Yeah, Goku *did* get that mad on Namek in the actual series. He even tells Gohan to get far away while he can still think straight. Goku's first transformation was *scary* Considering he stays in space for like a year or so afterwards to master Super Saiyan more, some Goku fans assume he was literally scared of losing control and hurting his friends and family if he didnt master this power before coming back 🤔

Yup Goku get's that angry in the show and the manga, even tells Gohan to get away before he loses his mind. Goku is the scariest when he's like that way scarier than vegeta. My mother always said the scariest people are the gentle kind ones because they are actually scared of themselves

Frieza's line is so cold, "you'll die in disgrace by the hands of your master" paired with Goku's iconic "you fool". Literal chills.

4:58 Yes! please play kakarot. Its a great version of the events from dragon ball z with beautiful cinematics! Sparking zero will retell the story events of dbz but not to the same level of detail as kakarot did so i would recomend playing kakarot in you're looking for a more in depth story.

A lot of DBZ games have "What If" stories in addition to the main story, but this game is different because it's the main story, but you can make choices that lead to different outcomes. For example, Goku can refuse Piccolo's help when rescuing Gohan, and this could lead to Goku going Super Saiyan in his first fight with Vegeta. You could also watch the Master and Apprentice trailer if you want. There's no spoilers in it

Sparking Zero and Kakarot are pretty different games. Kakarot is more of an RPG were you play through the Dragon Ball story. Sparking Zero is essentially a 3D fighting game that serves as a playground where you can play as, as many characters as possible (counting different versions of characters, it's going to have 164 playable characters)

Dbz Kakarot is so worth playing, it does a great job at remastering the show

Interesting you mention Goku's anger because thats the feeling many got seeing him transform it was cool awesome in fact but Goku is character that rarely shows that type of anger or desire to kill so super Saiyan was cool but also a little worrying

Goku was big mad after Krillin got killed, he even threatened Gohan when he hesitated to leave with Piccolo. I think that TFS tried to get that across in the episode, but ultimately it's a comedy. He still didn't want to kill Frieza, he wanted to humiliate him and watch him get beaten down by a "simple monkey" (Goku's words) Frieza has several mental breakdowns during the fight as his entire conception of reality with him as the supreme lifeform in the universe is shattered and he refused to accept it, Kakarot (the game) really captures this in its' cinematics. That's why though a lot of fans think Frieza coming back in Super/Resurrection F is lazy writing and hate it, I like the direction at least. Though Trunks killed Frieza it was Goku who stripped Frieza of his identity and his dignity which is why he hates Goku so much. Frieza even drops a lot of his goals like immortality, becomes open to the idea of training to become better ratehr than relying on his natural talent and refuses to destroy Earth without killing Goku and Vegeta first to prove a point: he becomes like the Saiyans. Kakarot is the best cinematic experience and free-form exploration experience in a Dragon Ball game ever bar-none and if I wanted someone to experience DBZ's story I'd point to that.... gameplay is a bit barebones and simplified but I don't think it'll be a problem for casual gamers. Sparking Zero is going to be far more of a technical fighter probably less cinematic more focused on options and player freedom though, as it's a spiritual successor to the old Budokai Tenkaichi games so they both offer something different.

According to the interviews I read from Toriyama he spend the most time into forging Og dragonball up until the end of Namek saga. So if you want to see the true character of Goku there is that. Super does not do him justice at all.

Yeah. In the real version (not the Abriged), Goku was pissed when Frieza killed Krillin. Also since you guys are reacting to Sparking Zero, can you react to every super attack, and ultimate Attack from Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3? Sparking Zero is supposed to be a sequel to that game and it releases in 2 months. The attacks in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 look great and I think you guys would like that a lot, and would be nice before the new game releases.

3:40 to give you some context on how crazy the original transformation was, in the dragon ball z manga, good natured people (for the most part) have circles for speech bubbles, while villains and most aliens have square ones. Goku, for the entirety of dragon ball has circles, until he transforms into super saiyan. He was quite literally a different person, and he seemed concerned that he might even hurt gohan just for being there...

You gotta remember Frieza just killed Krillen, his lifelong best friend, in front of Goku. He was raging with good reason. And you're referring to the 'what if scenarios' in regards to swapping out characters in the story. Really cool stuff like 'what if Goku went super saiyan when fighting Vegeta for the first time'.

Yes! Please play Dragon Ball Z Kakarot! There have been dozens of DBZ games, but Kakarot retells the story in the most faithful way possible. Also fun fact, the Kakarot game is made by CC2 (Cyberconnect2), the same developers who made Asura's Wrath!

I was waiting for you two to finish the T.o.P arc to make a Sparking Zero playlist with all the trailers since some contain major spoilers. Keep in mind that Goku gets angry when anyone hurts and kill his friends. Only reason Goku goes Super Saiyan is because Frieza kills Krillin. In order to go Super Saiyan you have to be filled with rage, that's how Cabba went Super Saiyan against Vegeta.

Goku was more angry and serious in Z compared to Super. I miss that part of him

3:38 I would like to suggest you guys watch dragon ball kai saiyan saga and freeza saga for proper dailouge of the characters. The dialogue content of kai is true to the written manga which may change your perspective about some of the characters.

Yes there’s a story mode but also has a what if story as well which is going to be really awesome.

I dont know how deep the story will go on Sparking Zero, but it will at least hit the the main fights of the story. Like you will go from fight to fight, a little bit of lore here, a little cutscene there, but it will mainly be just fighting. Not a lot of non-action pieces. At least, that its what I expect, as Sparking Zero is a spiritual sequel to games we got in the ps2 era.

Going through dragon ball kakarot would be great, even with just the cut scenes and watching them is excellent

It's not likely going to go through the entirety of the Z and Super story but it's predecessor, Tenkaichi 3, didn't either. However, also like T3 - not the Terminator - it will have What-if stories to tinker with which is absolutely a fan favorite feature. For the quintessential story experience to playthrough as a game, you will not find better than Kakarot so a high recommend on that front.

This game will have some of the story, but it’s not as in depth, it’s more like just key battles, if you want like a almost full story mode, i think it’d be best to play Kakarot, great game and looks great!

Goku gets that mad all the time in actual Z. They just make him silly (like Super tbh) in abridged. It was more controlled, it is true (especially in the Cell and Buu sagas), but Freeza really made him snap.

Sparking Zero will probably just highlight the main fights in story mode. Kakarot is a more in-depth recreation of the DBZ story in video game form, although it can get a bit long-winded. If you just want the excitement and spectacle, then Sparking Zero would be your best bet.

For what it's worth the Master and Apprentice trailer also doesn't feature anything you guys haven't seen so far.

Kakarot will undoubtedly have better cutscenes however this is a continuation of the old Budokai games which adapt everything. I don't know yet if it'll have GT stuff or if it'll be DLC but this will undoubtedly have all canon sagas. The problem is it probably won't have great cutscenes that adapt the story well outside of fights. Y'all might be able to experience some of old Dragon Ball through Sparking Zero however how much of it we don't know. Like are they going to have Bulma drive up and shoot Goku before cutting to an actual fight with Bulma or are they going to play it out like the show. Stuffs going to be cut no matter what it's just a matter of how much are you willing to give up. Kakarot does sort of tell some old Dragon Ball stuff still though.

The story mode will focus on 8 characters and cover battles from the beginning Z when Raditz shows up to where the DBSuper anime currently ended with the Tournament of Power arc, which would contain spoilers for you two, and will contain choices to follow the canon path or branches off into short "what-if" story scenarios that didn't happen.
