Imagine seeking out all 7 dragon balls for years, 3 wishes in mind. You finally summon shenron and he goes "nah, 3 wishes are only for repeat customers" 😑
One of my favorite bits in this episode was Shenron. Shenron being an absolute homie by being specific with the rules of a wish with Gohma and peaced out prevented the two other wishes from being used. That.. and to be fair, he was rudely awoken so he has the right to be sassy
From what I remember. You can make less wishes so the DBs are available faster. They could have used a Canon reason that speeding it up and making them available earlier made less wishes too.
Not gonna lie, I'd still have to fight Shenron if I was Goku. He granted the wish even though he knew it would turn Goku into a kid lol. Shenron gotta get catch a Kamehameha at least once.
I hope it works and he ends surrounded by young women who think the little kid is being adorable then he gets changed back and they all get disappointed and leave.
Make him younger instead of a creepy old man the same actions become flirty instead of a perverse. Yes there is a difference because old Roshi takes it too far and crosses one too many boundaries.
i like the parallel to the frieza saga where they start building a ship to get to somewhere far away -> another space ship arrives/is found -> 3 people go ahead while one person goes later. can't wait for the fake demon world arc.
the team of Goku, Picolo, Vegeta, Bulma, and the two Demon relam residents is more classic Dragon Ball than the GT comparisons everyone made. plus, gives Vegeta, Bulma, and Picolo something to do.
The Nameless Namekian when he got to Earth, was a small kid that thought his space ship was only a weird house, so he didn't knew he was an alien. Ages after he separated into Kami and Piccolo, he figured out it wasn't a house, but only had the confirmation he didn't came from Earth when the Saiyans invaded and called Piccolo a namekian.
Shenron refusing to grant more wishes is great, I always wondered if Dende could make it so that wishes could never be used against the Z-warriors. Goku retrieving the Power Pole simply gives those strong OG Dragon Ball vibes and is amazing truly a Toriyama story.
@@dragonkingoscurare1092 Technically the original lore states Sheron must grant a wish to whoever summons him. I love that shenron twisted the rules to prevent further damage. Limited himself to just granting one wish. Like immediately he sensed he just granted a wish that going to cause a lot of damage .
I do like the implication of Glorio's arrival that there isnt just a single Demon King, that there are apparently multiple worlds within the Demon Realm each with their own King, and Dabura was being implicated as the Supreme King, sort of the leader of the rest. It would seem that the Demon Realm is basically just another Universe, just no one given a number designation like the twelve we know
*sigh* Masako… come on. The nameless namek came to earth in a spaceship from Namek… when meeting Guru, Kami is referred to as the son of Katas. They all know each other. When piccolo comes to Namek, he talks about how familiar it feels to him. The what if’s are infecting your brain, I swear. The bird at the end is a tribute to toriyama as well. Tori means bird. Akira Tori and Yama are also used as song lyrics in the OP. Mr. red door, can’t see when the door isn’t just red for once.
Neva is probably big bad guy, I mean Piccolo said it himself "Namek''s dont like to be ruled" and Neva is currently a subject in Gomah kingdom (so he probably plays his own game)
@@BlackThane Interesting. The other character who is going to be introduced the little girl could be the twist villain. She could actually be shin sister in disguise playing the long con.
Yes, Daima seems to be a love letter to og Dragon Ball and who's the main villain of og Dragon Ball? An ancient Namekian. I think Neva is this show's equivalent of Demon King Piccolo and like Piccolo I think he will use the Dragon Balls to restore his youth.
I will say, Glorio being from some kingdom that sent him on this task is, I'd say, basically confirmed to be a lie by the fact that he didn't watch Goku's fight with Majin Buu with his king, he watched it in Gomah's palace, as we see him there after Gomah and co. had seen it and decided to kiddify Goku and co., not to mention Shin being extremely suspicious of him.
Kami was born after the Nemekians left. Cuz remember Piccolo is effectively the nameless Nemekian again after fusing with Kami, assuming that he got all of Kami's memories as well, and he said he was born after that time.
@@marshallseldon4200I think so too because Kami wouldn't remember or have been old enough but maybe Guru told Nail about it and that's why Piccolo knows about Neva
My only real girpe with the episode was Vegeta being brushed off. He had an excellent point: 2 kid sized people can easily fit in a seat made for an adult.
I imagine in the Dub they’ll refine it to be like “no you don’t get it, if you try to pass the demon realm portal with 4 people your balls explode” or something
That could actually be a fun April What If: "What if Saitama was Roshi's Father?" Something about breaking realities... A Turtle Goddess... Adventures with young Mutaito...
9:42 Sixth rule of Popo's training I genuinely believe the one shot of little Popo looking off at Goku after he did that was a nod to TFS's Popo. It had to have been, they did a similar one in Super before.
I was thinking "Why aren't they using Porunga to cancel the Turn Into Children Wish but I suppose that if Daima's events are very close to the end of Buu Saga, then Namek's dragon balls are inactive since they used Porunga there. Also there's a possibility the Namekians have been turned into children yeah. Also "Why aren't you using the Hyperbolic Lion Tamer to train your new body ?" the room might not have been fixed after Super Buu's rampage.
I have long figured Shenron had some leeway in how the rules work, and he mostly uses them in the way he thinks is funniest, especially if it screws over bad guys.
Gomah, Arinsu, and Degesu are almost certainly the "Pilaf gang" of this series. I wouldn't be shocked if Arinsu shows up in the Super manga after getting de-aged and she's Goten's love interest lol
two episodes and it already feels far better than super in every way. Im just happy that piccolo gets to be a main character again. The fact that the nameks are getting more lore ( like how they should have been getting before in the anime ) is already great, but based on the opening and closing, piccolo is definitely going on this journey too, and i would have been super freakin nettled if this was just another goku and vegeta show. Seeing piccolo, shin kai, and kibito getting to be actual characters is awesome.
I'm sorry but throughout the entire episode, I perplexed by the fact that MR. POPO HAS HORNS!!! AND NO ONE MENTIONED IT!. Like as an adult, you think has horns for pointy? Or curve backed? Or maybe he file them like hellboy.
I guess I'm not shocked Goku and Piccolo don't mention them. Both of them spent years living with him, it makes sense they probably saw him without his turban
Dragon Ball Diama has been really good so far to me. It feels like classic Toriyama mystery, adventure, lure beautiful animation new characters action, comedy and you cant forget the music is on point. Ill be happy to watch this show all the way through.
I'm calling it now, Shenron considers the dragon team his friends, and he gives 3 wishes to his friends. I think you might have missed the part where Piccolo said he wasn't born in the demon realm, he only knows about it second hand (I'm guessing this means he's using Kame's memories, but that makes me wonder if Kame came from the demon realm or if he meant that even Kame wasn't born there.) Though that makes me wonder if Guru came from the demon realm or if it's been multiple generations since they arrived.
Yeah, my sis and I found Shenlong's "Sorry, three wishes are for regulars, newcomers only get one." commentary hilarious! And we also liked Bulma taking a look at Glorio's ship to use it as a reference for Supreme Kai's. Also, and I admit I might be remembering this wrong, but back in Z didn't King Kai say that the Nameless Namekian left Namek for Earth after a cataclysm of some kind nearly wiped the race out about 5-6 centuries prior to start of DB? With, I believe, the only other survivor being Guru. I'm thinking the Kami in Piccolo won't remember anything about the Demon Realm, ever, simply because he's never been there before, the Namekians left multiple generations before that cataclysm...which would make Neva probably thousands of years old...OK, now taking bets that the old coot wished for immortality at some point!
Hey guys 👀 What if EVERYONE was a Z-fighter? Mr Popo and Yajirobe fusion anybody?? A sentient Saibaman joins the team?? Hercule acquiring ultra ego?? Battle of the rage-heads Chi-Chi vs Broly?? OOLONG THE MIGHTY SUPER SWINE!?!?
I remember seeing the scene with Shenron and thinking "oh they made that up for this series," thinking back to Resurrection F. But then I remembered. THE PILAF GANG WAS THERE!
I was sceptical about the whole "turned into kids again" setup but I have to say, I am absolutely digging the vibes of the show so far. One thing I wish for though is that Daima is actually put into canon and later be integrated into the continuation of the Dragon Ball Super Manga/Storyline. I don't want to have yet another branch/fork of the story as it was done with GT / Super
Before Daima started, one of the many rumors is that characters appearing in Daima will be making an appearance in Super later. Fingers crossed that it’s accurate.
I feel like knowledge of the Demon Realm would have been more accessible for Nail instead of the Nameless Namekian. The young Nameless Namekian likely had heard of the legends, but they could have taken the wrong the meaning of the legends to heart (thus creating King Piccolo). Nail was the bodyguard of Guru; Guru likely spoke about the Demon Realm to him in passing (perhaps holidays, seasonal changes, etc.).
With it being revealed that Namekians were from the demon realm, it makes you think: "Maybe at one point Kami as a kid wanted to be the Supreme Demon King and that's why King Piccolo called himself the Demon King.".
The Nameless Namekian seemed to have amnesia about a lot of things about his origins, but it could well be that he had a childish hope that if he could just be more powerful, he could make things OK. It would rather explain why the previous Kami wanted him go purge himself of that evil before it could become a problem
The implications of the wish should be a discussion in its own right. Is King Kai a kid? What about people like Launch who were friends with Goku, but drifted apart? Would they be exempt? Also, the fact that Daima would just not happen in Abridged is hilarious
Bulma and Roshi: “Oh my God, he’s a parent!” Anyway, this episode was slow, but I enjoyed the comedy and character interactions. I’m a little curious about Glorio as he was in the throne room spying, so why tell them something different. Goku trusting him immediately is pretty in character, though. He isn’t one to distrust a new person unless they are clearly hiding something or openly malicious.
If I could make one wish on the dragon balls I would bring Toriyama back. I'm happy he's left on a high note with Diama. It's looking like it will be one of Dragon Ball's best series yet, but I don't know if I see a world where Dragon Ball continues without him. He was one of a kind in how he made his stories and he wasn't one to leave notes for the future. One can only see so far though, I hope there is a way Dragon Ball can continue. Akira Toriyama is, and will always be, one of the best mangaka of all time. Keep an eye over HFIL for us; we don't want cell getting out before he's rehabilitated.
I'm honestly glad you had a similar thought about the Nameks potentially being made young. I don't think they'll touch up on that, but it certainly still leaves the possibility due to how the wish was formulated.
0:50: Hey Masako, did you forget that Dabura went to HEAVEN in the Buu saga? And hung out with the ladies on DBZ and gossiped about boys and love and such? I'm sure he was only evil because of Babidi's control. He WAS Majin-ified, after all.
I like the decision of having the rest of the crew join in later. It gives the new characters time to shine and you can shake up the group dynamic before it starts to get stale.
I'm hooked. Episode was over way too quickly, felt like five minutes. Bulma is above the gods confirmed, they just obey her orders with minimal fuss. Only Whis outranks her. This makes her actions in Battle of Gods believable because she assumed Beerus would obey like the rest of them.
Gohan arrives powerful as ever. Piccolo : help me gohan i can'f access my power. Gohan nodds. Picks up piccoo and throws him at the mountain. Piccolo : i said i was sorry. I want to see kid gohan to interact with kid videl. Maybe chi chi will join them on the adventure
Considering y'all managed to fit like 5 DBZ episodes in every DBZA episode and Daima will only have 20 episodes, what are the chances you guys do a Daima Abridged? It would only be 4-5 videos.
I really really reaaaaaaallly home Tienshinhan has a role to play, with the enemy after a third eye. It seems like a perfect fit to be related to Tien and to give him a boost.
I liked the episode and the explanation they gave for why nobody could fly and stuff it was pretty well explained, also did anyone else think glorio was mira?
roshi is definitely gunna try to make the most out of this minification, probably knows goku and the others are gunna try to undo it so he is not even worried about it he is just gunna enjoy it and if he has to grow up the old fashion way, i doubt he'd be apposed to it since he already has a means of immortality
In the manga Dabura is sent to Heaven, because apparently hes so evil that he would actually enjoy being in Hell, so he was sent to Heaven as a punishment
I hope we get to see Elder Kai as a kid in this lol I wonder if he would react the same way that Master Roshi is reacting to all of this that would be funny. Also how interesting would it be if Glorio ended up being Mira before Towa turned him into an android?
What about the stuff regarding Shin using a spaceship to reach Universe 7? Since he can freely travel between the regular universes and the palace of Zeno, why did he need a spaceship? Where exactly did the Kaios come from?
Surprisingly, so far, the primary focus in Daima has been on the story and lore. Quite unlike other series, where we have fights and conflicts almost every episode.
Thoughts so far on the past 2 episodes. Visually stunning, the animation is just incredible, the colors and everything are super appealing. LOVE the art direction taken here! The story premise is certainly interesting. Theres stakes at play now, with the dragon balls out of commission and Dende is kidnapped, AND we don't have any gods or Zeno buttons to push if things get too out of hand! This is a series where we can entirely forget about Super, maybe not completely retconning Super, but adding in a new story inbetween, just like the Dragon Ball Z TV special from back in the day. Naturally with more plot and exposition there will be retcons, but I can't really see this series creating a completely new timeline.
I like the "only my regulars get the new 3 wishes deal!" thing because it fits with what we'd already established, which is that if the dragon brings someone back to life and their body's a wreck, he will fix up that body "as a bonus" if he likes you, but since he DIDN'T like Freeza, hey, here you go, giblets, good luck with that. I suspect the "demon realm" is just full of people who rejected the order of Xeno. "Oh, don't want to follow the hierarchy of the angels and gods? Banished!" Then, hell set up it's OWN hierarchy, so the namekians said "What happened demon realm? You used to be COOL! We're OUTTA HERE!" I think Piccolo, who remember is a reincarnation of King Piccolo, also has knowledge passed down in planet Namek's culture. That is, that knowledge came from Nail.
(haven't seen the episode yet, just what masako is talking about BUT) I had abridged on the brain and was thinking 'why can't piccolo just ask kami in his mind about these new things?' and then I was like oh yeah, that's not a thing he really does in the show
Not to be a nitpicker but wouldn't the 3rd part of Abura's line have to simply be called "Ka"? Cause that's when you get "Abura, Ka, Dabura". If they're called "Kadabura" you'd have "Abura, Kadabura, Dabura" which wouldn't really fit in the "Bibidi, Babidi, Buu" trope right?
Real quick, the only 1 wish rule is bul since in Resurrection F arc the frieza force got 3 and in the movie got 2, unless the wish counted as Pilaf's which he wasn't the one to make the first wish. I get they want to make chage stuff up but the little details they changed so far contradicts things which can put the canonisity we know into question
I hope you really discus the opening soon cause I heard it and the tribute moment it gave to Akira Toriyama. In a small line you hear ‘Tori’ then a bit later ‘Yama’ then in next sentence ‘Akira’
