I start off in a giant cove where I caught fish and then on a shelf next to the river channel. Guess what I caught there!
Don't forget to 👍 the video and share it with friends! Thank you for watching!
I want to thank Okuma Fishing USA and Team Catfish Tackle for being partners with my channel! You may see their products throughout my video.

You should get you some Bkat planer boards

usually 100-150 ft behind the boat and one close, but you just have to stagger all the lines.

We have a ton of snags here, I try to have the line at a 45 degree, noticed it helps to hang up less

I caught the snag once haha! Check this older video out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4xVo0l6Pkog.html

Cast the rod then put the planer board on

I have been doing that lately. I've even tested not using the clip so I don't have to fight the planar board and fish at the same time. Having to go after planar boards is the result lol...

I believe Dave fished that same spot both from the bank and in the boat. He caught a huge fish from the bank. He caught good fish from his boat too but can't remember the size now. Good luck Billy!

I drag a lot of times. I let way more line out than I need. That way if the water gets deeper I know I’m still on the bottom. I’ll drag 6 lines. 2 out the back then 2 on each side. If there’s not much river traffic I’ll cover about 60 feet of river that way.

Ive been doing this for about 15 years. I havent used planer boards though. I normally run between .8 and 1.0 speed which is close to the speed shad schools move at. The way I put out my baits is that I cast the outer 2 rods (using 4) out the side as far as I can cast. The inner 2 are thrown out the back like you did but I also cast them as far as I can. I try to keep them at different distances so that when you turn they do not get tangled...but I can assure you that when you get a 30-40 pound blue on there they will sometimes get tangled !! Good luck!

Thank you for the info! I will have to try at a faster speed. I found staying 0.5 mph was hard to do in wind.
@dignlevel
@dignlevel 2 года назад
@@TNRVG When it is windy, I use a drift sock out of the back so that the wind does not turn the boat sideways...It also helps maintain the speed.

Now that is a great idea! I do have a drift sock I can use. Thanks!

I drag 80% of the time, I put out alot of line further behind the boat the better especially in shallow water

What is the maximum distance of meter to throw from the beach for dragging weights ?
@TNRVG
@TNRVG 6 месяцев назад
Need a boat to drag. I let out 60 foot of line, put a planar board on, then let 60 more feet out. Move boat at around 0.5 and 0.8 mph.

@@TNRVG i can throw 60 feet from beach for dragging weights .
@TNRVG

I would suggest not using dragging weights from the bank. You will get more distance with bank sinkers, river sinkers, or no-roll sinkers. Use a very short leader as well. Sit and wait for a bite.

Yea you paid for those at big fish outfitters. I'll show you how to make your own when I come down and fish with ya. Also if you cut your bait at an angle it won't spin in the water as bad just something I learned from fishing in Santee Cooper from some guides down there
@TNRVG
@TNRVG 2 года назад
I may be trying to make my own soon too. I have a bunch of left over hose from past aquaponics systems that would make great dragging sinkers!

@@TNRVG para cord and 1/4-1/2 split shot tie the ends with bread ties and just use a regular sinker slide all ya do is put the snap swivel through the cord at one end if you get hung it all slides out one end of the cord and you keep the hook and swivel
