It would be extremely hard to forgive him and to forget all the shit he has done because of how long he has been an antagonist for a very long time. In fact, I doubt he would become a good guy or anti-hero simply for how long he has been a bad guy. Personally, I believe it was just a one-time deal because of the tournaments. In all my years in watching Dragon Ball, reading the manga, it was never stated that Goku was a High class saiyan. He's not like Vegeta or Broly, or Frieza who were born with tremendous power level, he was born a weakling, matter of fact he was such a weak saiyan that he was still in a nursing capsule (says Raditz). But you know something? whether he's a high or lower class saiyan, it doesn't matter, those ranking systems in planet vegeta don't mean anything, I mean just look at how strong Goku is now, the kais even stated that if SSG Goku and Beerus kept fighting, it would end up with the entire universe being destroyed, could you imagine that? Goku could destroy a universe just by clashing fist with Beerus? and remember that was a long time ago, he's obviously leagues above his past self.
