They could probably make a 30min ep for each arc, this one just being mostly jokes. A GT abridged trilogy sounds cool. Like moviefying Baby, Super 17, and Omega

I would laugh so hard if they condensed the whole of GT into one 5 minute Kai episode for something like an April Fools prank.

​@@Unotuchable I always assumed that was the part where the writers realized the this arc wasn't really panning out the way they intended so they hard pivoted into Baby without any real idea of how to get there. Unfortunately, they lacked the writing skills Toriyama had when he pivoted Androids 19 & 20 all the way into Cell. My theory is Luud was supposed to end with Whip Mutchy & Luud. Luud might have even originally been unrelated to Myuu honestly. Dolltaki was introduced as a clumsy way to intergrate the Dr. Myuu storyline. Just the entire premise that the entire Luud religion, on the planet Luud, was made from Myuu hiring Dolltaki years and years ago, and even though Luud is actually a real machine powered by all that energy, it was supposed to be transferred to Baby. It's all too convoluted to be intentional. Of course my memory is a little hazy from the last time I actually watched GT, so I might be missing something, but I honestly can't sit through that again.

@@Jedi-xm7rw My take is that a large part of it was simply that the writers wanted to write the universe as a place to explore and not just have a few places. So they setup civilizations in the galaxy that have actual leaders and stuff.

You could argue that Frieza was an amalgamation of a bunch of prior villains himself: A diminutive dictator like Pilaf and Red, a deadly fighter who's signature move is a fingertip ki blast who loses to Goku then comes back as a cyborg for revenge (and then dispatched by someone else before his chance at revenge) just like Taopaipai, and an evil dark lord sitting on a throne and commanding some terrified underlings like King Piccolo.

Plus he takes over Vegeta and goes Great Ape, so he even gets the Saiyan Arc in there.

I found the complication to be satisfying. He's not "just" a revenge crazed weirdo. He IS, but he went to a LOT of work building a small empire as a means to his end. the amount of work he put in was quite impressive.

It’s funny because when I first watched Sonic X Season 3 as a kid, I didn’t question anything. Then I rewatched the entire show. Aside from Chris being the most annoying thing in the show, S3 just made me ask what is going on with half of the seasons. Honestly I just feel like some things didn’t make any sort of sense to me.

It woulda made sense if it was anyone BUT a genocidal scientist. Like we've established this since Frieza being spared for Goku. Freaking Dr. Myuu cant even give Goku a fight...not to mention they need to hurry with the Black Star Dragonballs...

you know what? as frustrating as "I want to fight that" can be, I would rather take GOku and/or vegeta risking the whole world out of their established trait of being obsessed with fighting than characters just standing there not doing anything.

Some things are done better, they sorta fumbled with the whole revenge on the saiyans plot. Baby, heck I’d even argue Dr Mu were better antagonist than Granola.

Agreed. Japan seems to go for revealing Point C without telling you the Point B in the process. And US prefers not telling you the Point B and C.

My stance is "If knowing in advance what happens ruins the experience, then it wasn't good to begin with." This, however, does not mean that there's no value in a blind experience. My favorite example of this is "The Shawshank Redemption" where I love to watch my friends watch it for the first time. They get to see the story come together, I get to watch them see it come together, and sometimes I even get something new out of it that I didn't notice before.

@@Erritiguei1 I Never really liked the line "If knowing in advance ruins the experience, then it wasn't good to begin with" because it's not true at all and is mostly used to excuse spoiling things by people who don't care about others wanting to have a blind experience, it also doesn't take into account stories that are based around the viewer being blind to things such as Mystery stories or Surprise/Twist events that are the most effective because you don't see them coming. Sure you can get a different kind of enjoyment from seeing hints or lead ups that you normally wouldn't have noticed if you didn't know who done it/that thing was going to happen, but it still robs you of the first experience of not knowing and being surprised at what happens or being able to try and guess what the twist or mystery is before the episode/movie reveals it, giving more of an impact on your enjoyment of something because it triggered that surprised emotion out of you be it happyness, sadness, anger, or excitement that you wouldn't have gotten because you saw that event coming. So while it might not ruin the different kinds of experiences you can have from a certain piece of media, it does ruin the blind experience and robs you of having it to begin with, which then robs you of the rewatch experience where you can pick up on the more subtle clues or foreshadowing that was leading up to it that you missed during the blind watch.

don't forget about manga purists such as myself, we also use that kinda of thing to talk smack about anime as a medium 🤓
