Yes, it sounds really weird, but it's like a family member has died. I just have tears in my eyes. When I think about it, Son Goku was at my house (on TV) more often than some family members, hahaha. Akira Toriyama has touched a lot of people with his characters and stories. Crazy... I'm just sad.
This song emphasizes the core of Dragon Ball to me. About self improvement of the body and soul as well as the human spirit to never give up even in the face of overwhelming odds. From fans of old to younger audiences, Toriyama truly touched billions with his work. Not only through his own stories, but the inspiration he was to others and their own tales. I speak for all Dragon Ball fans when I say thank you Toriyama, and may your soul rest in peace
RIP as goofy as the show may come across some times, the underlying message behind the show and its story has always been ever clear. I’m glad we all got to experience the man’s work while he was still with us. Hopefully his apprentice takes the time he needs, to not rush himself after such a loss. is the most important thing. Until the next episode, take care everyone : )
As someone who grew up with Dragon Ball back when Kai was airing, the series has gad a special place in my heart and too see Toriyama go to the other world hurts to know but the same time… knowing the legacy he’s left behind makes me happy to know that his legacy will never fade away. Thank you for everything Toriyama and farewell.
Today, we gather here to remember a man, a legend, like no one ever was. On this day, we have the news of the passing of Akira Toriyama, creator of Dr Slump, Sandland and, of course, Dragon Ball. I can't explain in mere words what these man's work meant to me, he made my hero, he WAS my hero, but now... he's gone... and we don't have the dragon balls to bring him back. But he will always be with us, living through his legacy. Rest in Peace, Toriyama Sensei
There's something really special about this track. The Genkidama/Spirit Bomb is always used as the ace-in-the-hole, last ditch attack and you'd expect its theme to sound epic or intense...but instead it is peaceful, which perfectly fits the technique itself. It is an oasis in a desert. A surge of life, bringing with it hope and an end to the battle. EDIT: Had to come back after Toriyama-sensei's passing...I raise my hands to the sky, to him and Kikuchi. Thank you for everything.
Rest In Peace, Shunsuke Kikuchi! Not only as a Dragon Ball legend, but also as a genius composer. Thank you for sharing your energy with us all in this beautiful music. You will be missed but not forgotten.
It's the feeling of when you're graduating from high school, you can't look back anymore, you have to move forward, Goku knew Buu wasn't going to survive this, it was a sas but yet happy feeling, he was fond of buu because of his battle power but at the same time he was a threat to the world so he had to end him.
RIP to both Shunsuke Kikuchi and Akira Toriyama, Dragon ball has always got me through so many tough moments in my life and just pushing through everything no matter what. Thank you for making our childhoods, it seriously has made a big impact on all of us.
Congratulations, You've made it to 2024. You could all rest here like me now Edit:( I just got news about Akira Toriyama's passing, Everyone please give him respect and hopefully he could live happily in another world.)
@my name is read by someone i trolled bold of you to think I'll go to heaven and awfully bold of you to think that humanity will be done in that easily
R.I.P Akira Toriyama. Thank you for giving the world Dragon Ball and all of us timeless memories for everything you've done. Hope you're watching over us from Otherworld 😢
This moment. This was the top of the entire Dragon Ball serie. Goku, after all of his adventures, was ready to land one of the most powerful and hopeful attacks ever. It was built thank to all the people Goku met during his life. It was the end of the most destructive being ever existed: majin buu. It was the moment when the results of a legendary story would have brought the beloved and long waited peace in Earth. This moments is still emotional, legendary, nostalgic nowadays. This moment cannot be even described how great it is. It still gives me goosebumps and make me feel so good. Thank you Dragon Ball. Thank you all.
troppo bella...con super non riesco a emozionarmi cosi...dbz ti entra nel cuore, ti coinvolge, ti fa sentire a pelle i colpi degli avversari, ti coinvolge troppo
Thank you Toriyama for the beautiful manga with so many great character , lessons and emotion you gave to us . Now you are on the other world with Enma and Kaio sama RIP Akira Toriyama 😢
"Das hast du großartig gemacht, Son Gohan. Ich bin stolz auf dich." "Papa, was machst du denn?" "Pass gut auf deine Mutter auf und sag ihr, dass ich sie liebe. Bitte sie um Verzeihung, ich werde sie niemals vergessen." "Papa, nein nicht!" "Lebe wohl, Son Gohan!"
Hell yeah it did. That was one of the most iconic scene s in dbz history when I was a child. The way he roared and how the earth was being raptured suited it perfectly. This isn't the version they used though. If anyone knows the version that cell powered up to please do tell by the way.
Rest in Peace, Akira Toriyama. Thank you for everything you gave us as fans. See you in the Other World. Everyone be sure to raise your hands and give him your energy! ❤
Has pasado por varias transformaciones.
"You are an incredible being, I admire you a lot because you gave your best, went through several transformations, it was so powerful that we all hate you..." "I hope you are reborn as a good person, I will be waiting for you to fight, I will also train, I will train a lot to get stronger...." "Goodbye Majin Boo!!"
Have you ever think that probably when this episode was originaly transmited on TV we all as kids raised our hands together at the same time, without unocsiously realizing that we were all together doing something great together, without knowing each other we were all sharing our chilhood memories.
Hearing this feels really different after what happened recently. I got into Dragon Ball at the tail end of his life, but for that short time, I appreciated it all the same. Akira Toriyama had a sense of humour and adventure that will never be in unison with an imagination like his again, certainly in my life time. He is sorely missed already.
Why am i constantly crying to this song everytime i listen to this, it provokes so much sadness and hit deep in my hearts maybe there is a hope for me to realize and change myself in life.
It’s kinda funny cuz me too and this show aired way before I was even alive. It’s amazing cuz this show brought me together with my family members when I was a child (specially my cousins) and idk man it just teleports me back to when we had no responsibilities, no problems, no worries. We were just happy and didn’t know it.
May you rest in peace, Akira Toriyama. I grew up watching Dragon Ball and I got a lot of lovely memories from it... Thank you for making all of this possible. We love you. ❤🙏💯👑
I remember driving my car to the hospital as fast as possible through the traffic to reach my love. She was dying. She was dying of cancer. I made it just in time to see her eyes light up brightly. We talked hours and hours about how we met and how much love we had with each other before the nurse told me it was time. I then started to weep heavily never wanting to leave her side before she placed her hand on top of mine and saying "It's alright. I love you." Those were her last words before I left. As I drove home, a smile broke out on my face for I knew that she would be watching over me grinning as she normally would through the clouds and the sky. She was the only one who made me really do that. Smile. This song was the last I remember listening to. It brought back that time when we met. It brought back that time I proposed to her. It brought back that time when we hugged for hours on end as the letter came through to say she had that awful disease. I still listen to this everyday to be brought to tears as I recall her. My love. We shall meet again soon. I love you. 0:00
I'm sorry for you're loss man. My condolences goes out to your wife and you. RIP to your wife and you stay safe and fine new love and friendships. That's what's life about really, remembering loved ones and looking towards a brighter future :)
WarLatchBack I am sorry to hear that, my brother. You shall meet again. Stay strong, she is with you, watching over you. I sent you my deepest condolences to you. This moved me to tears. God bless you ❤️
Dbz5 impacted a lot of our minds what is making you cry is the nostalgic feeling that this song gives out, it makes you want to be a little kid again waking up to watch cartoons early on a Saturday night with a bowl of cereal and have no worries or responsibilities.
Gracias Goku ! Gracias Akira Toriyama !!!
one of the best soundtrack that reminds me my childhood like a thing happy, i love dragon ball, love the soundtrack, hits like you are them, Is like a "comeback" when we were happy
I officially declare. This is the best soundtrack ever! Constantly, when I listen to it, I get the maximum feeling of pleasure. He... just... broke me inside and out. Impossible...
Rest in peace Akira Toriyama… you work inspired trillions of people including me like a spirit bomb and impacted as you left a legacy onto this world thank you for everything…🪽
I can only say, it's real beautiful to see fans return to this video now that Akira Toriyama has passed to Otherworld himself. I cannot say I knew much about him, but he's given me and thousands, if not millions, of others something that still touches us to this day. And for that, I thank him and everyone else that made the show possible. Rest in Peace, mister Toriyama...

I’m sure Akira is up there, always drawing, eating his favorite snacks reading his magazines. That’s what he thought was best. His best life. RIP Akira toriyama.
