DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO Online Netcode The GOOD And The BAD!
We have had 3 Online gameplay demo showcases of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero which is more than enough to determine if Bandai are making this game the exception with a good online or if Sparking Zero will go the way of Xenoverse 2, Naruto Ninja Storm and many other anime games with a bad online experience!
I Played Dragon Ball Sparking Zero and it's PEAK, the game is infinitely more fun to play than it is to watch and I can guaranteed it goes HARD even with the few playable characters available you can still have a raging blast!

I can guarantee you xenoverse 2 was nearly bottom of the barrel bad. Xenoverse 1 was actually bottom of the barrel. Anything close to that would be one of the most unplayable games we’ve received. Gameplay shouldn’t be comparable in any way to xenoverse. Luckily the difference between xenoverse and this game is that you have a choice of how strong your opponents connection is.

Rollback would be borderline impossible with a game like this sadly. Even for 3D fighters like Tekken it's much harder than for classic 2D fighters like SF or Guilty Gear. Sparking Zero would have similar issues as Tekken but even worse because the arenas are giant, the movement is way faster and way more freeform, rollback would have a LOT of trouble working properly in such conditions

There’s no cross play unfortunately. Only way for me to play with my friend is to buy the game again on my pc or just meetup irl (and be stuck playing on the htc map)

They literally already messed up with not having local multiplayer built into the base game to begin with. Like wtf were they thinking? how do you have a pvp focused game without a offline multiplayer mode. That is honestly the worst thing I hate about this game. Imagine waiting 15 years just to not be able to play offline with your friends and family. Im already mad that it is only going to be on one stage due to limitations?! we have much better technology now and somehow playing offline will be limited? Makes zero sense.

This game isn't being marketed as competitive like FighterZ. They wont waste the resources to make netcode as good as possible. The only way the netcode is good is if they were able to somehow import the work they did on FighterZ's netcode, but if they are starting from scratch don't hold your breath for good netcode

They need to make Broly legendary SSj form lil tanky like they do with the giant forms, so that his transformation can live up to the hype like in the anime, he shouldn't be easy flinchy while getting hit or blasted by regular ki blast, that condition would make his character & transformation more unique & powerful then the regular characters..give him the giant character armor but only during his legendary form he would be like a tank..

It's already confirmed in an interview that the game will use Delay-based netcode and it will sadly also be capped at 60 fps on all platforms (Including PC).

Tbh, I'd say my biggest "issue" if you want to call it that are the impact effects. Making them orange can sometimes make a little hard to see from what I can see in the gameplay. But it's really a non-issue. As for the online, I do think it should be put under more scrutiny given the huge focus on online play, but so far, it looks ok.

Im honestly still highly disappointed that they thought not having local multiplayer was a good decision. They must not know how nostalgic it would've been for BT3 veterans to play offline matches with there family and friends all day and night playing random characters on different stages. Online only would've probably butchered the game on release because of that especially if the netcode is not near perfect since this is a pvp focused game. 70-100$ for a tenkaichi game with a poorly implemented last minute local multiplayer on 1 stage is a HUGE red flag. But people will still defend that and say that im hating i bet.

@Shadowlet I played online with my friend's PS4 Pro and had very few issues online. I played on my PC and was dealing with the worst slowdown imaginable despite the game running fine in single player. And the opponent was my brother who was in the same room as me on his pc.

@Shadowlet It's just poor optimization on PC ports for anime games. Xv2 is the same way even without mods. Worse netcode, the vanish bug, long queue times, and some crashing here and there. DBFZ is poorly optimized for PC, unless you have a god tier GPU, you can't run that shit at 200 Resolution Scaling Breakers PC... just has zero players and a stupid region lock. Even non db games have this issue. It's just that Bandai and many other companies just don't know how to optimize their stuff for PC ports.

I will while I also am a tad nervous about online play because we’ve had no demo, I still hold faith only because of a statement Jun Furatani made I believe around the time it was revealed that couch split screen co-op was in the game but only on one stage. He said something along the lines of “we originally planned on having the core experience of Sparking Zero be online matches against your friends and that’s why we didn’t have spit screen in the beginning…” If you’re saying that out the gate that would just make me think you know online experience has to at least be solid for people to be able to actually enjoy it right? Just some food for thought 🤷🏾‍♂️

Good thing about the net code is I’m not buying the most expensive versions so I get to wait 3 days to see how bad shit is that all these people paid early for them to fix for people that wait (mostly bugs obviously not the net code) but still get to see if it’s bad like how it was in my first Bandai game Naruto warriors or something where it was like pier to pier god that shit was so bad at times like 8/10 times you just couldn’t enjoy the game but man when the games work was it a fucking blast

they should do an online public beta weekend. 1 or 2 weeks before the game releases to see if it is stable and fix if there are any problems. Namco struggles to get Tekken running with good netcode and even then they can’t do a good job. They threw their hands up with T8 and asked a 3rd party to do it and while better it leaves alot to be desired. The quality of the netcode with Tekken goes from great to awful. Then they patch it and we repeat the cycle.

I liked Jump Force. It sucks it’s not on Series X like remade. It’s annoying fighting people online and they only pick the Training Stage because it’s the only stage on Xbox One that doesn’t have significant Frame drop. On the Training Stage the game will run at 60 FPS on Xbox One but any other map it’ll dip to 30 sometimes lower even on other maps but on Series X all maps run perfectly online and the game is perfect to fight on.

debe ser complicado crear un rollback con este juego pues no tienem referencias, no es un juego de peleas tradicional en 2d, si ya predecir la accion de ir a izquierda y derecha debe ser dificil de implementar imagina en un juego donde puedes moverte en cualquier dirección. It will have alot of players because of its fun gameplay, wide variety of mechanics, the huge amount of content it will have, and the infinite replayability with custom battle. The good look of the game is only a biproduct of the era the game was developed in, and I'm sure some people will get it because it looks gorgeous.

Rollback Is not going to be in sparking zero it’s to hard for 3D games. Tekken has rollback but the characters aren’t teleporting and moving all over the screen constantly. It’d be impressive but I highly doubt it. Hope they could pull it off

How does transformation work? Like can u go from base goku, ss, ss2, ssg, ssgss like DBZ KAKAROT or Budokai 3? B/c so far ive only seen them have 1 transformation. Like they'll already start as ssg & go to ssgss or theyll start at base form & transform into ssgss
