Chi-Chi is a major reason Gohan is a pacifist and was useless until the Cell saga, and is a reason Goku and Gohan don’t have a good relationship, even if she isn’t the main cause. Also, Goku was alive and a constant presence in Gohan’s life UNTIL HE DIED FOR HIM, then trained to become stronger when Vegeta and Nappa were coming to Earth. Call me crazy, but it seems Chi-Chi is actually to blame for a lot of bullshit

And it's fucking heartbreaking. His resignation to the unavoidable endpoint of growing up in such an environment his whole life. You hear the sum of all that pain in that Kamehameha Wave. Yeah, I cried.

It's also a reference to when chichi wanted gohan to work on biology after he explained the multiverse theory to trunks (don't remember the episode number, but it was after they find cell's time machine)

Gohan transforming into SSJ2 was one of the biggest moments ever. and the people who work on TFS wanted to do it justice. I remember them live reacting to Gohan's scream during a live stream. it was beautiful!🥲

To be fair, the first one he calls on Goku, the fight *was already* over, he just asked Krilin to let Geets go, and the second time, he was royally pissed and dominating Freezer in every way he could, and then some, both in DBZA and in the original series, and both of them were alone in that planet, so the only one who was risking his life was him. And prior to the wish, he specifically asked Gohan to get the fuck out of the planet so they have the dragon balls back. Gohan was risking Earth by prolonging a fight that he should have ended, The thing Gohan COULD have called on Goku was letting Geets get his way of not destroying the androids before they were activated, when Goku was, by far, the strongest being on Earth. That one *is* Goku's B.

It's especially satisfying given that no one addresses Goku's hypocrisy in the original. Here Gohan just slaps him in the face with his own blunders.

@@thibautisserant As I said, that's the thing, with the exception of him allowing Vegeta *AND* wanting to fight the androids instead of destroying them before they were ready as Bulma said, everything Gohan calls Goku on in this scene isn't exactly true. Vegeta was already defeated, Goku wasn't prolonging the fight, with Frieza, he and Goku were alone in Namek and Goku was dominating him completely, and in the original Gohan thought Goku and Cell weren't fighting for real (Goku was) because he, prior to becoming a SSJ2 was already beyond that level of combat (and he was sure his father was still stronger than him). Goku's mistake was thinking Gohan enjoyed fighting and would want for Cell to be at his best, but Gohan KNEW what Goku was doing, he already says so prior to Piccolo's rant at Goku. And Goku's reaction once he is told that no, Gohan doesn't enjoy that, is to ask for a Senzu and go to fight Cell. I love DBZA, but they are one of the biggest responsible groups for the whole "Goku is the *worst* father", when he is actually ok. Let's remember that Gohan himself told Goku, in the HBTC, that he was being too soft on him, and that the grain that broke the camel's back when Goku became a SSJ was Frieza threatening to kill Gohan *after* killing Krillin. Even in Buu's saga he was thinking about Earth and his family when instead of killing Buu, he gave Goten and Trunks the tools to become even stronger than him.

@@lenlimbo to add on, pretty sure Goku acknowledges his mistake in dragging out his fight with Freeza, but his heart was too clouded by anger to think rationally. Which is part of why he trained Full Power SSJ with Gohan, to eliminate that. SSJ2 just brought it out stronger than Goku expected.
