Extremely apt comparison. The psychological depth, empathy for perpetrator and victim, the shifts in perspective, and the twist ending all remind me of Suspense as well.
Boy ... another grizzly one 😲. I love listening to these stories. Relaxing... but then I think . How could brutal muders and robbery be relaxing ??? Oh well , I love the old days ...good or bad 😎
Exactly. It was from the Hitchcock playbook when the Sister in law/Wife's twin spooks him out by conjuring the memory / image of a missing wife. I fully expected James Stewart or Kim Novack to appear suddenly, lol.
August 30, 1951 “ The Big Crazy”.... nice title 👌 Loved the “twin sister” trickery, Nuts 😅 Married to a Bernice doesn’t help when you are already crazy 🤣 Loved this episode, something about calling this coo coo was hilarious... sort of a a dark comedy.
Hope that busybody sister is happy and can sleep nights! She and the cops drove that poor husband to kill himself. Today that would be considered harassment and contributing to the cause of his death!
I love Dragnet, but this episode is a pretty terrible one. They basically drive an innocent mentally ill man to suicide, staging a macabre event designed to make him crack. After his death and the discovery that he didn't kill his wife, Friday basically shrugs. No one comes off good in this episode.
This series had incredibly good scripts; this definitely wasn’t one of them. As an identical twin, my opinion is that twin plot lines are almost always stupid. This is a good example.
