The fact that CC rewards are reduced each update, while the FOMO Powercreep of new units is accelerating is worrying, it really feel like the devs are maybe not realising that they are heading straight toward Naruto Blazing demise, and thats sad.

That's how I "watch" showcases at times... I've been playing Legends for 5 years, don't need to watch the screen to understand which character is doing what, just need the audio feed.
here's my thoughts: Legends team definitely has some sort of communication issue between their team. There has been many many instances where they did something and it affected the game negatively and we see the effect of that to this very day, example: 14 star system and the Zenkai system. They also reduce chrono crystals for some reason whenever they roll out an update, look at battle gauntlet, adventures, coop, USTR and I am afraid they will do the same for TOP. They don't care about story, it only progresses when a huge celebration is happening. The daily stamp system is awful, it shouldn't reset if you miss out a day. There's no end game content, once you have grinded out ccs as a beginner done all the soul boosting and other stuff most of your ccs come from stamps, TOP and PvP. CooP too if you wanna do that, it just makes the game boring. There's so many resources to manage, zenis, souls, zenkai souls, zenkai medals, xy and z medals (pun intended) and many more which seems worthless to do. The equipment awakening system is trash as well. It just hinders the quality of the game and makes the target playerbase, not want to play the game and I don't know why they can't understand it. They literally get carried by dragon ball franchise. If it was another gacha game they would've shut down. I know there are many people playing the game but give them an enjoyable experience. I think many of the DBL devs are just stupid
Again i need to dismantle this. 1-the battle gaunlet. Its 70% shorter so its obvious u wont get the same cc. Maybe they’ll change it later on. Also, we got slot removers and rush medals as an extra. Reduce chrono christals? Tf? Since when, this is the first reducion in 1 year. Also we got the namek event, which gives CC. The story? They progress it every month, they just took a break since they done SSB shallot recently. About the daily reset system, its great ur just lazy and forget. The equipment part and 14 star part are right.

I would definitely rather have the 100 floors back with 700 cc. No only that but winning 100 matches with a certain character was way easier because I just basically had to finish the gauntlet with the character and that’s it, ez collateral
Anyone else remember when the Raids gave you 1,000 CC just by playing it one time? Then they nerfed it by giving less CC and making you have to play it 20+ times to get rewards? This game just keeps getting worse and worse. It peaked at the first anniversary.
I think my biggest issue with the SBMM Is that the game is a Gacha. With something like COD I think it works there because if you need to get better you just need to get better, at worse you need to grind. In Legends if you aren't doing good, you need to use more money. Your skill doesn't matter in this game, your wallet does.
I already had a bad feeling when they announced the Ranking system change. The idea of a freaking GACHA GAME being a competitive PVP game is completely absurd and the devs either need to realize that or actually start giving a crap about properly balancing this game.
The skill based matchmaking change has to be the worse. Playing at a brand new season feels like your playing at BR70. Idk why they try to make the PvP in this game fair when things like rushing rush, card locking and paralysis exists. Just L after L after L bro.

My 3 biggest issues with this update: 1. Matchmaking "fixing" flop 😔 2. The UI (personally I absolutely hate the way players are displayed in PVP now) 😠 3. They absolutely messed up on LF FP Frieza's Zenkai 😠😡🤬
I am so glad goresh sees it the way I do. I was excited to use my ginyu team at reset but all I run into is UVB & go frieza so I have to use my anniversary team. It was very disappointing

I think that this update was purely made to have a big update this year since they seem to have one every year, perhaps they felt pressured by higher ups to have a “big update” for some reason or maybe they just completely dropped the ball thinking this was a good idea
I’m amazed Goresh can imagine there’s a testing phase. Because if there was, half the releases that this game has had would not have been the way they were. Goku Frieza is a prime example. They would have known from the start that they needed adjustments. Piccolo probably wouldn’t have been so terrible
They probably do test but they go based off casual players which majority of them are probably kids so they are actually doing a good job because kids eat this up

I like the skill based matchmaking and I think it makes sense for a casual player like me. The double RP season last season was totally a ploy to get people like me to play at a bunch so they could get a reading on me and I'm sure the day that they got on people like me as a way different than the day-to-day got on people like you Goresh I've been having the most fun I've ever had playing competitive because people I play against are creative with their team compositions and those that aren't I feel like I'm actually prepared to stand up against 😅
Legends L as usual. Fr though, they were doing solid until this update. Haven't played in a long while but seeing this effected their main gameplay which is PVP and other stuff, they need to fix this as soon as possible.

I personally HATE the way the nameplates look now in PvP. Before this update it looked like an actual stylized stat displayer. Now it looks similar to how it was in the early days of Legends. With barely anything on there.
Still no update for ultra space time rush... Only being able to collect 25 gold rush medals isnt enough but for some reason the Devs haven't realised that... And still only being able to collect 25 gold rush medals but it says 30 times per zenkaiable unit... Make it make sense
I no longer play this game but i do still watch the vids. It's clear that while you might not see the game as competitive the dev's do and its clear by their updates and how they treat units on release. PVP shouldnt be in gatcha games plain and simple, this game is a prime example of it.

As f2p the cc is intensively getting more difficult, especially when you get shafted on something its hard to recover from, im 22k down the drain for rose and its insanely difficult to get back cc
I was using the Ginyu Force yesterday and I only have them at three stars and because of the new matchmaking, I was put against some really good players, some I’m pretty sure were of higher skill level. I was forced to add Goku/Frieza to my team to even compete Then again, I also fought a 14 VB, and he was the dumbest player alive who constantly went full screen so IDK 🤦♂️ The only positive is that at least the time waiting for a match is much faster, 8/10 times it takes like ten seconds to find a match
I quit the game mostly because of everyone using UVB and now LF blue namku and the fact that I have rotten luck with summons. Unless you don't have either of those things, you're better off uninstalling the game. So thanks for nothing, toshi and team.
I remember we used to get 1,000cc from the battle gauntlet but now it’s down to 300. Then they replaced it with mid rewards slot removers is alright but regular rush medals not even the Zenkai ones L update. They keep taking away ways for us to get CC but want us to enjoy the game yeah right 🤦🏾♂️
Legends has always had an issue and this makes it worse. Investing in any character especially now feels pretty much pointless when they'll be power crept within 3 weeks of release. I genuinely despise the leader slot I knew day one that was a horrible decision and were still feeling that to this day.

It feels like there just needs to be an unranked mode that goes off your current actual rank. Honestly this feels mostly like the issues Goresh listed are for content creators that want to showcase new units then anyone else but I could be wrong
i've been playing a good amount of rating matches since the new update, and here are my observations (to put things in perspective, I run what I think is the best team in the game with GF, UVB, and SOH Trunks, and I usually rank between 15,000 and 30,000 depending on how much time I have to play) When I match at first (meaning first match of the day), I don't really notice much different. If I win, I just fight better teams, which is no different then it has been for me, but if i lose 1-2 matches in a row, I get matched with what are presumably VERY new players, or bots. Hard for me to tell. This usually lasts until I win a couple times. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to clown on people that are bad, but not if I feel like it's being handed to me after I lose 1-2 games. I also don't think the "Formidable Foe" system works correctly at all. I have approx. 230 good games, 2200 wins, and a very developed team. But I faced a guy with 23 good games running a Zenkai 3 Purple Goku Black, Ultra Rose, and BLU Zamasu. Needless to say, the match was over within 30 counts. But he was a "Formidable Foe. I am not going to make my final judgments until I see how the fine tuning of this system goes. For you, who consistently ranks in God Rank and is debatably one of the most knowledgable and best Legends players on earth, I think this system shafts specifically you, and players like you. I think for someone at my caliber, who is a little bit under that level of money spent and knowledge/skill, the changes are a tad less noticeable for me.
The biggest issue is that now since we are matched by skill level, every match boils down to who has the better/ who has more stars on their characters. Then it becomes everyone using the same team because now its even HARDER to use other characters/fun teams. This is a god awful update. My first match this morning was against a fully 14 star future team........at rank 53.
Almost a year ago this video was made by Goresh, just wanted to give my opinion on SBMM in DB Legends. The concept of SBMM is good, but not in a gacha game, it gets tiring for everyone to face the same teams. Back before this was implemented, the teams would differentiate, also ranking up wasn't dependant on meta. I hope they return the normal matchmaking before 7th Year Anniversary for Ranked. Less people touch Ranked nowadays, even former God Rank players.
When it comes to FP Frieza's Zenkai. I hope everyone who looked forward to his Zenkai understands how I felt when LL VBs Zenkai happened now. I do think hes decent, he did get things unlike LL VB (I'm not letting it go)
Comparing full power Frieza to Vegito is not a fair comparison one unit was the king of the game legit a must run the other was a good unit it's understandable why they held back with Vegito on releases he was insane the game itself had to be changed for him to be balanced compared to full power Frieza who was a good unit to use but nothing special
TF? Vegito was actually really good.. I wasnt really an amazing player back when he released (only grinded to top 10k rank) but i was still able to do that when i switched to VB on my team so he definitely wasnt a liability (this was when LF Cooler released and was miles ahead of everyone else) Used him with tagdroids and purple cell on future team and he helped me destroy lots of cooler's teams, i loved using him.
I've slowly quit playing and didn't even notice. Thats scary for the game when that starts happening. I'll have to remind myself to log on but by then the stamps are messed up so it doesn't matter and I don't bother.
I believe a way they could solve the issue of seeing the same 5 characters in every match, would be to implement extra damage and defense against those characters. Like if your running a weak team the sytem should update the weaker character stats to be on par with the stronger characters
Even in treasure battle you can’t try out new unique teams because even there people are still running VB and GF and you can are usually fighting both of them at the same time.
If they want to make the game actually competitive, they need to give each unit the exact same baseline kit with a few differences maybe like fighterz and then it'll work. Fighting UVB and Goku and Frieza every match while not also doing that puts you at an immediate disadvantage which is so stupid considering goku and frieza need to be at least 9* and vegito 8* to not be significantly weaker than your opponents. Leaderslot also has to be the worst update, the concept was cool when it was announced but "i can play with two of my favourites" turned into "vegito and gofrieza, my favourite duo from the universal survival saga"
Dude missed the point where the devs said they place you against ppl in your skill level, dude gets like top 100 or top 50 every season so guess what my guy? You're going to be facing those kind of players, and honestly when goresh faces noobs or weaker players it always seems like he's bullying them, especially in the past when he use to insult them for playing bad, so regular players who place in the bottom 10k are not going to be facing 14 star units, I rank in the top 300 because that's my stress levels could take with all this bullshit lag but I expect to face so super strong teams from the jump, and let's be honest no one should be jumping into pvp with a 3 star unit at YOUR battle rank because as I said the devs match you with players your close to in skill level, now you can run a 3 star LF but you're going to have to zenkai buff and arts boost them first, so your compliant in the middle of the video falls on deaf ears and sounds more personal than universal
This is interesting, I remember being matched with people waaaaay better than you being a problem. But it would seem that a closer grouping doesn’t help either. I’m not sure which is better, but it feels like legends is always run by 5 units post ani and post legends fest. They probably just should’ve never put an RR counter in the game.
People that are in a middle tier when it comes to playing rating matches are affected the most by this adjustment. Like I’m not amazing at legends, but I’d like to think I’m pretty solid and now I am just partnering with people much better than me pretty much every match. I know I need to get better and I’m trying, but it’s hard when I’m just getting destroyed every match by someone who’s been playing the game a lot longer than I have.
If they keep lowering the cc and powercreep keeps getting worse AND THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, yeah im quitting and only coming back in anni and festival every year. 💀
The UI update to finding an opponent doesn't even give any sort of indication of your status. Mine always jumps immediately up to 5 bars, then sits there for 5-10 seconds and either matches me with someone before filling up, or drops back to one bar and starts again. There's no real indication of your matchmaking status still.
Alright so personally from expereince within the different meta's over the years with this game I can conclude that the change to the space time duel and RP battles were honestly pretty good considering that at least I'm not fighting a bunch of losers 24/7 or a bunch of extremely high skilled players 24/7 either. By the legends team making this change they have made playing matches honestly fun again since the old system was honestly... outdated garbage. The amount of times I have found my self playing legends pvp just to get steam rolled or steam roll the opponent is just dumb. With this change I believe that won't really happen any more since each fight will be realatively around the same skill level and troll teams won't exist, which is honestly a much needed change. However for the rest of the update yes I do believe it was much unneeded and the CC removal was just idiotic, they litterally could have just been like oh here's the CC but do 70 floors instead of 100. Getting me to play 100 stages of legends in a few days is like farming an RPG for a rare drop, not fun repetitive and not really worth my time. Anyways sorry I'm just copping so take things with a grain of salt.
Hope they do a Goku frieza buff on this LF zenkai full power frieza cuz all he literally needs is type neutral and more damage reduction with a bit more damage per card.
I was trying to desperately hard to make a team for lf frieza and use him in PvP. I went on a 10 game losing streak against purely vegito blue, goku frieza and 17. Frieza’s damage made me feel like I was using an extreme unit and I’m forced to use a repetitive agr over powered l team to even fair chance against anyone i play against. This is awful
I don't mind the update i just hate how the cc is going low every update I think we should get cc every win on ranked or something cause events cc are going lower and lower I hate how more pay to win it's becoming let the f2p make cc damn
Not only all of those battle issues which bring randomness in…but the star system completely overirides any fair ranking system. The more stars you have the easier it it to rank especially with new characters.
I always saw LF FPF as more of a utility type of unit with so many gimmicks in his kit that aloud him to excel but with his Zenkai it seems like his only stand out quality becomes his anti endurance on rush
I actually do miss being able to see RP. I’m used to it and it affected how serious I took the game. Haven’t seen the “formidable foe” thing pop up, so I wonder how much stronger they need to be for you to see that. I’d like to know if I’m the “formidable foe” too but that’s the least of my worries atm. RP basically told us that already.
The problem with "Play treasure battle or training battle if you want to have fun" is that they are markedly less fun. The problem with Treasure Battle is Bandai said "please play this causually" so players take it upon themselves to camp Treasure Battle with top tier nonsense just to make it miserable for anyone trying to "play casually". I run into people trying way harder in Treasure Battle than I ever do in ranked. And Training Battle is even worse. The problem with Training Battle is that all of the degeneracy that you run into in PvP is amped to 11, or 14 to be more accurate. Training Battle has the same Lag Switchers, hackers, passive PV baiters, and people running only the best units in the game, but now their wallet size doesn't affect their access to 14* units. So you run into all of the garbage you see in ranked, but all of it is capped out. Sadly, the most casual way to play the game is to play ranked, because at least then you have a prayer of fighting someone at least vaguely in the same position as you.
I was really sad to see Goresh disappointed in zenkai LF full power frieza I was really looking forward to seeing him euphorically laugh at how good he was
I think I’m gonna be taking a break from pvp or the game in general until the sbmm system is completely removed or heavily mitigated. Genuinely it isn’t fun when I go into pvp running teams I enjoy like hybrids, future, etc when every team I’m fighting is people playing the game like they’re in a multi million dollar tournament. My first 5 matches of the season I lost because the people I were fighting had multiple god rank badges, 1.5k+ GGs, and were running 9-14* UVB, Gofrieza, 17, UGB, etc. I feel forced to run those same units to have any chance at winning and in general they are not fun to use. Listening to Goresh even say what I’m saying while I’m typing this is just backing up the point. Even in treasure battle, I was still fighting the same kind of players so those modes probably won’t even be fun either. Anyways, first L of the year for Legends, boy did they drop the fucking planet with this one.
I guess I'm just stupid, but I figured Legends was always a competitive game. It's an online PVP fighting game with a ranking system that you climb by fighting other players. As far as I see it, there's no way that's not competitive. The problems that exist now have always existed. This update only made them more obvious.
I actually like this update. Aside from the CC changes done to the battle gauntlet, I like the skill-based matchmaking because I don't play the game to win matches or anything, only to try and summon the characters I really like or are fun. I admit I use UL Vegito and Goku/Frieza because those are the best characters in my box that I have the most fun with and I pulled every anniversary character. Green Piccolo is super fun but I don't have a viable team for him so I don't bother unfortunately. But yeah, I like this update except the CC change :)
For me, it's the total opposite it's UVB, Gofrieza and Frieza every single match and the second you are winning they start lag switching. The cc downgrade was stupid. And I don't have the new units so it's practically impossible to play
To be honest this is how a lot of people feel in rank anyway. You’re complaining about using lower star units…you are very lucky to be able to play with 14* units. You need to understand that the majority of people don’t have 100-150 dollars to put into the game every week.
I have personally had to take a break from legends after getting shafted 20kcc on VB on not getting a single copy and the problem is like Goresh said he basically stand over the entire game i cant play the game because you HAVE to run VB.
100% agree with the point you made that this Raking Match system should be limited to God Rank only. This is what makes more sense, because in God Rank you KNOW you gotta be "competitive". But since day one of the season while you are in Rank 50 being against UVB, UGB and Goku/Freeza every single match is just not fun. For them this chance is good tho because this will motivate more people to go out their way and buy more CC to get the new shinning toy, even more when its combined with the reduction of CC rewards.
the biggest issue im having lately is the fact i cant play co-op at all, it doesnt load a single match it always says it lost connection even before fully loading. Co-op is already bad and not fun by itself but i need to do that shit if i want to complete the Zenkai missions for Frieza and the game doesnt allow me to do it
The WHOLE POINT of pvp games is that people of all different skill levels can interact with and motivate each other to do better and create a more diverse pvp environment
We all remember good old goresh rant after rant in the zenkai SSJ2 trunks and broken zenkais meta, when spending 7k cc for a guaranteed broken unit was better than the new LF. What a good times (no, lol)
I honestly agree with this update, it is ridiculous, ever since the update came live my first fight was a full 14* future team who had a 14 day godly streak( I've never reached god rank, let alone never got a god streak) and I was just tryna have fun with the f2p Goku I wasn't even lvl 70 I was lvl 50-55, it is so unfair, I can definitely see future characters seeing little to no value if this keeps going.
Ive played let say 10 matches yesterday(Im top 10k player not God rank) Out of my 10 matches 9 of them and im not even exaggerating were against x5 + god rank players with typical top unit reams. FUN TIMES
22:30 also, one thing of why new players cannot stick to only training battles or treasure battles is because there are lots of missions like "KO 30 characters in rating match" or "Play 30 games of rating match".
now that the Ginyu force is out and is a super solid team I could probably see myself using the same units a good amount of times. The problem is the amount of time before the Ginyus where I was constantly teambuilding because after a few losses against the same 3-5 units it gets annoying. And my future problem will be that exact thing when the ginyus at some point get units that were built to counter them
Can we all appreciate goresh speaks his mind and isn’t scared to say how he feels is amazing. Constructive criticism is what the team I’m sure likes to hear. Hopefully they take a look at this update.
Honestly, a decent way to remedy the lack of content for people who have finished the events is to release story at the rate the Zenkai Rush event refreshes. You get a total of 41 cc per story mission conpleted perfect. Either that, or continue on with the hard mode and catch hard mode up to where normal mode currently is. No, its not a perfect fix, but it would definitely help a bit
One easy fix may be to have two Matchmaking PvP systems that share the RP. One we will call “Formidable Foe” where they can keep this updated system, and if you win you get a little extra RP than “Regular Matchmaking” which is the old system. The whole thing is just ridiculous to roll out this new system as “The new thing that everyone has to endure now.” Just more ploys to push people to spend a LOT of money, like they don’t make enough, or didn’t make enough from this anniversary…
We play hours to clear the 100 stages especially if you dont have bonus characters just to get 700 cc which is not even enough to get shafted just get and they still decided to nerf it
Changes that should have happened: Guantlet should come back with 50 floors and the regular 700 or the better option of 1kcc for every guantlet. They need to change pvp seasons, make them shorter or more cc should be awarded for each ranking in pvp with the stupid toxic units they release(*cough UVB) also more events need to be added to get cc. I have an account from the time of the 3rd anni to now and I have to scrape the barrel t get cc to summon I cannot imagine older f2p accounts.
I'm a f2p from the first anni. If you think *you* had to scrape the bottom of the barrel, i have all the challenges complete from story parts 1-5. And yet I still got shafted on gofrieza so hard I have both jiren and kahseral at 14 stars and not a single GoFrieza.
For me personally, co-op is a mode that I can get rid of (only played it when zenkias were in it). Event characters aren’t really hype, reused animations, low stats, shallot forms aren’t as good( base is an exception). Devs take cc from events, same team every match. Too big of power creep from “event” characters and summoned characters. “Event don’t need much, 10 counts of null and above average stats are good enough
I see what you saying Goresh but when you get to a certain part of the game you’re going play against crazy teams regardless but the character thing you said makes sense.
It took me over a month getting all of the cc! (Ultra rose) Yesterday I summoned 10K CC. And didnt get him. And I am a Free to play player since the 2TH YEAR celebrations. I got in the game EVERY DAY to do dailys events and lots of pvp just to get shafted so hard i didnt even pull blue zamasu. I havent given up though
@@ginyugoresh I know its just a Joke. Im usually trying to see the positive things in these updates, the only problem is they really messed up this time especially for f2p players
@@christiansauer8633 this game isn't very F2P friendly at all. You are rewarded for being a whale and punished for not spending money. CC is limited. You are unable to play unless you get the Top Meta Characters. You are unable to get the Top Meta Characters unless you are very lucky. Even saving wisely doesn't work if you are unlucky - my friend saved 58K CC and got completely shafted on the Ultra Vegito Blue banner. What does this show? F2Ps like you should quit the game now before it's too late. Then again, I'm not quitting the game? Yeah this sucks, I hate being negative
i used to enjoy pvp resets so i can use teams that i dont have to be super competitive with... now its just putting me on edge. i want the differences not just using meta all the time.
I love how they changed the PvP match making, but not the Co-Op matchmaking. I have seen many more people complaining about matching with players who clearly aren't at an extreme Co-Op level than their PvP matches.
As a f2p the pvp improved for me, before for every 5 matches 3 were with a full 14 stars zenkai team of the newest ultras or lf, 1 was with bots who were way way to easy to win agasint and 1 good match, now its very equilibrated
Adjustment to Special Rank UP is an option, it doesn't prevent from new players or weak players going against pvp players who have neglected doing pvp 2 seasons in a row. It just gave an option to skip going against weaker players, nothing else. But yeah in your eyes it's purely good, but in my eyes, 50% is purely good, 50% did nothing.
Honestly it's a shame, and notice how the units that permanently ignore endurance always seem underwhelming when they get a zenkai. I understand that it's a powerful mechanic but it shouldn't warrant the rest of the kit being mediocre. Maybe it's because the tag 17/18 were such a problem and the devs never want that to happen again
Looks like they need to do more renovations on pvp and cutting cc after the 5th anni is very sleazy overall ps who ever approved the update needs a raise!
