Pretty sure Flemeth knew Solas was coming for her so she sent off a piece of her soul to survive through the mirror; like with Morrigan, before her confrontation. Making sure she would survive whatever the outcome with Solas would be.
I've always thought that the fragment of Mythal that possessed/bonded with Flemeth was keeping herself alive specifically so that she could give her power to the Dread Wolf. In my eyes all the possession of daughters was all leading up to this. Mythal is literally the one Solas is avenging so it makes sense she wants to help.
@Denise Allen If you look even closer, you can see that Flemeth sent something through the Eluvian before she talked to Solas. If she could be revived by part of her lifeforce in the Amulet she gave to Hawk, why can't it be done twice?
@@guddefulgaming I completely forgot about that amulet she gave Hawke, I wonder if we will see that! Another thing I thought of is that whoever drank from the well, Inquisitor or Morrigan, is still bound to her. Maybe using them or the amulet she will revive herself somehow.
This scene actually touched my heart. You can hear Solas' emotion and agony. It is hard to bear the pain of a failure that you would run to your mother/teacher.
I wonder if Flemeth had intended to punish Solas for his mistake of giving the orb to Corypheus. When Solas apologizes, Flemeth also says "I am sorry as well, old friend.". I wonder if that meant she was sorry for what she was about to do but Solas struck first.
I think you're right. And I think that ties in with her sending something through the Eluvian. I think she's been hanging on for thousands of years and preparing for whatever her vengeance was that she wouldn't so easily get outwitted and die right there, especially by someone she knows so well
I think Flemmeth put Mythal's soul into the mirror, which leads to the fade. Morrigan is connected to Mythal, will accept the soul into her. What Solas absorbed was the Old God that Flemmeth took from Morrigan's son.
What if your warden gave morrigan a human son and died killing the archdemon? Tbh I have no idea if Flemmeth willingly died here or just didn't strike first.
I think Solas absorbed Mythals soul (whether she was willing or not) for at one point she refers to herself as a shadow that has lingered in the sun for too long, So she allowed him (probably) to absorb her so that he could bring an end to their lingering which she could not do. which would give him more power to help the people, I'm not sure what he means when he says that? Is he trying to restore what the elves once where by combining the powers of the Dread wolf and Mythal? he could release the elven gods once more in an attempt to set things right, maybe the fade corrupted the gods after being locked away their for so long and he doesn't realize it and still releases them? well whatever happens (to Solas at least) i hope in will be a dlc.... BECAUSE MY ELF DID NOT HAVE THE LAST WORD! "here let me show my love by taking away your face tats so they wont remind me how much i messed up! oh your so pretty now!.... ok well sorry but we're over let me leave you by this lake you'll eventually find your way back to Skyhold, tatty bye now!" ...I will find that elven "god" smack him around a bit, then drag his "holiness" back to my bedroom and by the maker my elf will cease to be a virgn!!
Ashley Keeton Here's something from the designer’s notes from the code of the game that should explain it a bit better. Credit to amagicrobot from tumblr for this She knew that Solas would summon her, and that he would need to steal her power to further his plans. She knew that because they are both elven gods… yet Solas has slept for a thousand years and his power dwindled, while she was killed long ago and a spark escaped from her into the body she now holds. She has nurtured that spark, and knew that Solas would need it. He was once her oldest friend, but she knows that in his drive to restore the elven people he will kill anyone- even her. She intends to let him have the power, so long as she can pass the essence of her god-hood onto Morrigan, a gift Flemeth had always planned for her daughter yet one Morrigan misunderstood as hostile possession.
+killercookie15 I don't think it will be a matter of good or evil in the next dragon age, Solas is trying to restore the Elven people's world and legacy, in a sense trying to save your people is not a bad thing at all, but the consequences in doing so are very bad for pretty much any other race and the current world as it is, so people might perceive it as a threat, but it does not make Solas "evil", the once I'm more worried about are the old elven gods who Solas sealed away, and will be free again if he breaks the veil. Those guys ARE evil, no matter what perspective.
***** I'm talking about the elven "gods" not the dragon "old gods" the dragon old gods were evil when corrupted by the darkspawn yes. You are mixing up the Old gods (dragons) and the Elven Gods
Sorry for the late response. Remember DA2 where Flemeth gives Hawke an amulet containing a "fragment" of her being, and even talks about being able to be in multiple places at once? I would be surprised if that ability won't come back into play somehow
And If... Mythal has taken Solas and not viceversa...? I mean, possession of his body and soul Like... I'm so sorry as well..... For what.....? That's sound sus Doesn't appeal as theory but........ Man, if is was like this? The trickster being tricked by the Goddess he believed the most precious and she'll take down the veil and the Gods will return?
Man, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT SO HAPPY TO SEE A COMMENT LIKE THIS 😪 EVEN IF SOLAS SEEM SO STRONG AFTER HIS WOKEN UP, -sorry caps- he remain more weak, in my theory, than Mythal that was pretty active in those years. But above all, that... Excuse me. WHY SHE SAID I'M SO SORRY TOO? For what?? For the past??? I don't believe! What she can be guilty of in the past?! ABOVE ALL WHEN ALL THE FAULT COME FROM SOLAS, HE TRICKED ALL THE DEITIES!!! No, man, no. She mean of something fishy in the present, to an action she is doing RN!! I think she COULD BE THE ONE that steal the soul, I mean, THAT token possession of the body and the mind of Mr. Eggs Potato to free HER "FAMILY-KINDA-OF/GODS". And this is why she felt so bad! She is a sweety-heart, a kindred mother of all elven (as Solas said often-he also can be taken aback from her CAUSE SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE HER CAPABLE OF THIS AUDACITY), but she also loves more and has been true to his family of gods and she'll do everything in her power (or maybe she is obligated to do?) to backup to the old days. AND THIS MAKE THE EPILOGUE SHE TAKE HIS SOUL LOOK AT THE TRAILER OF D4 He doesn't seem himself... Or well, yes, okey, we can see he perfectly himself but that sadness in his eyes... That's red aurea... SUS We feel a conflict in him... It is the usual, the moral one, the heavy burden of his action he'll do OR SOMETHING MORE FISHY? *Also, sorry for this euphoria :P But I'm so happy to speculate about it!! Sorry for the caps and all!
