Guys dont use the ring that reduce you damage, i follow this guide and failed like 4 time since medusa keep tossing me from her head and taking half my bar of health, Rent 2 mage pawn with only support and you pawn with lighting buff and just hit her head with normal damage, You need to take out her 1st hp bar before her head drop off. I also recommend you for easy time to take a pawn with debuff remover.

yea, the video is bad advice, i attacked for 30 mins with the ring and nothing, just used lightning enchant like this guy said and got it in 2 mins, for me it took out about 1 1/2 health bars before her head dropped off

Mystic spearhand vocation, wore NO ring for the max damage nerf. Got on her back as close to her head as possible and used my spinning blade mash attack. Took me 3 attempts but if you’re the only one doing damage to her the head will come off! AND she was on her 3rd health bar and still got the preserved head.

@@nuke_looter5174 It's an utterly broken item that insta kills 99% of enemies, big or small, with just 1 attack. The are movable teleport locations that you can set up preemptively and use however times you want. There is a second head state that warns you it is no longer preserved before the item fully decays. What's waste here is not the game, it's your bum ass

@soulsbonder you can't undecay it. Make sure you get the preserved version of the head. It decays in stages as time goes by (if you put it in your storage it won't decay)

@@therealharshlycritical Yes they are but in the Medusa case they do quick job of chopping her head off in like 10-15 seconds. I did try with frosted edges but she died and just got the regular head.

Thank you for this tip 😄 I totally oversaw this cave and used them. Even the normal starts daggers deal 450 damage + I think by now. Really helped me out not too have to rely on the pawn and reducing my damage. Worked perfectly fine for me 😁

I used some lightning twin blades I found somewhere earlier, didn't use the ring he mention and brought my pawn as mage for healing. Once I got on the head, it took maybe 15 seconds of hacking and it's off with her head. Getting to her was much tougher. From the time you cross into the green section to her cave, at least 50 high level enemies showed up. It actually never stop the whole way through. I used the shield Daughter of.... that I stole from castle vault in Venworth to reflect Medusa own gaze back at her. not wasting a head on her :) Thx Maka for location and tips.

Just go to the unmoored world then evacuate that castle go back too the castle once it’s evacuated, but you will need the key which is in the ancient battlegrounds go too the main throne room take a door that will lead you down there would be a security guard guarding the door but if you have evacuated the city, he’s not there any more then go too the door unlock it I started a dragon fight with this shield. He tried to shoot fire at me at the beginning of the fight. He died two seconds later. I did the same with Medusa but I think the way to properly preserve her head would be to cut it off then use one of rewards from the phinx quest line I used it on dessa too get her too sev Answers too her quests Go too the door she opens turn around the is a chest above the entrance When you pick up you’re 1st seeker token go to your map then screenshot it you’re position YOURE main pawn Gold beetle Phix parent found in a rift stone in a tower close too a camp fire 6 statues Border gate b side pick up the guy if you have placed a fast travel point down were she is just this a ferry stone up as you are holding him Knock the fighter over pick him up then throw him off the cliff In stead of taking the jar too him bring him too the jar he is close too you’re house in B use the same method as above Use the unmade arrow shot her in the wing

There's a much easier method. only takes 3 slices with daggers. Use wayfarer, Put her to sleep with The Magick Archer skill. when it's on ground slice 3-4 times and head will pop right off.

You know you don't actually need to be a thief class to do it, I came across Medusa on accident and I used sword and shield I just climbed up her and did 3 swings and her head came clean off, which gave me the achievement.

Just an update to never use the ring that lowers your damage, just use weak daggers that can be enhanced with lightning and keep cutting at her head until it drops off. For me it came off after her 1st health bar dropped

*Equip augments: Stasis, lethallity,Vigor & verve* *save outside cave* *Give main pawn mage the ring of motility* (So they cant get stoned) *Use bolts of blue* (frost daggers will give withered head, & that's bad!) *Spam the carve attack on head & shoulders* (dont worry her health bar, she spaz out if right) *collect head/bones then ferrystone back to inn & store it* You're welcome.

Guys, if you're struggling to get the head just REMOVE the Attack Weakening Ring and you'll get the head in No Time! This guide would be 100% better by NOT recommending the Ring. All you really need are the Lightning daggers. Good Luck!

I ended up doing this... accidentally. This worked first try, your results may vary: Thief class using Divine Razors | Abilities: Skull splitter & Draw and Quarter **Head came off using skull splitter** Main pawn Fighter Hired Pawns: Archer & Mage (Mage gives elemental lightning buffs) All I did was spam Skull splitter on her head and it came off after one phase. I ended up searching this video because I didn't even realize what I had done lol. Good luck!

In slow motion at 2:57 , I'm pretty sure the fighter pawn is the one to behead medusa. There's a quick moment where the player stops attacking, and then a swing from the mounted fighter gets the beheading blow. Idk if it makes a difference, but I've tried like 5 times with the ring of derision with no luck with framae blades. Took the ring off and switched to bolts from the blue (no upgrades) and beheaded her taking about 1.5 bars of her health aquiring the preserved medusa head.

You dont need the Medusa head for the trophy. There is a 2nd way to petrify her, and that is to get the shield in the vault in the castle of vermont. The shield will deflect her gaze and turn her to stone in a few sec.

I just got “bolts from the blue” daggers and threw all my pawns off a cliff so I’d be solo. Then I climbed onto her and started carving her neck. Took like 20 seconds to cut her head off and that’s cause she threw me off twice. Didn’t even break the first Health bar. You ain’t gotta do all that extra sheit

Doesn't always work. They will wait for a little bit, then come right in anyways and you have to tell them to wait again. Then they will just run around and not attacking. So annoying.

30 Seconds as a Fighter. Get the key to the Vault in the Capital city of Vermund. Get the Daugther of Twilight shield. Equip said shield. Run to medusa and simply block while she looks at you. Easy peasy.

Pro tip, there is a Beastren who sells Grimoire in Bakbatthol, she lives under the house you purchase for 30k. Just buy the book that gives you a lightning buff and you are set.

This is lacking certain facts. The ring is amazing for getting Medusa to fall down to the ground. Immeadiately when she does, jump off, unequip the ring THEN do damage and it works. The reason it worked here was because the pawn was killing the boss at 2:57 and chopped off it's head.

warfarer (warrior + magic archer) put medusa to sleep with magic archer then use savage slash in the head, literally one hit kill (remember to dismiss your pawns at the entrance)

To get the Preserved Medusa Head, use Warfarer and equip daggers and a magic bow. Use Sporofic Arrow to sleep the Medusa, and then critically hit the head while she's asleep. It instantly gives you the head with no fuss. To petrify a Medusa without using a head, get the shield from the Vernworth castle vault. You can find a key to it in the Ancient Battleground. Simply dismiss your pawns before reaching Medusa and equip the Shield as Warfarer. Wait for Medusa to try to petrify you and then block. She will be instantly petrified at the same speed as a preserved medusa head. Keep in mind, petrifying her and other monsters grants no loot.

Hey guys! Bring your one pawn with you with revivify/roar & springboard make sure the the ring is on the pawn not yourself. Have them draw the aggro while doing no almost no damage.

As warrior: Climb onto Medusa's head when she releases the red light. When you are on the medusa's head, just let go and use the warrior's supreme ability. When Medusa falls, repeat the skill and her head will fall off. Much easier than this video tutorial.

I was able to full hp one shot her to get her head off. Use the magic archer. As soon as you walk in shoot a sedative arrow at her head, then while she’s sleeping shoot a flame fang arrow and it instakills

This method did not work for me, and for anyone struggling to get this achievement: you don’t need to use a weak weapon or the ring. Sadly, I wasted my time following the vid at first. You only need to get the bolts from the blue dagger-no ring required. any ring will do. kill Medusa ASAP by hitting her head. Don’t bring pawns or bring three full support mages. Thank God I checked other videos. Great video, and no offense to the uploader-I just wanted to share this for anyone having trouble with the achievement. This should not take more than a minute, if you do you are doing it wrong.

DO NOT EQUIP THE RING OF DERISION. I used some Maka guides before, but I gotta say in that one he dropped the ball pretty hard LMAO. If you equip this ring, you'll probably not be able to get the medusa's head. I lost almost an hour trying this, then I tried without the ring and did it in less than 20 seconds. Man... I cannot describe the rage 🤣. I repeat, DO NOT EQUIP THE RING OF DERISION.

If you cba changing vocation etc as a mystic spearhand you can still do it if you have the skill that keeps spinning the spear. She wraps herself around one of the pillars at one point and if you wedge yourself between her head and the pillar and spam square/x you can decipitate her

This game kills me. For every moment I find myself loving it that’s quickly stripped away by some absolute nonsense like bugged missions rendering my ferrystones completely useless or waiting 7 days for the head to not be preserved anymore. When I equipped the head before watching this video it allowed me to highlight the option “BRANDISH” I wanted to use it for the griffin mission for the sculptor but the second I entered the fight and went to use the head it was no longer an option. Absolutely stupid design and this game truly wastes your time like no other.

yeah of course you can, select it in the menu to put on your belt, then select it in menu again to brandish it and use it, it WILL decay over time, but you can store it in your storage box to prolong its lifetime a bit

The head will definitely rot after some days unless you put it in your storage. Perishables don’t decay when in your storage, so keep it there until you plan to fight bosses or do certain quests and it will stay viable.

because when you knock her down, you need damage. you can see his pawn attack her when shes down, thats when you need to take off the ring and hit her in the head with full damage

Do the set up but don't use the ring, keep attacking her head and it should work. I used two mage pawns alone and was able to get it done in seconds. I was level 50 with max thief vocation and a good weapon tho. Just don't use the ring.

I got a Medusa’s head after decapitating her, it says “it’s power of pétrification remains in full” but it just says Medusa head. Not preserved and not petrified… didn’t get achievement either. Is it better than the preserved?

I can't even get to ger head, by the time I get to her back she just knocks me off, fcking stupid design, I don't know how you did it but I been sitting here fighting her for 15 mins and havnt gotten a single hit on her head cause she just throws me off every single time, and then to make things even worse, she has glitches herself half way into the wall, her upper half is sticking out but it has her leaned forward so her head is upside down into the floor where she shot her snake arrow aoe so now I can get anywhere near her. So glad they took the extra time to litterally not fix a thing in the game and you get encounters like this. Edit: 1 hour later and head still will not come off, im done, this achievment is not so immportant that I'm gonna waste my time on an encounter thats janky af, there is litterally no fun in it, my thumb is all cramped up i did a quarter of her first health bar in damage with the ring on and using electric elemental daggers and nothing. Biggest waste of time ever. Ill just kill her and be done with it.

Wait for her gaze attack, once the Gaze attack is ongoing Climb to her. She will not knock you off while shes on gaze. And dont use the ring as the video said its not gonna work.

I just equipped the bolts of blue with stamina augments, and as intended i was able to decapitate the head before the first health bar.

@@StormTheeOmega It's a hidden dagger you can get early game. deals lightning dmg. search it up for guide how to get it - but it's been two months. you probably got it already.

Is there a second way to keep Medusa's head preserved forever other than just putting it in your house inventory, I heard on RU-vid something about the sorcerer has an ability to keep a preserved forever but I don't know what that is?
