Exactly, but because Vegeta senior had to much pride to be outclassed by any other sayian, they give up to a really good asset to their army. Imagine Broly without trauma and being trained from an early age to harness his power, i really think him under Bardock would have been their salvation.

It is not just that, actually. The REAL reason behind Broly's anomalous strength and his anomalous and very rapid growth of power over the course of the Movie, is that Broly is to the Saiyans, what Frieza is to the Frost Demons ..... a MUTANT of his own kind. We have already seen what are the characteristics of the "mutants" in Dragonball: They are EXTREMELY more powerful and prodigious in fighting, than the "normal" exponents of their own kind, but on the other hand they have a VERY distorted mental and emotional balance. Lord Slug for example was a Namekian mutant, who on the one hand is strong enough to be considered a "Super Namekian", but on the other hand has a purely evil heart, due to his own mutation. The same goes for Frieza and her father towards the Frost Demons, while in the case of Kale and Broly, there seems to be more of a problem of lack of mental and emotional control, which pushes them to act as wild berserkers (perhaps a primordial genetic "memory" of the Saiyan's original primitive nature), in exchange for the immense power they possess. That said, however, it must be considered that "mutants" are NOT necessarily irrecoverable cases: If supported by a correct "influence", a mutant may be able to control both its immense power and its own instincts. Kale demonstrated this in the Tournament of Power and it seems that Broly himself may also be "destined" for this path, since at the end of the Movie, Goku offered to train with him, also to help him gain control of the its strength. Conversely, Paragus INCITED Broly to violence and removed any possible "good" influence from him, in order to make him the perfect weapon for his revenge against the Saiyan royal family. Between one thing and the other then, it's no wonder then, if Broly in the Movie was as he was.
