Man the sound design artist of Dragon Ball Z needs some kind of award. I can recognize the sound of a Dragon Ball Z character powering up, a ki wave being fired, or the footsteps of cell, in any context and at any time. So iconic.
the character style designer of this intro was yamamuro and the character style in super is also yamamuro what this means is that yamamuro just got worse but the designer of the new broly movie is shintani and his design look amazing!
It all comes down to production costs. You can work on a 1 min trailer and invest in quality and details but when you try to replicate that kind of attention for hundreds of episosodes in a Tv series, it's just not feasable. I love this retro art style with toned down colors and I am a bit sad they moved away from it but I am happy that towards the end of Dragonball Z, it seemed like they had more budget and really polished the drawings and animations in that last fight with Buu. The production value was insane in my opinion and I loved every frame.
1:50 For all those who say that the fusion should have been Vegetto and not Gogetta. Goku and Vegeta didn't wear the Potara earrings and the spark is at the center of the screen and not at their earlobe, so technically, they were not worng XD
bro7 yea that sequence makes think more of a potara fusion than a dance fusion, but whatever. What bothers me the most is Gogeta's forehead at 1:55, that's what I thought was weird. Like I mean there's too much space between his forehead and his face if you look at it. And that makes him look weird. But the following sequences aren't as bad luckily.
bro7 tbh i can easily see why people would think that but if you look closely their not actually wearing potara earings i think the two faces overlapping and then combining Vegeta Goku is just *purely* to show that it's them that come together to form who you see next-Gogeta but they couldv'e done it better tbf for the fans because at first glance for the fans it *does* look like a potara fusion

Goosebumps only because of the Intro. I played the game long before it came out on TV in Germany 👍💪🤘 It was exciting Not even to know the Characters like the SSJ 3 Goku IT was Impressive.. Oder Or... Beeindrucken✌️☺️
No computer animation in the near future will ever top this drawn style. I wonder what keeps studios from going back to it, is it the amount of effort?

the intro was the best part of the game.. I was so excited when I got this game... I force myself making like it as I was a big dbz fan and was so doped to play it on a psx but I expected it to be full 3d tbh
este juego fue el mayor anticipo "spoiler" que tuvimos ya que recuerdo e hizo muy conocido apenas se empezo a transmitir Z en televisión, aún recuerdo como pensabamos que tipo de saiyajin o personajes serian.
Yo también recuerdo aparte del juego haber visto pósters y muñecos de personajes que aún no salían en la serie en ese momento y me preguntaba quienes son estos?
Ah yes, I remember this game. The ultimate moves were damn near impossible to pull off. You had to do lightning-quick half and quarter turns on the joystick which is so easy to mess up.
As a kid we never had access to the internet. I wasn't able to check out the reviews for games before my mum brought games for me. I was obsessed with DBZ as a kid. If I saw a game on the PS1 that was a DBZ game I just had to tell my mum to get it. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when the only thing good about this game was the intro. 🤣🤦♂️
Yo recuerdo que veía la intro del juego en la TV de un local de videojuegos que frecuentaba eso fue allá por el 97 o 98 y me preguntaba quienes son esos personajes? Pues en ese momento estaba la saga de los sayayin o apenas comenzando la de Freezer pero me encantaba la intro ya hasta por ahí del 99 fue la primera vez que lo jugué y ya había visto más personajes cómo Cell y los androides en la serie aunque el juego tenía una movilidad extraña me divertía mucho jugando

No me imagino si Toriyama tomaba este proyecto en los 90s sería bastante acertado hubiéramos visto más dragon ball asta la actualidad y tendríamos bastantes villanos
