@@SirStrikeFreedom Not really tho, design wise, the new one looks tame compared to the OG (say what you will about it being gruesome, but that blood soaked bandana is badass) and in term of characters, he's closer to Jor-El. Bardock wasn't supposed to be a good guy, he was a ruthless saiyan who only entrusted the future to his son because he was dying and saw a glimmer of hope in the future. Kakarot meant nothing to him initially due to his low power level at birth.

@@bdletoast09 He's the same. As I said, he goes through the same this as his non Canon counterpart save for the team wipe and the future sight. All that happened was Bardock knew something was off and sent Goku away not on because he's his son but because he wanted a Saiyan to live. That makes him a better character rather than "hurr durr I can see the future "

@@SirStrikeFreedom Wow I just ran into a regular idiot. DBZ Bardock was a powerful Saiyan who gained strength through hardwork and brains. The man was violent cocky arrogant and more than willling to kill in cold blood even playing it off for laughs. He didn't give a crap about anyone other than himself, his friends or his people but at the end of the day he was willing to spit at fate itself to save his kind proving he was good deep down. Also his ability to see the future was given to him so he could foresee the inevitable consequences of his actions as well as give him some semblance of hope knowing his son will grow up to be a great warrior who will avenge his people. DBS Bardock goes against the entire nature of a Saiyan, he was a merciful, polite, kind, loving father and husband who was willing to spare his victims. He only fought one dude onscreen and he got dogged in that fight until he got a last minute Zenkai boost and won thanks to the plot. Overall he is very boring and generic and is a character we've seen a million times before. So yeah there so similar.

Your opinions matter not here. Z Bardock was cool but future sight and him then traveling back to the past with an attack that should have killed him was pure bullshit writing.
