It's a shame the series moved away from its roots of two players single screen. To be honest, the only reason why I was hyped for these titles is that they were total couch party fun! You'd have everyone over, order food, and on the TV in the background would be Budokai... without fail... every fight would be WHAT IF since it was beyond casual. Couch Play/Co-Op R.I.P.

If I ever got this game, I would set up a storyline where Trunks died early on and Bulla, Vegeta's daughter, took his play and you played the Android Saga as her.

Im hyped about this because they say its a new chapter to budokai tenkashi wich was my favorite games. I hope they also put what if characters like before. In the past you had SSJ 3 Vegeta and Broly as what if characters

I'm a little unclear here - is this purely a fighting game, or is there also an adventure/rpg mode where I could play through the dbz storyline (possibly with non-canon characters engaging in the story fights)?

There is a story mode for 8 different characters, with Goku story being the longest. I belive Goku's covers the events of both Z and Super, but you also can change the storyline by making different decisions through the story.

The only thing that blows my mind is that they are releasing a game based on old concepts, patterns, and solutions while using old assets from Kakarot. Animation connectors also looks kinda off (1:31)

We get 5000 lines of dialogue to create our stories with, and names can be replaced to any other names. We will be able to create anything. Even more so - looking at the story gameplay I am very confident the actual story mode of sparking zero was actually made in custom battle editior. Of course the fully cinematic cut scenes are not. These are pre baked and we can't recreate them. But everything else? Yeah we can make our stories on the exact same level of quality As for the choices I do think they carry over until the end of the current saga. So in the version of the story where Goku doesn't team up with Piccolo, as we can see from gameplay online - Goku does not die against Radditz. That means no King Kai training, no kaioken. He can't beat Vegeta - unless he turns super Saiyan

I havent played a classic dragonball game since raging blast 2 and I am so pumped for this! i did play fighterz but i wouldent call that yr standard dragonball formula.
