I absolutely love this track. It is the perfect mixture of relaxing and enigmatic - makes you feel like you can rest there, but not fully let your guard down. There is an odd uneasiness and even silent terror notable in the composition that I can't quite explain... Like a calm before a storm. And it is very fitting for the "Broken Circle" quest. Genius piece.
Exactly. The soft bells and uhh "whooshy" (?) Sound make you quite uncertain whether its the wind, or some magical horror in the mist-covered tower looming ahead.
@@destructiveraider Well you did say it better in the comment above. Also, it's great visual design with the darkness of the night and the moon behind the tower giving it a dark menacing figure
To my perception, this track is absolutely Lovecraftian. It is literally the spirit of Lovecraft books in music. Dreamlike, surreal, cosy and yet lowkey frightening. One can easily imagine some backwaters of the world, some godforgotten lighthouse or docks hiding some dark truths and legends to this music.
That's a great track, relaxing, yet I get chills in my spine knowing I'm being so close to the Ferelden circle. Who knows what's happening in there O.O
The sound of a place where you can just rest and let your head hang down for a good nap. Too bad about the tower full of demons over there, but c’est le vie, what can you do?
For some reason I can't shake off the feeling that I've heard this with certain instruments much more pronounced. Though to be fair, I felt that way with some other DA:O tracks as well, so maybe it's just that they got "enhanced" in my memory during gameplay. But I wonder if there's some other version of this that exists, perhaps in DA2 (I'm aware that this exact version plays on the Wounded Cost, but that isn't it either)
