This is the best LOG2 video ive seen, and im someone who seeks them out. You can tell so much effort was put in to this. Like even the "we now have access to five (technically six)" moment where you've gone to the trouble of overlaying 5 separate cuts of gameplay footage, with a partially darkened out Hercule zooming in slightly with a shine animation to signify it as a secret, unlockable character. Real care and effort for that 2 second moment in a 45 minute video. The little text box gags, or referencing the webfoot BTS footage, even the TFS references. As someone whose favourite childhood game is this, I legit appreciate you specifically making a meme for Piccolo switching off Vinnie's power. Great video.
Edit: yikes @ that typo at 14:02. If anyone needs me, I’ll be starting a petition to RU-vid to let creators update videos after upload. Still, a single typo in a 45 minute video ain’t half bad! Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed this review! The next one I’ve got in the works for y’all is a review/retrospective about Pokemon Get 1 (specifically Red/Yellow) that I hope to have out in the second week of September or so! On top of that, the next episode of my podcast, Media Obscura, is out on 8/16 and will be about an unlicensed Dragon Ball movie that came out in Korea back in 1990! You’ll be able to check that out on my secondary channel (Nicholas Caesar) or your favorite podcast player when it’s out! Please feel free to support the channel via donation or subscription over at:www.buymeacoffee.com/niche or www.patreon.com/NichePlays. Subscribers get access to some fun bonus goodies like directors commentaries for videos, commentary tracks over gameplay for the question of the day, mentions in my video credits and even access to a never-before-shown work-in-progress demo video that’s essentially a NichePlays pilot from early 2020! You’re also free to check out my movie/tv podcast, Media Obscura: pod.link/themediaobscura
Golden sun on gba (which was bought for me by mistake) got me into the jrpg scene, I'd already played every pokemon game up to that point but this was like a whole other level of gaming, even now 21 years later I still replay it
Glad you enjoyed it and I totally agree! It only gets crazier too when you dig into the production of the game and find out that Webfoot Technologies was also working on a 3D Powerstone style DBZ game for consoles that ended up getting cancelled *and* DBZ: Taiketsu at the same time as this! I would've included that info in the video itself but I actually only just found this out an hour after I uploaded this lol
@@NichePlays I'm actually in the process of scripting a video about that very thing. Atari basically screwed webfoot and gave them like no time to finish anything. Such a shame
Would it help if I said that the era of kids that got into JRPGs thanks to Secret of Mana are all lovely and beautiful people who can take it in stride AND have aged like fine wine? ;)
Glad you liked the video and are pumped for the Gen 1 video I’m working on. I’m excited to get that out in a month or so! As for the spoiler alert, yeah it definitely feels silly to share, but I know some of my subs haven’t seen DB before and I wanted to leave the option there for them just in case haha
Hey dude! Glad to see my request to make this video come to life. Continue Making great content. Keep up the good work. You deserve more views/ subscribers. Brings back memories when I was a kid.
Hello again! I really like the content of your videos, and all your editing and presentation, and your deep dives into each game! But you know ya girl is always gonna turn up for the QotD first. re: QotD - Rock Band 2. it got me into rhythm games. it taught me how to play them, and how to appreciate them. The intuitive interface and gameplay really made the entire genre accessible for a (then) novice like me. And shortly after, Rock Band 3 taught me how to play drums irl, which felt even more special!
Hi! Glad you really enjoy the channel and all the work I put into my videos! I really appreciate it :) Rock Band and Guitar Hero were really something special! I only owned Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii and Beatles Rock Band for the 360 back in the day but I absolutely adored them. In fact, one of my favorite multiplayer experiences of all time was getting three friends over to blaze through Beatles Rock Band as a group! There was just something really fun and communal about it since two of the people there didn’t play instruments in real life and got to enjoy themselves in spite of it! Also that’s so cool that RB3 taught you the drums for real! That reminds me of the Rocksmith games and how a friend of mine learned guitar from them
Bro how did you get the Toonami guy to talk about you with his voice? Your editing is incredible. You deserve 1M subs. Would love to collab sometime and talk Dragonball Zelda resident evil etc. keep it up man 👍🦁
For the question of the day: the game Hotel Dusk Room 215 for the ds, it got me into the point and click adventure. Which is amazing. Totally worth looking into if you never played it.
I’ll have to take a look at it! I’ve played a few point and clicks before but never fully got into the genre, and have also been looking to check out some new DS games!
Yakuza 0 got me into the genre of . . . well, the Yakuza games. I'm sure the series can't be actually called a genre unto itself, but there's nothing else quite like it. But you know what? I'd say GoldenEye for the N64 got me into FPS games. I'd played Doom before but it didn't quite light the fire
I’ve really wanted to try Yakuza out for a while. Believe it or not, I actually know next to nothing about it haha. And I could totally see Golden Eye doing it for you! I played some FPS’s on PC as a kid but 007 Nightfire on the PS2 had the same effect on me!
@@NichePlays that's badass dude! I've been wanting to do voice overs for a long time and thought about checking out Fiverr and forgot all about it haha But love your vids so far man, good stuff!!
Hi! Thanks for subscribing! I hope you enjoy the stuff I've made on this channel, as well as the stuff I've got coming out soon :) Keep your eyes peeled for my next upload on September 9th!
@@NichePlays wooow just looked down your uploads, more or less all right up my street! My new favourite channel!! Looking forward to diving in, keep up the good work
